@@IceSkater8491I disagree. I know know you probably think it sounds cliche, but life in general needs more focus on the good things in life. *As a mom, I understand the parents struggling whilst watching their child struggle with learning how to live with how she is. Whether it be dyslexia, OCD, ADHD, Autism, etc., they have to learn how to manage it as they grow up and thereafter. You can't do it **_for_** them, you can just cheer them on. I get the feeling her parents love her very much but it would be okay if she lives with her husband not in their house. If I would have come home at 20 and had not yet finished University. Now I could do what I wanted. But I understood that my parents loved me and wanted the best for me

I noticed Kasey was actually very decisive and could quickly make decisions when she did NOT like something. It seemed like committing or saying yes to things was more difficult. Obviously this is just a very small, edited snippet, but I wonder if she would gain confidence in rejecting the identity that she’s not good at making decisions. She actually demonstrated good skill and assertion when it came to declining dresses she knew she didn’t like.

@@chrislent6142That's some toxic positivity. To me she seems just very perfectionist, to the point where she's afraid of making a choice and then finding out that it wasn't the best possible choice after she's stuck with it. That's why she has no problem saying no to dresses, because you can automatically say no to any dress that's worse than at least one other dress, and realistically if you change your mind no one is going to say you can't have it because you said no once. But feeling confident that you won't find a better dress, not even in another store or online, when you can't afford to buy a second one after you buy the first one...impossible. And the culture that it seems like she comes from probably doesn't help, when having a perfect dress is considered to be a reflection of your inner purity and being a good person, and not having a "perfect dress moment" is some kind of judgement on your relationship with your significant other... I wouldn't want to make decisions, either.

Thing is, her OCD won’t go away. Regardless of her youth. To choose to live your life, continue on and power through your disorders is what makes someone even more strong than you realize. I have ptsd, (and adhd). Regardless of my issues, I still need and want to live. I want the experiences other people have without someone thinking ‘yikes’. My husband helps me with my issues because he loves me. And it will be the same for this lovely lady in the video. And as another comment said, 10 years later she’s still married and has 2 children. Further proving she made the right choice for herself. It all worked out just like it does for everybody else. She just had to work harder for it. Her ocd will always be there but her life doesn’t have to suffer and stay stagnant because of it.

Our lives sound exactly the same. I was also in 3rd grade when I also starting washing my hands until they bled due to severe stress in my home. My mother was being physically abused and I had so much guilt that I, as a child, would not get up in the night and try to help my mom. I wouldn't touch other children because I was afraid they would die if I touched them. The thoughts that would threaten me if I didn't do the obsessions and compulsions it asked me to do. Finally 100 mg. Of Prozac a day helped me soooo much for years until I had gastric bypass and then all my meds quit working. They never told me that they take out about 8 feet of your intestines when they do gastric bypass weight loss surgery and in those 8 feet of intestines is where most of our medications break down and blend into your body so hardly any meds work for me now. There is hope for you , I promise. You can do this! Prayers!

He doesn't like to acknowledge or admit to the OCD, but it's such a struggle as a parent to watch your child have such difficulty with things that are normal everyday situations for others. This mom was amazing and my heart goes out to this girl. She's lovely and makes a gorgeoua bride.

Have you ever TRIED to persuade a young couple that they would be better off waiting a few years to marry when they are SO IN LOVE and no one OLD understands. No wonder there is a relationship between age at marriage and divorce rates.

The replies here are, with one exception so far, very rude and judgemental. Deciding that you know what's best for someone else after watching a short video on TH-cam is jaw droppingly presumptuous. Where she's from and her age are, frankly, none of your concern and not factors that a stranger could use with any accuracy to determine what she should do with her life.

I'm so disappointed by all the negative comments on this video. SYTTD and their affiliates chose to showcase a young woman working with/through her struggle in order to pick out a dress she's wanted for a long time. Whatever she chooses to do to cope with her OCD is her call and commenting in a pitying way doesn't help her or anyone who relates. This was brave of her and I hope her hubs knows how amazing the woman he gets to marry is 😌

I don't know why you don't have a sample book filled with all the different elements. And the book is divided into three, like children have and represents the top, middle, bottom. And people can sit down and mix and match and come up with the elements of the dress and then you start with that. You could also print it up and put it on a board and give the bride colouring pencils so they can colour the copy while they are waiting and gives them something else to think about it, like art therapy. Then you can autograph it and they can take it home. Also saves time. And it can change as the appointment goes on. That way there is no back and forth and less frustration, stress and anxiety.

David's bridal had something like that when I got married. (Are they still in business or bankrupt?) . You'd create your avatar with your weight, height, hair, eyes etc and then "try on the gown". You could even choose a ballroom or formal garden background. It really helped me.
