This is definitely an album for existing fans that dig drift
I love Drift but this new album is a hit or miss imo, there are some songs that don't do anything for me and also I miss interesting tropes of the solo guitar and complex structures
@@HardDisposition I totally disagree, and I love the complex structures they used to do, but I also know that after doing the same thing for years you end up getting tired, and to play those songs live requires a very high level of concentration and attention and you don't enjoy it. entirely the musical part. I think they are still doing interesting things.

great pure reaction. this album is a grower on me. needed some playthroughs until the softer vibe clicked
I hear elements of HEALTH during some of these tracks, but with the signature ERRA facemelter riffs that we all sorta expect at this point from Jesse X.X
Slow Sour Bleed is immediately in the top 10 of best metal songs of 2024. Hot damn JESUS!
Man, this was refreshing. I've watched most of the reactions to this album, from big channels to smaller ones and this has hands down been my favorite. Everyone seemed to be in the same boat of not knowing how to feel about this record but it was awesome to see someone truly enjoy the experience ERRA has to offer. Great work and keep sweating it out! 😉I'll be waiting for what you've got to offer next.

Great reaction, really enjoyed it! Although I love Cure as an album and Stone Sour Bleed, I still think their Selftitled is their best work. If I did understand correctly, you have not checked it out? Would love to see your reaction.
You should definitely listen to their album drift! Cure was a very experimental album for Erra, they’re usually wayyy more prog oriented :)

@@churder Drift is easily and still my favorite album by them but I would rank them currently as:
1. Drift
2. Self Titled
3. Cure
4. Impulse
5. Augment
6. Neon (even though my favorite song Unify is on this album.)
Also just cause Neon is last doesn't mean it's bad. Any ERRA album is goated, it's just the weakest in my opinion.
@@churdereverything they’ve ever done is 10/10 imo. I’m an Erra oldhead so I’m partial to their first two albums Impulse and Augment. They had another guitarist named Alan Rigdon at that point and he and Jesse combined to come up with some of the best riffs in the history of prog metal
