Yeah, there’s people wringing their hands and acting like it’s hard to like them because they aren’t literally the most perfect prog band, I don’t get it
I agree that it’s crazy how many people are hating on it but I think it’s also a bit of a stretch saying this is Drift 2.0. This is unlike any album they’ve released with JT. More groove, less technicality in the riffs. Lower tuned, less of Jesse’s piercing vocals. I think that’s ultimately why people dislike it. However, I love it. I think they needed a change. Rumor of Light and Wave are some of my favorite Erra songs of all time already. This album is a completely different vibe compared to past albums. Drift, Neon and ST were all very similar from an instrumentation standpoint.
@@Tonybob_Skinnyjeans I think Wave, Glimpse, End to Excess, Idle Wild and Blue Reverie sound alot like Drift imo. And all 4 songs have riffs for days .
This album is so good! Waves end in particular, although not necessarily heavy, the grooviness and Jesse's vocal. Its just perfect its up there with Shadow Autonomous singular moment.
Such a good album. This is my absolute favorite band and have been listening to them for 15 years. I love that they keep evolving and that, at the end of the day, they are still putting out great music. And to those “purists” that don’t dig the new sound, I say, let bands evolve, let them experiment, the albums you love are always there to listen to. If you love these guys and their musicianship you will respect all avenues of their art.
I will admit I was disappointed at first. But like the self titled I gave it a second chance and it heavily grew on me. Watching the interview where they explained every song and there overall vision for the album really helped me as well. I originally said 7.5/10 but im going up to a 9.5/10. My favorite has to be Wish into Glimpse absolutely peak ERRA right there.
Beautiful reaction, dude!! I was hyped to watch yours specifically 🙏 I love this album so much! Tons of tearjerking moments and also times where I'm off my feet going nuts 🤣 ERRA did it again, baby!!
All the purist fanboys need to chill tf out, let Erra explore different sounds and ways to make music. We can always listen to Impulse and Augment for the old sound but people need to stop shitting on something because it doesn't fit their narrow view of what a band should do.
Not for new songs but for a new full album yes. Id imagine they will do a deluxe with 3 new songs and 3 covers like the self titled next year. And then a standalone single or possibly an ep teasing the sound of the next album.
I can't believe there's people who call themselves Erra fans who are hating on this album. It's a hauntingly beautiful album. Well done, Erra.

It isn't even experimenting, people are just mad it isn't as heavy as self titled
Rumor of light reminds me of Wage War
Slow sour bleed might be the best erra song ever.
3 years till the next one xD
