That album got so much better after time. I understand why some people consider it boring or uninteresting, but let's be real - it requires a particular type of mood. Now it got to a point where i can't even choose the best song off that album, the best vibecore(road trip type) album of this year.

It is such a good album. Definitely the biggest grower out of their discography for me, but once it hits home, it's home.

Wave is such a banger, outside of the singles, it was definitely a standout track.. I was surprised you didn't feel the same but it's a track I come back to pretty often

As is often the case with Erra, it really does grow on you. As you listen to it more often you get more into the lyrics and overall ambience. Definitely delicious for me.

This album gets better and better over time. Incredible album and my personal album of the year (so far).

Wish/Glimpse is my fav. I still miss the older Erra style, but i love them still. They've inspired a ton of the riffs i've been workin on!
    Another killer video, steve! :)

Also, LOL. I was about to comment and say "does rumor of light remind you of spiritbox at all?" and you instantly said "reminds me of spiritbox." Got my answer lmao

I was pretty worried about this album not loving really any of the singles. Now having listened to the whole thing a few times I really love it. I miss the riffs dearly and the technical guitar that made me want to buy a 7 string. But damn this album is gorgeous. When I’m in the mood for some beautiful metalcore, I know what to put on. Masterpiece in my eyes personally

Fun fact, and I'm surprised not a lotta people noticed: the "I'm not the only one, who waits alone" pre-chorus and post-chorus of Idle Wild? Yeah, those are JT cleans. Mofo's got them highs, man! Man's got enough highs to make me feel like I'm walkin' on clouds

I chose not to listen to the last two singles until the album release and I think it made a massive difference in how I perceived it - they're the two heaviest tracks on the album, so the whole thing felt fresh and varied to me. I totally understand how someone who heard all the singles would feel a little underwhelmed at first listen. Smart and cozy analysis either way Steve! Always a joy to listen to an album with your videos.
It really does get better with every listen and there are no "skip" tracks for me. Album of the year for me so far, but I'm not sure it will stay. There's a couple of (potentially) amazing records coming up, Red Handed Denial and even AURORA come to mind.
Btw, Pale Iris got a new mix in the album version, which I'm sure you've heard since recording this. It sounds amazing and fits so much better with the overall tone.

Literally in my top 3 albums by ERRA. CURE, Drift and Impulse all fit my vibe currently. There are no albums by them that are below a 9/10 imo

I think you're right about the general album being cool but uninspiring, but individual songs being great on their own. To this point, I think Crawl Backwards is my favorite, and Wave has REALLY grown on me.

Loved the album, and they really nailed it in for me seeing them live the other day. Vids are up on my channel. They killed it!

For me this album is better as a whole than the individual singles had me feeling it was gonna be. ERRA is probably my favorite band in the genre - and one of my favorite bands ever - but, outside of Blue Reverie, the singles were just...good, not great, for me. However the album as a whole is genuinely great, I think; not as great as Augment or Self-Titled, but great as an evolution beyond what they did with Self-Titled. Glimpse is going to hit so hard live (seeing them in two weeks fuck yeah,) and End To Excess is easily my favorite alongside Blue Reverie and Wave.
Needless to say, I've listened to the album a ton over the last month and will continue to listen to tracks from it into the future. Definitely a delicious album for me, and has me interested how they continue to evolve on future tracks and records

I liked, wasn't in love with the singles. The album dropped and it started growing on me. Saw them live for the first time Friday in Houston, and they were absolutely incredible. Can't get enough of the album now

Totally missed this reaction vid amongst the others in your library...but it's crazy how yours was the same as mine after hearing Past Life Persona for the first time.
It has an argument for being the best song ERRA has ever written.
As much I enjoy JT's vocal energy, Jesse is just so vocally talented, and that song carries so much raw positive emotion.

The past two ERRA albums have been 'listen through' albums for me, in that there isn't a dud song that feels like filler. I will say I prefer S/T to Cure, but only because it has songs like Electric Twilight and Lunar Halo, two vastly different songs that make me feel a specific way every time I listen to them. Cure has Wish/Glimpse and Wave that do that for me, but not to the same extent. Either way, I do really enjoy the new ERRA. I hope with the next album Jesse gets more positive inspiration and in turn that makes for more fast songs, hopefully with a bit less djent feel. Don't mind it, just not every song.

This album is fantastic. Not my favourite ERRA album but still solid. Favourites are Past Life Persona, Blue Reverie and Glimpse.
Love that Idle Wild is basically a Drift throwback, and Wave shares many elements with a Neon track, especially that intro.

Slow Sour Bleed is my favorite track on the album. Over all not too shabby. A bit samey but that's pretty typical for Erra. Doesn't mean I don't love them. They just aren't a one sitting album listen band. Much better when sprinkled into a playlist of various artists.
@Steve O'G have you done Beartooth's 'The Surface' album or any song from them yet? They've come a long way. Just not sure if they aren't metal enough for this channel or not. It's fantastic overall though. Check out Riptide, Doubt Me and Might Love Myself.

This album is great, but they've given themselves the impossible task of outdoing their self-titled album. It's just too much of a monster.
