He worries that Russia has seen multiple incompetent and weak leaders before him and he may represent the last chance for Russia to expand behind a great conquerer before potentially coming across another string of weak leaders and fading into obscurity. Ukraine directly borders the bulk of the EU and poses a more direct threat towards them, in part due to holding close to half of the global nuke supply and threatening to use them in the event of direct NATO interference. While what Israel did is not okay, I don't believe Israel ever threatened to use nuclear weaponry. In addition, the two states have historically had a lot of conflict, so I don't believe there were any major concerns of Israel going beyond Palestine.
@@OfficialPikadex So you're saying the main difference is that when Israel invaded Palestine, they never threatened the use of nuclear weapons and didn't invade neighboring countries so that's why they didn't apply similar sanctions and that somehow justifies a different response? This just seems hypocritical.
Love the info! We were talking to kids about the situation yesterday and my 10 year old wanted to know why we didn’t just send troops and I didn’t have the greatest answer!
20:40 My opinion as a Ukrainian: Ukrainian military support funds like "Come Back Alive" are the best methods to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in this war, since Western countries refused to give Ukraine long-range options like modern missiles and aircraft. The stronger the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the faster the rashian occupational army will be defeated.
18:53 I'd like to remind everyone that Anarchy is not a synonym of Chaos or Barbarism. It's a Greek term meaning "no master". It's been a leftist political ideology for hundreds of years, having a lot to do with classical libertarianism, communism, and socialism. The simple rundown is to reach a communist society without using the power of an elite, centralized, authoritarian party. This is where Anarchists mainly split from Marxist Leninists AKA Tankies. In fact, anarchism is used as an adjective to differentiate different strains of ideologies from more authoritarian ones, for example, Anarcho-Sydaclism, Anarcho-Primitivism, Anarcho-Communism, etc. It's a very interesting and broad topic to look into, and I highly recommend the channel Zoe Baker for more information.
Thx my man. It should be stressed that NATO has drawn a hard line against intervention in Ukraine. That includes indirect action as not sending old MIGs to Ukraine. NATO however is strengthening its “border members”, especially the small baltic countries. However EU (that is not a military union, but a political/economical), is sending weapons and money. So: nuclear war is highly unlikely, as Ukraine is left to fight for themselves. As you point out, the hope is that the massive economical sanctions against Russia will bring some sense into Kreml. That will however take months. So the deal for Ukraine is clear but cruel: hold out.
The problem is 10% of our oil is from Russia which is a huge amount and helps fund the Russian economy and therefore funding this war against Ukraine. We had a pipeline that was working. The world isn’t ready for getting rid of fossil fuel and so instead of us having our own energy supply we have to rely on countries that really don’t care about democracy or the environment.
Exactly. I’m in favor of transitioning to cleaner energy, but no country can do that overnight. Why do we force ourselves to rely on authoritarian oil resources when we can use our own until we’re ready to transition away from it?
@@kevo126 To be fair, energy policy isn’t really associated with “woke” politics. Just because something is supported by the left doesn’t mean you can just automatically call it woke
@@reup2532 yeah I disagree in this situation. Sure being green isn’t automatically being woke and that’s certainly not what I was saying. But choosing to go from energy independent to dependent on Russian oil is done for political reasons. Biden knew he had to scrap keystone and general oil production to appease the radical woke left. He just didn’t understand the consequences. It made no sense at the time and makes even less sense now.
Well Drift0r lad! Just a few things to say what's going on with the guerilla tactics is just like how we beat the English outta this country! (I'm irish) read tom Barry's "guerilla days" Second our boys in the 90's WERE using rifles to shoot down helicopters..........now they were barret 50 cals 😅 But my main reason for commenting is a question. Is what's going on with russia not wanting Ukraine to join nato, kinda like the cuban missile crisis (border wise not nukes wise) ??? Not supporting russia just an honest question
Because Russia had always been paranoid about NATO. And with NATO's history of military adventurism (see the clusterfuck in Iraq/Afghanistan) rather than any major deterrence against Moscow until the current invasion. Vlad is trying to goad NATO into an escalation with the possibility of invading NATO allies, namely Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Moldova. All four of these are former Warsaw Pact powers which if Putin is feeling particularly suicidal might claim in an effort to provoke Article 5 of the NATO treaty: "An attack on one of us is an attack on all." The last time Article 5 had been invoked was after 9/11. Thus, Putler is looking to poke the NATO beehive by essentially threatening: "Da, I am invading Ukraine, you will not get far without Mother Russia's nuclear arsenal. Come at me, Capitalist Pig-Dogs!" So NATO lands troops in Ukrainian soil, it's armageddon. If Russia puts troops on NATO soil, it's armageddon.
I've been seeing a lot of Americans talking about "just going to war" but I feel like that's just easily said when you live on the other side of the ocean and not anywhere near the battlefield. These same ppl probably couldn't even point out Ukraine on the world map 1 month ago.
The conscripts only being sent in would be nice but Russian spetzna soldiers tried to take the airport in Ukraine’s capital and they failed miserably so it’s clear to me they just aren’t as good as we are made to believe. Nuclear war wouldn’t kill all of us if you live in Africa or South America you’d be pretty safe you’d deal with global cooling due to nuclear winter but humanity wouldn’t be wiped out.
FYI, russia has common border with NATO since 2004 (Baltic countries) and no one cared. So, this is no threat. There is no expansion either. Georgia had put their application in 2008. Since then there is no progress on this matter. As to Ukraine- we were told multiple times since annexion of Krimea in 2014, that there the Ukraine doesnt qualify to join.
The situation of Ukraine joining NATO making Russia worry is understandable. I mean USSR once try to build a base and move nuclear weapon to Cuba and looks how nervous US become. So, similar situation with Ukraine joining NATO.
I think this was a calculated move. The Russian government knew what NATO would do, and currently holds the bargaining power here. I can only guess what their true objectives are
A little ironic that they say it's about NATO and that organization being too close to their borders. Yet they're the ones trying to take over a country that moves their borders even closer to more NATO nations. Granted, those new borders wouldn't make it possible to build missile silos or the like closer to their major cities which is supposedly the mindset.
There’s definitely a morale difference between soldiers. While outnumbered, Ukrainians seem to know they have nothing to lose and causalities are expected as they’re the much smaller nation. With the Russians, the soldiers probably don’t want to fight this war and the large amount of casualties are embarrassing to them. The Ukrainians are backed into a corner and they’re honestly really badass.
Liked the commentary, but I don’t know if Ukraine is really winning. They’re doing well for their situation, but I don’t know if they will fare well. I think you’re right about the conscripts. That’s what I think is going on.
It took Russia 7 days to even take a city. Ukraine is exceeding expectations at every turn. But of course, the war isn't over and anything could happen.
I have to agree with the U.S. decision on not taking direct action. I do believe Putin would launch if U.S. troops and armor went to Ukraine. Hell, I'm not even certain it would be on Ukraine. I wonder if it would be on a NATO country as an act of revenge before launching something else into Ukraine.
People seem to have a very optimistic view about the outcome in Ukraines favour which I don't buy tbh. Also somebody put a vid out about how this could be the end of Western financial domination. There are many countries out there who oppose the west and will take the route of pursuing their own financial system for e.g. I think China has their own SWIFT equivalent so others are bound to find their own surely.
The thing is its exactly that you are right with the meme but its very real.. its going to be at a point where it will be either Ukraine or whole world population, and this is indeed very scary
From a Europe perspective : First of all, western nations are not devided, we are pretty much all have the same perspective. Attacks from NATO are completely out of bounds currently, as this would create a WW3 scenario in Europe and no European country is willing to let escalations happen to that point. US for example did try to get Ukraine to the NATO and Germany and other European Countries denied that as this would cause a bigger scaled war, as Putin even sees Ukraine as a thread without joining the NATO. Not to think about what thread it would be if they were in the NATO. Startegically it is unfortunately the case that in the 90s there were promises not to let join countries on the border to Russia into the NATO and the NATO did ajoin many countries and got very close to Russian borders. That's why Putin sees himself in the right position. The nuclear thread is very delicate for us European and our leadership has a goal to prevent more escalation on every possible price, without giving into the blackmails of Putin. If that's not working, we are fucked here. The US is pretty save so Biden has the more easy part on deciding and judging currently. But we know and see that US and NATO forces are being moved to NATO borders facing Russia so there is preparations for the scenario if all deescalation fails.
@@georgecarlin2656 well thats quite a pretty Interesting text and information you show. As I am not able to really check the facts, I consider this as a possible truth. As for my perspective, I was Investigating a bit deeper in 2013/2014 when the Krim annexion was happening and there were plenty of hints, that it's not Russia trying to devide Europe but US. I read big parts of Brzezińskis The grand chessboard, that describes the strategies of United States to keep EU devided forany geostrategic reasons. Brzeziński was also consulting US government for many years, so it makes sense to know about him and his strategies. Which totally match the behavior US and NATO since the 90s. But the attack of Putin, is probably not only caused by the results of US/NATO passively threatening Russia, or Regime installations in Ukraine. Even though I remember after Krim annexion, the word spread, that fascist groups are trying to take over the leadership. This was somehow a forgotten topic in the last years.... As well as the status of Ukraine that was not communicated at all, at least in Germany. We simply distracted ourselves as usually. But even with this in mind, I cannot accept Putins decision to attack a country and kill civilists because of geo strategic banter. We have to face the truth that Putin himself is also a dictator as there are so many more on the globe. And a war against nazis, while threatening a jewish Leader of Ukraine is quite a contradiction for me in first place. I am not living in Ukraine and I don't understand their language or their way of life at all. But I think that they need to settle their internal issues themselves and as far as I know, they have more ways to decide what they want than Russian citizens. And this is reported all over the media's and by friends of mine that are from Russia and confirm that there is a dictatorship as well as a big fascist mentality in Russia as well. And these are first hand informations I got.
Eh about the 90’s point. There were never any promises to not let countries bordering Russia join NATO. Gorbachev in an interview confirmed this and it makes sense as nobody expected the Soviet Bloc to fall and switch to democracy so fast. I mainly see it as if Ukraine joins NATO it hurts Putins standing with the public and risks his regime getting toppled and he’ll do anything to prevent that from happening.
On the topic of the second amendment and the whole civilians with rifles vs. tanks and planes: at the end of the day, you can't occupy a country if you don't have people on the ground. You can hide from air superiority. Tanks can be disabled or destroyed by very basic things. No amount of air power helped the US "win" Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan. Currently in Ukraine they are defending against an attacking force, and many more attackers are dying. Russia will eventually take Ukraine if it continues, but they are being bled as they do it. And then they may have to deal with fighting an insurgency, which Russia has shown they are willing to do, but it will drain them heavily and very much reduce the morale. At the end of the day you need the support of the people you are occupying, and despite a percentage of pro-Russia population in Ukraine, I don't really see them being a majority and life isn't going to be better under Russian rule. They've been putting up a good fight. I bet they would have been better off if they had more of a civilian 2A style culture. That's exactly why Finland has mandatory military service and civilians can own semi auto rifles and don't have magazine capacity limits.

Forget Israel, America has treated others' sovereignty/democracy with impunity. It's just politics.
Love the info! We were talking to kids about the situation yesterday and my 10 year old wanted to know why we didn’t just send troops and I didn’t have the greatest answer!
I love the new direction your channel is taking! Keep it up
20:40 My opinion as a Ukrainian: Ukrainian military support funds like "Come Back Alive" are the best methods to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in this war, since Western countries refused to give Ukraine long-range options like modern missiles and aircraft. The stronger the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the faster the rashian occupational army will be defeated.
Been waiting for this one for awhile. Glad you finally are doing a video opinion
Appreciate you talking to us!
thank you from Ukraine :)

Very proud of you in this video driftor!!!
Was about to chide you for an assumed superficial opinion, but you are pointing out the right logical incongruencies. Good use of your platform.

Nobody cares nerd
Anarchism is and always will be retarded
@@PumpDisUp I should have remembered I was posting this on a Call of Duty channel

I’ve been here almost 12 years or so keep goin bro
See you in another 12!
It’s crazy how Europe and Joe Biden voluntarily decided to be dependent on Russian oil. When woke politics become more important than real wars.
@@reup2532 These people watch too much fox news, anything bad is woke to them
@@reup2532 yeah I disagree in this situation.
(I'm irish) read tom Barry's "guerilla days"
Second our boys in the 90's WERE using rifles to shoot down helicopters..........now they were barret 50 cals 😅
But my main reason for commenting is a question.
All four of these are former Warsaw Pact powers which if Putin is feeling particularly suicidal might claim in an effort to provoke Article 5 of the NATO treaty: "An attack on one of us is an attack on all."
The last time Article 5 had been invoked was after 9/11. Thus, Putler is looking to poke the NATO beehive by essentially threatening: "Da, I am invading Ukraine, you will not get far without Mother Russia's nuclear arsenal. Come at me, Capitalist Pig-Dogs!"
So NATO lands troops in Ukrainian soil, it's armageddon.
There's a reason we've been around for a while
The conscripts only being sent in would be nice but Russian spetzna soldiers tried to take the airport in Ukraine’s capital and they failed miserably so it’s clear to me they just aren’t as good as we are made to believe. Nuclear war wouldn’t kill all of us if you live in Africa or South America you’d be pretty safe you’d deal with global cooling due to nuclear winter but humanity wouldn’t be wiped out.
You may prefer the War strategy, until you got drafted.
Thank you for your support! 🙏❤️ Let's cancel russia!
Not to mention that nations undergoing a domestic conflict are ineligible due to the troubles that could arise from direct NATO intervention.
I love this opinionated stuff even if I dont agree its nice to hear driftor speak his mind.
What do u not agree with he literally did not give a direct opinion lol
Does this mean you support Russian's unprovoked invasion of a sovereign nation?
Driftor talking about miss information: "videos of Russians taking out citizens. Ukrainians taking out citizens" me: hold up what?
The situation of Ukraine joining NATO making Russia worry is understandable.
I mean USSR once try to build a base and move nuclear weapon to Cuba and looks how nervous US become.
So, similar situation with Ukraine joining NATO.
And UN Security Council tomorrow gonna talk about the bioweapon Russia found in Ukraine and US funded. So oh boi oh boi….
Came from pka Your a great creator!
I agree with you on 1 thing. Putin did not send in his elite airborne para’s yet.
False, see my comment

Liked the commentary, but I don’t know if Ukraine is really winning. They’re doing well for their situation, but I don’t know if they will fare well. I think you’re right about the conscripts. That’s what I think is going on.
It took Russia 7 days to even take a city. Ukraine is exceeding expectations at every turn. But of course, the war isn't over and anything could happen.

Great video driftor I really appreciate you and your thoughts peace out have a wonderful day
Wow! Hello from Ukraine 🇺🇦
been a year, when I getting my bot farm deep dive
I have to agree with the U.S. decision on not taking direct action. I do believe Putin would launch if U.S. troops and armor went to Ukraine. Hell, I'm not even certain it would be on Ukraine. I wonder if it would be on a NATO country as an act of revenge before launching something else into Ukraine.
There are several NATO members that borders Russia
Yea that’s kinda the point
People seem to have a very optimistic view about the outcome in Ukraines favour which I don't buy tbh. Also somebody put a vid out about how this could be the end of Western financial domination. There are many countries out there who oppose the west and will take the route of pursuing their own financial system for e.g. I think China has their own SWIFT equivalent so others are bound to find their own surely.

Captain Obvious: War is bad. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

From a Europe perspective :
First of all, western nations are not devided, we are pretty much all have the same perspective.
I mainly see it as if Ukraine joins NATO it hurts Putins standing with the public and risks his regime getting toppled and he’ll do anything to prevent that from happening.
next video: “the 3rd world war. MY OPINION!”
So in 2022 we swap dropping into verdansk for dropping into donetsk FOR REAL!
I LOVE DRIFTOR OPINION VIDEOS
