As with all psychoactive substances, it has negative effects. Just as caffeine and especially alcohol. The reality is this: It's way less dangerous then most other allowed substances people comsume daily and it has some health benefits other drugs like alcohol don't have. If you're skeptical, think about this: How many drunk people have you seen that beat each other and then compare to how many stoned people you've seen. There, easy.
I had years to suffer because i was addicted heavily (psychologically). It was and still is a very tough fight but I am very happy to be able to go out and have long days climbing at the rock, finally working and doing a lot for university. When smoming a gram a day back then I barely had enough energy to go for a walk, instead I would sit at home playing origins all day or recording music when I had enough energy. Also no creativity loss in music through stopping. I went even more productive.
@@42ZaphodB42 Alcohol is the substance doing the biggest social damage in the world, it is the devil. For my body personally weed is worse tho, as I am addicted to weed and cant control myself, whereas i am not addicted to alc, so my enemy is weed... sadly... I would love to be able to just smoke occasionally... But it always leads back into wake and bake in the end...
As a daily user, I'm really happy you made this video. People who smoke, more specifically younger people who smoke, never want to acknowledge the downsides of it and think that they're totally ok. Smoking pot is arguably the safest vice a person could have, but that does not mean that it comes without possible side effects.
@@TheRealPots Oh absolutely, its subjective to the individual smoking it for sure. Theres broad similarities that can be made from stoner to stoner, but some people just have negative reactions to it unfortunately.
@@stonedperson97 I am sadly one of those unfortunate people, I'm borderline allergic to it. My first time smoking pot was with a bong, one hit and I was in the bathroom throwing up for 2-4 hours and afterwards I passed out. At first I thought it was just because it was my first time and that I took to big of a hit but sadly that wasn't the case. At a later date I tried taking a small hit off of a friends blunt but again I ended up in the bathroom. It seems my body just doesn't like it.
@@TheRealPots true. I honestly can't use Marijuana because I get so anxious it's crazy. I also get panic attacks. It's funny because I didn't try it until I was 29 and it was the first time I ever experienced really bad panic and anxiety attacks 🤣 so it was a big no no for me.
Not necessarily related to the video, just wanted to thank you for setting the example of presenting the facts regardless of personal bias, and being professional. I've been watching you for almost a decade now, since a teenager and in that regard you've indirectly taught me a lot about how to conduct myself properly and professionally
Thank you. I suffered from several psychotic episodes in 1999 induced by cannabis usage. Its great that you put this info out there next to the other onzes.
A previous relationship of mine broke down due to weed, I’m all for recreational and medical use but when you watch somebody smoke 8 joints in a day everyday, you watch them gradually decline in their mental health and their personality completely changes. For people to say there are no negative effects is highly ignorant. This is a great video. She also had the syndrome with the vomiting etc, at the time there was minimal research into it too.
@@Rustyshackleford752 yes mate. My previous partner had it after smoking soo much weed. She lost loads of weight and couldn’t stop being sick or keep anything down.
@@jamiemills6070 well my wife acquired this affliction after getting pregnant with our only child and hasn’t been the same since, weed is the only thing that keeps her any kind of level thiugh
I currently smoke, got diagnosed with depersonalization and drug induced psychosis, the stuffs real guys he hit the nail on the head. Was recommended to quit for 2 years but havent been able to shake it. Talk to psych nurses or therapists, psychiatrists.. they can help you. Be safe yall. Also, fentanyl is a common one used to lace, very potent and lethal. Get ur drugs tested if its from the street. Great vid as always.
I’ve had pretty spooky derealization. Granted, it was a mix of weed and anxiety meds that triggered it (essentially a kind of xanax that doctors say NEVER mix with other substances). It can range from amusing to frustrating to scary feeling like your life isn’t real, but most days I take it in stride. It helps me treat life like a video game and do things for the hell of it, because what kind of game would it be if you just plateaued and didn’t do anything the whole time? Don’t know if others have experienced this for a long time, this started over a year ago for me.
I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about the downsides marijuana, not in a "be scared drugs bad" sort of way but in a very objective, informational manner. Weed makes me paranoid and I've even had a panic attack because of it, something that almost NEVER happens in my regular, daily life. When I bring this up with weed smokers, even friends and family, it's not uncommon for them to tell me I just smoked the wrong strain and I'll feel fantastic if I try a different kind. They won't acknowledge that it can effect people negatively. People just need to be more informed and acknowledge there are downsides to weed, however small, minor or rare they may be.
I have not seen a video of yours in a while , I instantly clicked on this for the title. This was definitely worth the 23:40 mins, awesome job on the topic!
I quit smoking weed last month and before that, I tried dabbing for 2 weeks. Like 2 hits a day. Once I quit I had a weed anxiety attack and I couldn’t sleep at all until 7:30AM. I had major withdrawal symptoms. I couldn’t eat that much at all and I didn’t go out that much at all because of feeling anxious. I’m never smoking weed again. Plus it probably dropped my vitamins low because smoking weed makes you feel full so i didn’t eat in the morning. I only ate at work because I worked in restaurant. Also you will get anxiety if you have withdrawal symptoms. The first 2 weeks were tough but it gets better around 4
You also forgot to talk about a major problem that occurred with me and that’s a huge brain fog, it was hard to concentrate and really try to study academics and was one of the main reasons I quit
I’d call myself a marijuana enjoyer. But people who either try to say it’s completely harmless, or their agenda is just “alcohol is worse” pisses me right off. I’m glad I watched this, you are so informative.
I’m alright with the legalization of marijuana, but what drives me absolutely insane are the number of comments I’ve seen from people INSISTING that “marijuana isn’t a drug, it’s a plant!” 🥴
God, that and the whole “marijuana isn’t addictive” nonsense. Yeah, it’s not chemically addictive in the same sense as heroin, but it’s insanely habitual. Most people who smoke weed do it all the time because they miss the high, sounds addictive to me. This is coming from someone who does it sometimes but turns down the offer more often than not
Have you ever had that argument with people (irl or on YT doesn't really matter) where they say that and you fire back with "yeah, and so is Opium and look at where that got us" and wow do they _not_ like that. Like I'm all for legalizing almost anything as long as A) people are held accountable for it, B) I'm not held accountable for someone else's incredibly foolhardy choices, and C) there are regulations on what is being sold (because things like Coke makes people ((usually)) violent and etc) so no one can cut in dangerous products to get someone to buy a more addictive substance. Basically it's like "you can buy a soda at a liquor store without having to buy any liquor nor are you pressured to buy liquor from said store" if everything is on the table, that's the (from a consumer pov) safest way to do things. How all of that will be taxted… who knows. But I do enjoy whenever people bring up that weed is better "because it's natural" but freak the hell out when I like… talk about taking vitamins as a thing I do. 🙄 Also I know more than a few people who 100% think they know what they're doing with mushrooms and... holy hell I'm not a chemist and I value my own sanity so if I get near anything that is "natural" (when did this become such a huge defense of marijuana anyway? It's been an argument I've had since college in 2010) it's going to be exactly as far as weed and not step into things that can absolutely permanently eff with my brain chemistry. Why people who _aren't_ chemistry degree havers, or worse, _who flunked_ those classes think they can microdoes… why? Why do they think that's safe?? Who lied to them?
I use delta 9 everyday am 22 and started at 17, been smoking daily for ab 4 years, with slight gaps in between, but I get very vivid dreams, and can remember them and detail them the next day to people
Also, I definitely suffered from emotional addiction to pot when I was younger. If you took all the diagnostic criteria I met and switch weed with alcohol I’d have been an alcoholic. I lost my job and almost got kicked out of my parents house because I couldn’t stop smoking. Obviously I wasn’t physically compelled to smoke but I wanted to continue even when faced with the near certainty of these consequences. I had no sense of moderation either, so a quick toke at midnight before a 7:30 shift in the morning turned into a 30 minute session and staying up till 3am eating junk food. That said, I have no issues with smoking pot now, so my emotional addiction could’ve been mostly attributed to my young age, immaturity, and mental health factors. It still had a big impact on my life, regardless of the reason. Threw me off track for several years before I got it together.
It fucked with my emotional regulation once I had a child I heavily relied on it to get through being a 19 year old father while working full time but I seen a therapist and now work out to help with my emotions and smoke for fun every once in a while when I play video games I feel you man
Been smoking marijuana for about 26yrs and have never had any bad experience with it. Its been all positive for me. Dont over do it smoke responsible and smart and you wont have any issues with it at all.
My favorite thing about your content is how objective you seem to keep things. Everything from the stats you'd give in the old Black Ops 2 weapon guides all the way to this topic, it's all facts and any opinions are clearly stated as opinion. I respect it
If Drift0r switched gaming related content for topics like these and his lucid dream series, I wouldn’t even miss the game stuff. Drift0r you’ve been my longest subbed channel, that I don’t think I’ve ever left and came back. Appreciate the years of consistent, great content. Thank you.
Agreed, I am a heavy user but I'm not addicted and I agree to the extent that moderate use can lead to depression, especially if your going through a ton of trauma or had trauma to a limb or body part. Weed isn't for that, drink instead
Great video as always drift. What really resonated with me is the iq lowering aspect. I’m in my early 20s and have been smoking pretty heavily since I was 17. So I get the dulling effects of both the use at a young age and heavy dosage. This sounds like I should stop, and that’s probably true. But the problem is, it’s the only thing that even slightly helps with my depression. I was even able to acquire a medical card for this reason. Before trying weed I’ve went through multiple different antidepressants and therapists that just did nothing or worse. So unfortunately it feels like I’m stuck in a sort of catch 22 where I have to either live my life walking around dead inside where I don’t enjoy anything, or hit dabs all day to be happy at the cost of my long-term logical thinking and lung health. I mainly stick to dab carts these days with the occasional joint, and I can feel the effects it has on my lungs (throat is sore/wet sometimes; coughing). I’d do edibles but unfortunately they have no effect on me. Not quite sure why I typed all this out, just wanted to get it out there and hopefully you or someone else might see it. Keep up the good work man.
I empathize with you. I have been sober for a while, since it seems to make the people I care about less concerned about me, but I had a time where i would hit anything with thc just to feel like maybe anything had a purpose. I hope you find happiness, and can walk around a little lighter
Man, you could keep doing content like this and I would absolutely still keep coming back. You have a great scientific brain and research everything you talk about and I'm sure many other viewers love this about you. Do what you want but keep up your consistency with research and we'll still love you for it, cod or not
I'm emotionally dependent on Delta 8. It reduces my inhibitions, which is the only thing I have ever wanted in my life, and it got me out of suicide. I usually don't go any higher than 30mg since it just lowers my blood pressure and tires me out, but the 25mg pills I take on a regular basis really bring out the fun parts of my narcissism. I have gotten a lot of insights from my experiences with Delta 8 and it is low-key scary seeing the mental imagery symbolizing my cynical narcissism corrupting every innocent and pro-social idea I've ever had and making it look cool. Spoke to the Devil a few times on this substance (played by Robert DeNiro, naturally) and his main points are: 1. Keep your head in reality 2. You are as powerful as the ones you respect 3. Grandiosity is hubris 4. Don't feed the trolls 5. Despise the free lunch and never do favors
I quit smoking Mary about 8 months ago but before that I was some sort of high for 99% of the past 8 years. We all can recognize its still fantastic, but I'm glad there's finally someone who both recognizes that there's still negative aspects about it AND has the platform to finally make that known to the smooth brains who automatically act aggressively to anyone saying that there are in fact unfortunate negative effects of consuming this beautiful plant. Edit: The reason I stopped smoking it is exactly because of those negative impacts but I have a very unhealthy lifestyle and once I get that under control, I plan on resuming my use in moderation because it absolutely can cause a better quality of life mentally even with the unfortunate negatives.
Pro Weed for sure but you’ve been very objective which I appreciate it because people either demonize or talk holy about it w no side effects. For me personally the only downsides I’ve personally realized is slight memory loss, loss of appetite/increase of appetite and in one case extreme vomiting Jesus that was the worst day ever but surpassingly working out high is one of the best experiences I’ve ever felt and it works amazingly for me not sure about others! But ty for just being a very interesting and very genuine person for all these years of watching
13:29 My friend's cousin has drug-induced schizophrenia. He started smoking weed to control the pain of his rheumatoid arthritis, but now when he smokes he has psychotic episodes where he thinks mysterious people are out to get him, so he freaks out and leaves town on a random bus. We've found him days later in another state. Not a good situation and getting him to quit is extremely difficult. Great information and video 👍
DRIFTO HAPPY THAT YOU CHANGED YOUR HEALTH & channel content to drop gems likes this keep up the great work bee. Smoking since 14 I am 28 & most of these facts were unknown & I am a very research knowledgeable typa person fit work out 4-5 days out of the week
Thanks for making this video. I use to say I wasn't addicted but now I realize I am emotionally addicted mostly because it makes me feel not depressed and gets rid of my anxiety, when you feel good thats what takes you.
yeah weed is 100% addictive when i was 17 i was like BOOOO no way but now at 26 i can tell its definitely addictive i quickly found out after a while you get extremely restless and easily angered if you cant get a smoke like i just cant sit still and focus on anything without smoking a lil somethin first
I suffered from chs (cannabis hypermesis syndrome) and it's not a condition you get for a couple hours. It's a recurring issue that only goes away if you stop smoking for a few days, some people have forever, for every time they smoke, some people recover (as myself, for now) and can keep smoking after quitting for a few months. The vomiting is terrible, and can be fatal, only because you vomit up to 40 times a day, and obviously that will severely dehydrate you, which is why one of the symptoms of chs is kidney failure. The condition can be fatal, but it's not the weed that kills you, it's the dehydration from uncontrollable vomiting which leads to kidney failure. It's a long lasting syndrome, and there has been a "confirmed" death due to it that i am aware, i am not sure though, but I am glad you mentioned this, maybe some people will watch out on how much they smoke
Hey driftor LONG time fan of the channel, this was a great video. I'm a connoisseur of sorts for over 2 decades. And every topic you have covered I have either experienced, and you've shed more light upon them. It would be incredibly fascinating if you could reach out to those people that have suffered that depersonalisation. Their thoughts and opinions , especially their personal experience on it.
Idk about y’all but I love driving while high. Windows down, music off or low, listening to my car exhaust note. Something about it is just hella satisfying. Also I find that no matter how much weed or carts I smoke, I never become addicted to them. I often take tolerance breaks with ease. Never had any withdrawal symptoms.
I agree with your points 100%. I am a heavy user, or was for a few months and I can say without a doubt if your a child/teen or are a pregnant woman, don't smoke weed. Also depression... ...depression can be amplified by weed a ton. That's why when I feel sad or am thinking about past events I don't typically smoke or pull out the pen anymore for heavy use. I find it only smoking half a bowl/3 huffs of the pen can just relax myself enough to just sleep on it and think about it with a clear mind. But that's what I do, everyone is different. Other than that great video!
I disagree with the depression part IV had suicidal tendencies and attempts and other mental health issues and it helps massively but I think if you don't have any pain or mental illness then you shouldn't smoke it
@@sonnyhutchins3141 funny thing you should mention that. I have a acute pain syndrome I can't remember the name of, need to get that checked out by a doctor sometime. Basically I'll either feel like I'll throw-up and or will have a random pain somewhere on my body. It can be literally anywhere but it mostly happens in the torso area of my body Edit: not dying and it doesn't keep me down for long, like 5-10 mins at most
Drift0r you’re such a good TH-camr, I’ve been watching you since the black ops 2 days. I’m really upset that your videos haven’t been showing in my recommended recently, so I’m making sure to have notifications for you from now on. Such organized and thought out content… something that very few produce nowadays. I’m actually taking a “tea” break right now and I always feel better and less sluggish when I am perfectly clean. I suffered from a lot of bronchitis waaaayyyyy too many times and I think I’m my adult life I’ll stick to the edible form, since I’ll be able to afford it. Thanks Drift0r.
As someone who used to have a drinking problem and quit years ago, I think its crazy that alcohol is legal and Marijuana is not. Like 95k people die a year in the US due to alcohol.
You can't base alcohol or the like on your own experience. Because your own experience isn't a good way to learn. I don't drink alcohol every day or even every week. I usually have 1-3 drinks each month. And no one in my immediate family drinks alcohol often. And there's only one person in my extended family who has an alcohol problem. I'm not alone in my alcohol consumption. A lot of alcohol problems has to do with internal problems. Not the alcohol itself. It isn't inherently bad.
@@noobbotgaming2173 Alcohol itself is literally poison for your body, there is definitely something wrong with it. And the big problem is society pushes it as something great and its completely engrained into social behavior. When people drink too much people cheer but in reality people are walking a road to destruction.
Honestly I didn’t know about half of these things! I didn’t start smoking heavily until two years in college but now it’s more of a once or twice a day type of thing. I will say though working out high or better yet smoking after a working out personally helps me with all the soreness that comes afterword. I even smoke before I dance because I feel like I “feel” the music more lol but I have experienced an increase in heart rate and the dreaming thing kinda blows. Overall very informative video and I do hope they do more research on marijuana in general!
After using weed daily in various forms for the past 2 years, I only have 2 side effects. And that is when I’m not high I’m not hungry lol and I sometimes have short term memory loss but only to small things like what did I eat this morning.
for me, trying to lose weight but also using marijuana medically, to help with anxiety and insomnia, its really hard with the munchies. Excellent video driftor!
Yup. Found that out the hard way. You absolutely can get addicted. I have used it daily for the last two years. I took about a month break recently. I didn't notice anything until about the 3rd week. My anxiety was through the roof and had really bad insomnia.
I would like to point out that you a vape the Marijuana herb. This helps avoids the issues with vaping the oil and burning the herb. Just watch the temp! Thanks for pointing out the dangers.
You know watching this video very much helped me and made me feel better about marijuana and the effects it has on you and I’ve definitely had some of the points he mentioned for example most of us experience it getting anxiety is one thing and it’s good too know it can kill you but still nevertheless thank you for all the valid points you have made about it and I’m not gonna lie I am a stoner but I don’t smoke everyday and taking rips off dabs will be less before and I don’t know if it hasn’t settled in yet but I am actually pretty smart for being a stoner and hey man thanks for this video it made my days better from now on and much love and support too your channel you have made many peoples lives better
one thing i want to mention is @ 9:23 when you talk about motor skills that indica or sativa plays a pretty large factor in how this is perceived. Indica will be the more drowsy and lazy type of high while sativa is a lot less and a bit more of a proactive kind of high. not trying to discount your point just pointing something out.
I prefer to use a dry herb vaporizer. Which seems to be the most healthy way to "smoke" it from the research I did. Also got the munchies try using Listerine usually helps.
DELTA 8... has been helping a lot with my chronic pain, but it does make me sleepy and hungry, which is a small price to pay for pain relief that works. Thank you so much for the Delta 8 review video and great information. 👍
I had depersonalisation from smoking everyday, the worst thing I’ve ever been through, I’m okay now but still get it for brief moments, scariest thing ever, happened right as my mum died so I think that’s the reason, smoke about once a week now and it still happens but only for a few minutes, if this happens to you please stop now for at least a few weeks it’s the worst thing ever if it gets out of hand, so glad you meantioned this
It’s strange I’m contemplating using for my newly diagnosed chrons disease. Been watching you since the bo2 in depth videos. Never thought another coincidence to find you again would involve this 🤣❤️
@@Drift0r only discovering the layout of what the disease is in of itself, smoking helps the chronic pain. I can eat and gain weight back, just as there are many pros, can come with many a con. Wishing the best for you Dr1ftor ❤️
Very interesting stuff, I have seen people around me change after they kept smoking and smoking and smoking. I'm not against it at all though, I am for it really, but it certainly is something that needs to be kept under control. Addiction hardly ever does any good. It's not for me though, regardless of the strain it can put me into a full frenzy anxiety attack. Not all the time but definitely worse than 50/50. Which sucks because I didn't have that the first time and I quite liked that first experience.
Just got to the part in the video where he's talking about CHS! Thank you so much for spreading awareness! More people need to know this, it's very debilitating. Warm showers are temporary solutions BTW! It only calms it down for a while but it will come back! If you continue your usage patterns it will come back :( so go seek medical help as there are prescriptions that can help more than hot showers :)
I started smoking at 18 and this is the slimmest and most in shape I’ve been. Weed actually helps with my appetite sure it causes you to over eat but whenever I don’t smoke I don’t eat anything at all so it balances out and I’ve actually lost weight without trying
Thanks for the info…long time smoker and most of these I was aware of. One thing that did surprise me was the dream suppression…I am a heavy user and I dream like CRAZY. Have been disabled for 12+ years and use heavily on a daily basis and dream of my old job almost nightly.
Honestly I want to quit just for the dreams. I'm a lucid dreamer and have been practicing for a few years (my interest in dreams started way before that though) but my lucid dreams are few and far between because of how much weed I smoke. I miss those adventures I'd go on. If I knew how smoking effects dreaming I wouldn't have even started smoking. Sadly I'm addicted and keep binging it for comfort
A 17 year old Indiana kid did die from Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome related symptoms. I have the condition myself and have dealt with it for the last 5 years after first smoking for 10 years with nothing bad happening. I manage it now by only smoking 4 or 5 days a week in moderate amounts and avoiding dabs at all costs
I use 20mg delta 8 edibles here in Texas a few times a month. I didn't start using delta 8/marijuana regularly till I was 21-22. I have fortunately never had a problem using these products.
Weed tends to heighten my social anxiety, I don’t really know if this is due to paranoia or what. It also just makes it difficult to communicate with people, I’ll zone out halfway through someone’s sentence while I’m trying to analyze their facial expression to determine if they’re angry at me. I think my experiences with weed are a bit unique cause I’ve never heard someone have the same issues. Nowadays unless I’ve had a considerable amount of alcohol first, getting high isn’t a pleasant experience. Weed always heightens my inhibitions, so I need a lot of alcohol to balance that out.
Hi Driftor we’ve talked before because I have thoracic outlet syndrome also and I’ve been looking into ways to relieve the pain some more. Is delta 8 helping with that pain specifically?
I use to have cannabis hyperemesis, it usually happened the morning after smoking and lasted most of the morning, it did not happen right after consuming
Drift0r, I love the video, I support legalization 100%, we need to know more about it to help mitgate the risks overall. However. When you said “dumb as hell” I lost it cause your texas showed so hard on hell, keep up the great videos man and thanks for the great content and the laugh.
One point he didn't mention is the paranoia. Also I've experienced most of this, the dreams are kinda wild it's crazy how much you start remembering after you stop smoking
As a daily smoker i do see the negative effects and wish someone had told me before i started smoking everyday. My side effects often include - loss of motor skills (unstopable shaking like im cold and stuttering for 10min to an hour) - irritability & - feeling heavier anxiety when i dont smoke - cant sleep till 5am but will wake up at 9am to smoke more (my entire sleep cycle is FUBAR) - irrated lungs - waking up with a minor acidic pain like feeling in my stomach At this point i smoke more cause i need to than i want to. I often find myself hating to smoke weed but at the same time know i cant survive/function without it. I just turned 21 in February, and theres still lots of things i like to do but cant cause i either have to go smoke for 3 hours or i dont want to ruin my high that took 2 hours but will only last 20 minutes. Too much of anything usally aint good. Moderation is key
I agree with most of what you said besides the part where you said it doesn't make you a better athlete . Now in some sports I might agree but for combat sports thc is good for the recovery process and during the combat itself it makes you more limber there are many sports that thc and cbd are a benefit. I was a long time athlete and stoner starting at the end of highschool. I was definitely one of the people who thought I could smoke as much pot as I wanted to and nothing would happen to me this lead to many other drugs the people you may not have hung around before weed all of a sudden seemed like the people I wanted to hang out with ,. This was a gradual slippery slope that I didn't realize was happening . By the time I got out of this state of being perma-Stoned it was 5 years later and had to check into a mental ward due to suicidal ideology. Now this is not weeds fault it's the other things I found along the way . I know many people who can control themselves when talking about illicit substances. I am one who can't and takes things to the extremes I loved weed and everything about it. If I can give whoever reads this one piece of advice. It will be pretty simple.. "once it gets to a point where the moment you wake up you reach for a bong before a glass of water" you need to carefully evaluate if you are using it as a crutch to get by in life. As far as laced weed most dealers are not going to waste money on lacing weed with drugs I think it's much more likely to have messed up weed from contaminated soil or improper storage
Very very true! On all the information!!! But I did learn more I had no idea they could get moldy ! But yes it’s good and bad . Now that I’m older I can tell it does mess with my lungs and mental health and blood pressure. I used to be able to smoke like crazy . I was that person who just got more focused but now I think it was the depersonalization kicking in because I have notice it a lot more .
I got depersonalised from an acid trip ,I didn't realise the technical term at the time ,but what you have described fits the brief perfectly .This went on for months later coupled with anxiety attacks
i think the addiction part is more of a habitual addiction instead of a chemical addiction. i’m addicted to it, i smoke my fair share every day. but i recently went on a two week road trip to vegas and phoenix from canada. the first night in vegas someone gave me a joint that me and my brother smoked, and that was it for the whole trip. at no point did i have a craving to smoke, i just thought doing some of the things i did would’ve been better after smoking, like watching a show or going out to eat. but sleeping was fine, my mental state was fine, i felt relatively fine the whole time.
Gaming high is amazing. Games like Cod with SBMM suck because u need reaction time but games like wars battlefront, runs slower and u can really chill out
I was prescribed baclofen recently for my spasms , reading the side effects it said in large bold writing . Many patients have tried to kill/harm themselves while using this medication 😳 it alters your state of mind . After 1 hrs I felt a change and stopped taking it , I smoke weed even though it’s illegal in the uk . I only get munchies 😂👍🏻
Just don't go overboard with it. Once or twice a day is enough. Every hardcore weed smoking friend I have, got psychologically addicted (they had an extremely hard time quitting with up to a third in weight loss) and they look and sound like they're asleep all day. You're definitely getting lethargic after years.
Baclophen is a weird one-lots of people here in the States like to prescribe it as an alternative muscle relaxant (as if it wasn't more or less addictive/causes less falls etc than the other non-opioid muscle relaxants) and yet, for me, personally, I react really poorly to it. It's more in a "I'm allergic to this" kind of thing (because I get sick in a similar way to antibiotics I'm allergic to and it's mostly my body trying to get whatever it is out of me) but my body full on rebels. That being said, there are a lot of muscle relaxants/medications that were for X thing (like seizures) that were discovered to be good anti-spasm medications that absolutely cause an uptick in self harm/death (which makes sense, I suppose, that something like Neurotin can cause that, since it's first discovery was to stop seizures). Honestly if you read the back of the box of anything that legally has to put it there (so afaik a vitamin company doesn't have to list the negatives of valerian root) something like Ibuprofen (Advil) sounds like it'll turn your insides inside out when we've all probably taken some Advil when we've gotten hurt and needed to reduce swelling-assuming nothing else we take conflicts with it. There are a lot of medications that alter our brain's chemicals enough that it's unpleasant but not so badly that whomever is taking it ends up as part of that warning label. As far as Baclophen altering your state of mind… so does weed, just differently. I have friends who can't function because they are so used to having their emotions blunted from trauma (because why go to therapy and smoke weed when you can just smoke weed) that they can't get off of it without breaking down. :/ That we (as a species) haven't studied it enough to know how it might effect people who have gone through XYZ (such as people with PTSD) it makes it so people who smoke/take any amount of weed are doing it because it's "a natural remedy" as opposed to other prescribed medications that have been studied to know how it effects people. We don't have tons of research into weed because it's illegal to know how many people might have tried to kill/harm themselves or might have accidentally hurt themselves because of anxiety related attacks because it's not legal to study.
i actually developed chs (cannabinoid hypermethis syndrome) 2 years ago...i have been hospitalized many times due to the kidney failure because the nausea is so bad that i couldn't keep anything solid or liquid down... i would lay in the hot shower for days it was the only thing that kind of helped the nausea.... just very unfortunate for me because marijauna helped me with my mental illness's... some people don't believe it's real or exist or is caused by marijauna but it is.... it's super rare an even my dc said im his first patient he ever diagnosed with having it.... now i smoke maybe 1 time a month an im fine but anymore then that i will feel nauseous for like 3 days after an risk a full on bout an going back to the hospital... im still 100% pro marijauna but am glad that you brought it up because so many people have said it's not real
been wanting to quit smoking gas for a long time… its been tough ngl. but i have been using it less and less so hopefully quitting all together will be easier soon 🙏🏻
Huh, iv been smoking weed almost consistently sense about 16 or 17 and I'm 26 now and iv kinda been thinking my T might be low...I'll have to get that checked out when I can
I am an ER nurse and the ER doctor was talking about cannibinoid hyperemesis one day. We had a patient that had this condition and we did not know it when he presented to the ER. We ran labs, asked health history, did a full work up. He never told us he smoked weed and after getting the lab results back, nothing came back abnormal. So the ER doc said I think I know his problem, cannibinoid hyperemesis. He stated 99% of the time, when there is no other diagnosis that can be explained by health history, lab results, or environmental factors, it is cannibinoid hyperemesis. It occurs almost exclusively in patients that are withdrawing from marijuana. I walked with the ER doc to the patient’s room and he was like, “Sir, keep it real with me. Are you withdrawing from weed?” And the guy proceeds to say he stopped cold turkey after a long period of use. There is no cure for it. Anti-emetics don’t help at all but the one and only thing that has been said to help is a HOT shower. The guy was discharged and called the ER back about 6hrs later and said after a couple hot showers he felt better
I am pro marijuana 100%. But when people say “there are no negative side effects at all” drives me nuts.
I smoke it for my essential tremors.
Biggest negative is mofos really just be lethargic potatoes that play games all day
Source: myself
Smoking pot is arguably the safest vice a person could have, but that does not mean that it comes without possible side effects.
while i do agree to an extent i think it basically comes down to the person, some people just take it different.
Like what i smoke dabs
Not necessarily related to the video, just wanted to thank you for setting the example of presenting the facts regardless of personal bias, and being professional. I've been watching you for almost a decade now, since a teenager and in that regard you've indirectly taught me a lot about how to conduct myself properly and professionally
Same. I started watching this man when I was 12 and I'm in grad school now 😂. He still looks the same too
Same dude! Drift0r is the 🐐
I really relate I’ve been watching since he first started
What? its just as related to the video.
Are you talking about cyclic vomiting syndrome….my wife has this
@@Rustyshackleford752 yes mate. My previous partner had it after smoking soo much weed. She lost loads of weight and couldn’t stop being sick or keep anything down.
Jesus man, idk how people can do that honestly but every person is different.

Lol 9:43 “so DOOBIE careful” 😂
I have not seen a video of yours in a while , I instantly clicked on this for the title. This was definitely worth the 23:40 mins, awesome job on the topic!
Thanks man:)
That's depersonalization
I’d call myself a marijuana enjoyer. But people who either try to say it’s completely harmless, or their agenda is just “alcohol is worse” pisses me right off.
I’m glad I watched this, you are so informative.
Well alcohol is worse lol
I’m alright with the legalization of marijuana, but what drives me absolutely insane are the number of comments I’ve seen from people INSISTING that “marijuana isn’t a drug, it’s a plant!”
🥴
Dissociation is so scary and is 100% real. It’s like a loop you don’t know how to stop either, I would describe it as “lazy town”

Thanks for this video, I’ve experienced the good side effects, and the bad, and very bad, I was hooked for a while, and have now quit cold turkey
Moderation is key. Overuse of cannabis does have mental health effects and can contribute to depression.
Yup

Spoke to the Devil a few times on this substance (played by Robert DeNiro, naturally) and his main points are:
1. Keep your head in reality
2. You are as powerful as the ones you respect
3. Grandiosity is hubris
4. Don't feed the trolls
Edit: The reason I stopped smoking it is exactly because of those negative impacts but I have a very unhealthy lifestyle and once I get that under control, I plan on resuming my use in moderation because it absolutely can cause a better quality of life mentally even with the unfortunate negatives.
my guy you are a GENIUS. Gameplay in the back whilst giving a speech
I know of a guy that smoked weed before, now he’s crippled and can’t live a normal life. So sad

It would be incredibly fascinating if you could reach out to those people that have suffered that depersonalisation.

I didn’t start smoking heavily until two years in college but now it’s more of a once or twice a day type of thing. one thing i want to mention is @ 9:23 when you talk about motor skills that indica or sativa plays a pretty large factor in how this is perceived.

Any recommendations of cbd gummy’s for arthritis pain and sleep issues that are legal in Louisiana. Marijuana is not legal here unless it it medical.
Hi Driftor we’ve talked before because I have thoracic outlet syndrome also and I’ve been looking into ways to relieve the pain some more. Is delta 8 helping with that pain specifically?
It helps with pain and blood flow but only temporarily
@@Drift0r thanks
I use to have cannabis hyperemesis, it usually happened the morning after smoking and lasted most of the morning, it did not happen right after consuming
Does delta 8thc give some of the effects of delta 9 thc?
I like the editing of this video
Drift0r, I love the video, I support legalization 100%, we need to know more about it to help mitgate the risks overall. However. When you said “dumb as hell” I lost it cause your texas showed so hard on hell, keep up the great videos man and thanks for the great content and the laugh.
One point he didn't mention is the paranoia. Also I've experienced most of this, the dreams are kinda wild it's crazy how much you start remembering after you stop smoking
As a daily smoker i do see the negative effects and wish someone had told me before i started smoking everyday.
My side effects often include
- loss of motor skills (unstopable shaking like im cold and stuttering for 10min to an hour)
- irritability &
- feeling heavier anxiety when i dont smoke
- cant sleep till 5am but will wake up at 9am to smoke more (my entire sleep cycle is FUBAR)
- irrated lungs
- waking up with a minor acidic pain like feeling in my stomach
At this point i smoke more cause i need to than i want to.
Excellent video
How does it help with Crohn's? Everything I've seen it says that it makes it worse?
Not sure if I agree with the "lowers your inhibitions" part.
That’s bc you forget lmao
@drift0r you missed the perfect opportunity to release this at 4:20.
I would just like to add that dry herb vaporization (such as the volcano) avoids combustion entirely and mitigates most issues associated with smoking
Just a heads up, you can definitely still get lung issues from it. I know firsthand. Definitely better than smoking but can still affect your lungs.
@@LivingDeadbeat Agreed, that's why I said most not all
Too much of anything is bad. Anything man made will definitely fail you. 💯
Great vid!
Good on you man keep up awesome content go Texas
Pop Tarts with Cool Whip... this is a game changer that needs its own "In-Depth" episode before it gets nerfed.
i think the addiction part is more of a habitual addiction instead of a chemical addiction. i’m addicted to it, i smoke my fair share every day. but i recently went on a two week road trip to vegas and phoenix from canada. the first night in vegas someone gave me a joint that me and my brother smoked, and that was it for the whole trip. at no point did i have a craving to smoke, i just thought doing some of the things i did would’ve been better after smoking, like watching a show or going out to eat. but sleeping was fine, my mental state was fine, i felt relatively fine the whole time.
Gaming high is amazing. Games like Cod with SBMM suck because u need reaction time but games like wars battlefront, runs slower and u can really chill out
Lucky for me, I never vaped nor smoked weed.
I had my bud laced with PcP years ago. It was the one of the worst experiences in my life
I Too get nightmares horridly vivid death one at times, and yeah suppressing dreams, is a blessing
i actually developed chs (cannabinoid hypermethis syndrome) 2 years ago...i have been hospitalized many times due to the kidney failure because the nausea is so bad that i couldn't keep anything solid or liquid down... i would lay in the hot shower for days it was the only thing that kind of helped the nausea.... just very unfortunate for me because marijauna helped me with my mental illness's... some people don't believe it's real or exist or is caused by marijauna but it is.... it's super rare an even my dc said im his first patient he ever diagnosed with having it.... now i smoke maybe 1 time a month an im fine but anymore then that i will feel nauseous for like 3 days after an risk a full on bout an going back to the hospital... im still 100% pro marijauna but am glad that you brought it up because so many people have said it's not real
Not gonna lie, the COD gameplay in the background while talking about weed is cracking me up lmao
been wanting to quit smoking gas for a long time… its been tough ngl. but i have been using it less and less so hopefully quitting all together will be easier soon 🙏🏻
