Clean ground in dirt on plastic

Jeff, I have a favor to ask. I work at a school, I’m a female boss over 10 custodians who were previously employed under a man. I’m trying to let them know I appreciate them and to activate in them the custodian that they can be proud of. We used to be #1 on the clean list now we are 3! There is lack of motivation. I can only lead my example but I want things squeaky clean. Ugh can you help me come up with a team building exercise that could possibly help activate the awesome in them?? Help😢😂❤🎉

I haven't forgot about you. Got a vid idea rolling around in my head about this and other related topics. First of all leading by example is key. My question do they show you respect? As for as motivation that's up to them. Now if there not doing there job give them a warning. Then if it continues write them up. Now here a very important thing I believe. What is your definition of #1. Do they know your expectations? Here is what I have learned. My definition maybe different than someone else on Cleanness. So being clear and reasonable on what you expect out of them as a team. Never ask them to do anything your not willing to do and they see you do. Respect goes a long ways. As for as getting them to where you would like will take time if they have not been use to do so and have been able to slack. some want like you very well with change coming. Just stay patient and true to yourself.

@@mrjeffthecustodian I agree with all that. I believe that they were slacking for a bit because we were not fully staffed so there were excuses. Oh my goodness. But yes I live by example. They know I won’t ask them to do something that i would not do myself. A lot of them have been here for over 20 years so they are tired and worn I guess. So I’m trying to make it exciting, and definitely make sure they know they are appreciated! One new hire was misbehaving and I nipped it in the bud real quick . Lol that lil’ turd hahaha
