Who needs a clutch? Start it in gear & float it all the way home. I had a clutch go out in a fully loaded dump truck 15 miles from the terminal. The mechanic said they wouldn't pay for a tow, so I drove it through traffic, construction & a few stop signs. Had to get in granny gear for those. I love Scenicruisers. As a kid I took a week long trip in one our church chartered. I thought the "upstairs" was the coolest thing ever! Thanks for restoring a piece of history. Your wife must be a saint. Hey! Awesome bus. I'm glad you're preserving it. It will make an awesome RV. Your wife is great to let you do this. Any progress? We'd love to see an update.
How much does it cost to have a clutch put in? I would imagine that they towing cost a pretty penny. Or did you just want to do it yourself? I commend you for taking on this project, I am in love with old buses, hope to get one soon so I can get started.
The eyes say "Ottawa, IL" but the brain read "Ottawa, Canada". That's probably why I drive and not navigate!!! Good luck with this project. Sure, it'll seem like a bottomless money pit at times, but then the project starts looking a million bucks.
Why? Because you can't afford one, you don't have the vision it takes to see the project done before it ever gets started? What do you do for a living, put rude comments on peoples videos? How nice for you, does it pay well?

+Bryant Ford Me,too, on loving them riding them (fifty years ago, though.)
Maybe the clutch started slipping so bad the bus simply would not move.
I think he meant, the clutch burnt out. The bus cannot pull itself around..
These old buses are way cooler than anything created in the last 30 years.

That looks like the Kankakee Harvestore silo headquarters back in the 60s.
Oww! That tow cost had to have been a wallet buster! It takes a big rig tow truck to tow a big bus, that can be an easy $1000 or more!

You must have really racked up some tow bills or you have the worlds best road service insurance.
