This objection theme doesn't sound as 'loud' or 'glorious' as the others, which fits Susato greatly. Unlike the other lawyers (Phoenix, Apollo, Athena, etc), Susato doesn't really need that energy to make an impact. She's already shown as a calm, smart, and knowledgeable character before, so her objection theme reflects that. If the other character's themes are fire to vitalize your spirit, Susato's theme is like the calm lake with sakura petals falling on it and making a little ripple.
I really thought we were going to get at least one more Ryutaro case. I thought Rei was going to be a lot more important too, considering how big she is on the cover art, but she only appeared once. I wonder if they planned to focus more on Susato in Japan during development.
iirc TGAA was supposed to be a trilogy like the others, but due to internal problems, it was rewritten multiple times, and ended up becoming a duology instead. There might be a chance that "Ryutaro" and Rei would've made more appearances, but were cut during production, which if true, is quite unfortunate.

The first female attorneys in Japan didn’t come about until the 1940s. So it’s not that they threw the potential away. It’s just that looking back on what history shows

The only gripe I have with this game is that this theme only plays like twice (also we never see "ryutaro" again after the first case and also the first case is the least important to the plot of all 10 cases in the two games).
It does still set up some of the mysteries for Resolve once the trial is completed: Brett's motivations are again in the focus, what kind of influence does Great Britain have on Japan that a confessed murderer can just walk around freely, Susato asks why she was called back to Japan, and then there's the fact that Kazuma's body disappeared. My main gripe is how what finally gets Strongheart is holograms and handheld wireless communication. Circa 1899-1900.

They made such a great character design, a fantastic theme, and recorded all the usual lawyer voice lines, just for the shortest case across both games :( and I agree about the deus ex machina technology, but I'm mostly fine with it since it's at least science fiction rather than the spiritual possession nonsense in the other AA games, which clearly has no place in a court of law lol
@@tysonfontanez What's really different about sci-fi compared to magic? Spirit mediums exist in Ace Attorney, and plenty of nonsense occurs in the courtroom. Remember how we cross-examine a parrot in the first game? The playable lawyers basically have magic powers. The Magatama is a lie-detector rock that's helpful in gathering information, Apollo's tell spotting leads to new testimony, Athena can....see emotions (I don't remember DD well).

The physical assault Phoenix goes through, the constant insults, the straight up forged and withheld evidence, the constant perjury by almost every witness, witness tampering.....they're not serious games. I really wish Maya had had a case like this to show her own skills without Nick's help. It would have been great and cemented her role as a valued assistant more.
Well, it's kinda a traditional rhythm in Ace Attorney tracks. It's the beat to Objection 2001, too, and is also heard in Ryunosuke's Objection theme and as an integral part of 5 pursuit themes.
it is a CRIME that this only plays in the first case. This is my favourite Objection theme in the series, and it plays a grand total of 2 times in the entire game. I don't care if it would have destroyed the plot, this should have played more. Maybe in a theoretical TGAA3 it'll play more, but I doubt that will ever happen.

I disagree tbh. Ryunosuke definitely fits better as the protagonist imo. And as far as potential goes, while susato is impressive for how educated she is for her age, I think you could argue that what ryu managed to achieve in just a year without ANY knowledge in law at the start of it says more about his potential.
Imagine composing a whole-ass new Objection theme, and it's an absolute banger, but then you end up only using it twice during the tutorial case.
