  • Change of plan. Winter Wind and the footage you have not seen. We take a last look at the footage from Karpaz before we sail North West , if we can sail North west that is!
    Welcome to our channel.
We are now in season 7
In 2018 we left the UK to sail around the world slowly. After Brexit, a "Pandemic" and major heart surgery we are still sailing, documenting our travels and showing you what we have learned so far.
We are hoping to complete our journey, and travel right around the world even if we have had a few setbacks along the way. We will continue at our own pace and that may be fast or slow. We want to be sure not to miss anything and have stories to tell our grandchildren when we are old and grey.
Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
We do have a second channel YOUR DRONE TV It is a mix of music from classical to blues, from Opera to Punk all with stunning drone footage.

I partly agree with your rant, yes the big corporate businesses should be held accountable for their part in the pollution problem. I also think we as people should not discard of our waste into the oceans. Here in the Netherlands we have a deposit on plastic bottles and drink cans and it seems to work.
I do believe in picking up trash from beaches and the water whenever I can, even if it's just a little.
Back in 2018 I was crew on a big 60ft sailing yacht, there was a little 8y/o girl on board that wanted to go to the beach with some friends from other boats so I offered to take the. rib and bring all of them there. Once we had picked up kid number 5 one of them noticed a big block of styrofoam floating in the bay, so off course we picked it out of the water. After that it became a competition between the kids to spot find and retrieve as much garbage from the bay we could find. Long story short we never got to the beach but we did pick up enough trash to fill 7 big garbage bags, we even had to ask a random boat if they had any garbage bags for us to fill.
I think we burned about 10L of fuel and spent the entire afternoon but those boat kids knew they were doing a good thing.

The kids love beach cleans. there is a video of one we organised back in Almerimar, Its a shame that they have to do it though. Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

I agree. Companies making plastic bottles shift the cost of the litter on to the rest of the planet, when they should be held responsible for the problem their product creates.

Here in Puget Sound i don't see much of this. When I do I pick it up as do many others. We have found that the decomposition creates particulate in the water and it collects in the sea life. I do like the idea of deposits on bottles both glass and plastic. Creating the economy will create the industry. Further the manufacturer should be required to recycle the returns.

Yup we’ve certainly gone backwards coming forwards for convenience consumables. Fish n chips in newspaper, hot drinks in a mug or cup instead of polystyrene boxes, paper carry bags etc. Don’t start me off….. when I was a lad….🙄

@@SVImpavidusOh god, and a penny for a big bag of batter bits cooked in beef dripping, and not in bloody toxic seed oil. Bliss.Regarding plastics in general.A very large investigation into the problem of Plastic Waste started in the 1960’s after we were warned that within Ten years, every Beach on the planet would be 30 feet deep in Plastic Waste, luckily, we still had mostly Real Scientists back then, so in the 1970’s when I was doing my Civil and Structural Engineering HND their Research Findings had made it into the HND Course - In the meantime, another puzzle had cropped up which had also been investigated - Where was all the Plastic Waste Disappearing to, because the stuff was noticeably failing to show up 🤔
      So where to start ?
It was failing to show up, because the UV Light was breaking the plastic down into - Water - within 12 months, it was gone from the surface, and no such thing as micro plastics were mentioned, because if there were any, they too would break down into Water. We call this effect on boats - Osmosis by the way.Far Worse, the maximum life of underground plastics was put at 90 years, befor they were gone as well. The intensive use of Underground Plastics started in the late 1960’s which means by 2040, all plastics below the surface are going away ! Think about the implications of that. In the meantime, if we build enough Plasms Gasification Recycling Plant with Syngas Production of Waste to energy production of Ultra Clean Synthetic liquid and Gas Fuels, Metals, etc, Waste Plastics are actually a precious Feedstock resource, and everything needed is affordable, and is presently available literally off the Shelf.Beaches, Wasste Bins, and landfill need to be cleaned up, and Plasma Gasification can enable it, at much lower cost than Stupid Wind and Solar Farms, which can’t even recover the Energy used in making and installing the things.😡😡😡 Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟❤️

Fantastic plastic, for me it still is. It's the people who throw it away. Maybe a 1 Euro deposit will help, i don't know. Hope you can leave soon. Stay safe 👍⛵

Yes bring back glass bottles with a deposit. Although when in Germany I saw that you could take plastics to supermarkets (Lidl) and feed them into a machine that reads the barcode. You then got a printed voucher to use in the shop.

Interesting! There were no plastic bottles when I worked there back in the 80's. Sail Safe.
