I was beginning to wonder if it would happen! Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Lot of potential there, good luck 👍
Hope your diary's free 😅😉😘
Excellent, love a good modular railway 😉 Great to see the return of New Junction!
Had to catch you up 😅
So glad to see you back. Hope to see the ' Junkyard ' return.
Good idea
Great to see New a Junction Mark2 up and running. I was happy to see this video pop up on my TH-cam recommended video list.
Great to hear!
Good Morning ,
I am a bit late to the scene ,i retired over a year ago and always wanted to build my own model railway, the only space i have available is a single garage and it is a bit smaller than standard ,15ft 6in x7ft ,i should just about get the curves around if i hide them with scenery, buildings ,etc,
Your layout has given me some great inspiration, fantastic work ,thanyou.
Good to see you back - it's a long time since you played Loving Caliber's 'Constellation' over the top of you dismantling your layout. Not a dry eye in the house!
Let's hope we don't have to dig it out for this layout
Prosperity and abundance is just around the corner for you..... happy building....
Heres hoping! 😆
Excellent looking forward to more, Dan speaks so quickly I got a job to catch what he’s saying 😟 great talented chap he is.
He's a lot to say haha
well you have a blank canvas, and so many ideas to work with. will be great to watch what you do with it.
Good to see you back Richard!!!
Great to hear from you as always Onno, I hope you're well! 😊
FINALLY! 👍
Great to see you back.
Nice to see you around in your own layout, your going to be a busy boy what with your day job which I would imagine is full on your garden layout. And now this. Good luck with the exciting now project I loved following old new Junction so I'll look forward to seeing this one. Take care Eddy xx
Thanks Eddy, plenty of content for you to watch haha
Nice to see you back.
Thanks
Hi ya mate
Great to see new junction back and Great to see you back were you belong giving us all fab videos.
Peter
Thanks Peter, hope you and the fish are doing well!
Hi richard
Unfortunately ick creeper in and wiped the fish out in 24 hours so gave up on the fish tank sold it and put my money into buying a very nice ex exhibition layout in n gauge so now all the n gauge stock I got given has a home.
Hope you arian and the little one are doing well.
And congrats on the new baseboards they look brilliant.
Peter
Hi ya buddy, great to see a start on the new 'NEW JUNCTION'. Was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen what with all the other commitments, the day job, garden railway ect. Looking forward to following progress with some of the challenging ideas. Good luck, keep safe and catch you soon, regards Bobby'T'.
Thanks Bobby! Hope you're keeping well!
Excellent return to New Junction. Nice base and a good idea for exhibition use.
Thanks Ian!
Richard this is brilliant, I built a layout about 12 years ago before TH-cam, social media was popular, realise now that I made lots of errors at the time and I'm going to start over this is going to be great to help me thanks again Maura
Thanks, will you film the new build?
@@NewJunction Richard I'm not sure as I wouldn't be anywhere near as good as other modelers it is my hobby but I would be glad to send you pictures and maybe if ok to ask questions
@@mauracurran6500 feel free 😊
Good to see you back, cant wait to see what your track plan looks like.
Ditto haha
Glad to see you back!
Thanks
i used to watch all your videos and forgot its been this long - can't wait to see what the new layout looks like
Thanks for tuning back in Cliff!
Great to see you back. Best wishes for the forthcoming build.
Thanks Scott 😊
It's great to have you back!
Thanks 😊
Really good to see New Junction resurrected, I also love the idea of the 6 boards connecting for exhibition purposes, giving me ideas!
Someone mentioned a York style railway museum, definitely gets my vote. Can’t wait to see what you create,
All the best
Graham
Thanks Graham!
The greatest challenge you will face is finding the time. Fatherhood catches you anytime you turn around and think you have a minute. 😁 It is awesome to see the start of a new New Junction. Like everyone else commenting, I am just glad to see you are excited to be back at it and looking forward to what you create. Sadly or happily, the old New Junction is in the distant enough past, there won't be direct comparisons.
You're so right Anthony, lite one is keeping us busy although I know a few livestreams going on while I'm night feeding 😉😉
@@NewJunction Indeed. I am now a grandpa who babysits when time allows, and will babysit more when I retire in June and get back from the UK.
@@ModelTrainOutsider thanks for the offer of babysitting 👍 😀 😄
A blank canvas, there are so many possibilities. I like viaducts & aquaducts in the mix but I suppose that’s old hat now. Still looks good though. And proper signalling. Best of luck
Looking forward to seeing the progress on the new new junction. Liking the heritage railway idea to join the layout alongside the ECML theme. Richard
Thanks 😊
hi from down under...... cant wait to watch the progress
Hi Allan, won't be long 😊
I've been watching bits being made here and there nice to see it in one piece at last , Dan is a legend modeler
A man that can! 😊
Great to see you back!😎🇦🇺🇬🇧👍Looking forward to seeing your progress on the new, New Junction!
Thanks Max
Hi Richard. This is an exciting day for all of us who have followed New Junction over the years, especially for anyone like me who came back into the hobby through seeing your original video series. It will be great to see how your new layout progresses from day one. If it's anything like the first one, it will be truly inspiring and a great pleasure to be able to have a share in it. Kindest regards. Chris Moss
Many thanks Chris! Really appreciate it
Hi Richard,
I will be watching this build very closely, we moved house so I too took my layout down from the loft of my other house and a lot got broken so need to start as new, I will be doing a new layout in my double garage same as you 16tf x 8ft was not sure which way to go, this is great it will help give me things to think about and do, so thank you.
all the best Paul.
Thanks Paul, glad I could be of help 👍
New subscriber here, been a long subscriber of Everard Junction and found you through there!
I will definitely be clicking on the notifications as soon as they come in, love the baseboards and cant wait to see them unfold!
Thanks Jordan, good to have you on board!
Yay awesome mate nice one.
My layout is the same idea with the modular design, should be fun to see.
Baseboards look great too, glad to see you are making it able to come apart too
It had to be modular, can't let you have all the fun at an exhibition 😆
@@NewJunction haha!
Exciting to see the new ‘New Junction’ is finally getting underway. It must be difficult to find time for your own projects when you’re so busy with the day job. Wishing you all the best Richard and thanks for allowing us all to join you in your new build.
Thanks as always Andy! 😁
I’m ready excited, and it’s not even my railway. Keep the videos coming. 😊👍
Ha cheers Ian
Good to see you post richard, hope you and your dog are wel
canals or river would make a great way and easy way to join the board from expo to home layout, also a canal along side a heritage railway adds a time let age to it. great to see you on a new project. good luck
Good idea
It’s good to see a layout starting from scratch. Good luck. 👍
Thanks Martyn
Yay! New New junction is back off the ground! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome Tom 😊
Great video Richard good to see you have started building your new layout. Looking forward to seeing more on it. Good luck. - Nicholas.
Welcome back I look forward to following your progress.
Thanks Thomas
Good luck with the new layout Richard
Thanks 😊
Glad to see the start of New New Junction. The heritage line you thought about basing it on the Mid Hants railway (the watercress line).
Oooo food for thought, thanks
Hi Richard, great to see you back and very much looking forward to progress.. All the best, Chris
Thanks Chris
All the best Richard, with New Junction (Mk2). Looking forward to seeing your new build.
Thanks! 😊
looking forward to watching your new build, especially how you are going to join the scenic sections together.
No pressure getting that right! Lol
@@NewJunction I would probably kept that secret. But I’m guessing your day job exposes you to a lot of model knowledge. So really looking forward to seeing how you do that. And a bit of careful measuring to ensure the tracks all line up.
@@RowanTownModelRailway no harm in trying and failing at things, often viewers tend to be a step ahead of me and suggest an answer haha
Good to have you back Richard, exciting times for the reincarnation on New junction, so many possibilities 🤩 waiting & watching in anticipation 😃
Many thanks! 😊
And so the adventure begins!!! REALLY looking forward to this!!!
No pressure David!
@@NewJunction no pressure, just encouragement 😆
Excellent sir , nice to see a heritage line fascinating “Garage Mode” and “Exhibition Mode” oh and your twin 🤣
Glad to see you back and making progress. Looking forward to what comes next.
Cheers Chris, hope you're keeping well!
Great to see you back Richard with the new layout. Hard to believe it’s been 2 years since we said goodbye to New Junction 1.
Some very interesting plans you have in mind and I look forward to watching your progress and of course the Summer BBQ 😉👍
Summer, Autumn, winter and Spring BBQs please! Looking forward to watching your morning wood develop too! 😂
I was unaware that New Junction in the loft was long gone. Just terrible to see how far behind i am. I'll be sure to keep up with your new project. Best of luck!
Thanks Lewis, yep sadly now all gone 😢
Great to see you back Richard. Very nice looking boards. Birch plywood is the way to go. Mine has held up now for over 10 years without any issues. The ability to convert it to an exhibition layout is very cool, looking forward to seeing how that pans out. Good luck!
Thanks, did you treat your ply with anything?
@@NewJunction Not really. I'm usually too impatient and want to run trains. The parts where I've done scenery, I've typically weathered the track, then painted with cheap acrylic paint, usually either gray or brown depending on whats going there. So the closest I've come to treating it is basically bog standard acrylic paint that costs about $1 at Walmart here in the USA. Now my layout is sitting in a reasonably climate controlled basement, so you might want to treat it if thats recommended for where you live. The only baseboard issue I have ever had was one board needed a bit more support, and again that was down to me going, ah I'll add that leg later and got side tracked running trains. :)
Welcome back. Great start.
Thanks 😊
great to see you back. look forward to seeing the layout progress
Thanks 😊
Great to see you back in New New Junction, Richard! Looking forward to see your next episode! Cheers Dimitris 👍
Thanks Dimitris
I salute your ambition to be able to rotate 3 boards to create a single run, presumably you have to fit board 4 to 3 in the circuit garage build stage to get perfect alignment for exhibition run. For the fiddle yard entries will become board 6 into fiddle yard and board 1 into fiddle yard, so the circuit return curve board abutting board 4 also has to line up with board 1. In reality you will probably need two new curve boards to exit board 1 into the fiddle yard, life is far two short to get the level of accuracy needed for it to all fit together!
Yes! This is just what I need. Built my baseboards (not as fancy as yours) in feb 2020. Covid hit, prices jacked up and I gave up. Boards have been sat all built in the loft for nearly 2 years. Watching your progress will be just the kick in the stones i need to get my own layout back in play. Looking forward to seeing the progress.
You only live once so take that kick in the stones! 😆
So excited for this project! Very pleased to hear of the heritage line! All the best :)
Thanks Stephen!
Well done Richard. You have started now and your Fans will love this. It looked a lot bigger than the size you said 16 by 8 as mine is 20 by 10..I know how you feel with all them blank boards. It's really hard knowing where to start. But am sure you will sort it
Just an idea instead of cork use 2mm foam boards sheets and cover the lot in one go. Worth a look.
So very best of luck with the new layout. And just have fun Richard and plenty of laughs along the way..ENJOY..
Thanks as always Allan, hope you're keeping well!
@@NewJunction all good here..Thanks.
Good to see you back Richard and excited for a new adventure.
I can see a few colabs in the future of this project.
Looking forward to it 👌🏻
Heres hoping! 😁
Great to see New Junction back Richard , I look forward to following your build , Dave
Fantastic to see you starting over with New New Junction.looking forward to seeing it grow over the coming years
Good luck with the new build.
Thanks Christopher, I hope the family are well! 😊
Richard, it is great to see you restarting New Junction. I was sort of surprised to see that there isn't a lift out section on one of the ends. Looking forward to see how this progresses. Cheers - Larry.
Thanks Larry, maby on the next layout
Welcome back Richard . Looking forward to seeing NEW NEW Junction grow and learn new ideas . Stay safe and keep modelling 👍👍
Thanks Andrew!
Glad to see you back finally! Steam heritage on one half and an urban feel on the other with underground or tram would be great.
Nice idea that
My parents bought me a steam locomotive which came with I do believe 5 carriages when I was 8, I then bought a diesel with wagons, 10 years ago I bought 2 intercity 125's, a 225 and another diesel loco on ebay, all boxed in the loft. Am hoping to board it out this year and finally set it up. I was looking at the digital sets but they are expensive, really looking forward to seeing your layout grown and give me some ideas
Its all about collecting slowly, have fun with yours
Excited to to see the new incarnation of the layout. You have some great plans, particularly the raised mainline above the heritage.
Cheers Joe, not that I'm copying you or anything! 😉
Brilliant to see you’ve actually started with the new New Junction build Richard 👍🏻 looks as if Dans made a brilliant job as usual of the baseboard build ..looking forward to watching as it takes shape 😊
Let's hope I can continue where he started
@@NewJunction well I’m sure it’ll be amazing 👍🏻
Hi Richard really nice to see you have your baseboards in place so much potential where you take it to the next steps also just love the Azuma LNER can’t wait for the next installment
Best wishes
Kev Beighton Parkway Sheffield
Thanks Kev!
Loving the return of New Junction in a new way! Looking forward to the progress of the layout, Even know I live on the West Coast Main Line I do find the East Coast Main Line fascinating.
Both the big mainline have an attractive element to them
@@NewJunction They do indeed, also think I saw you at the GCR on Friday?
@@simontrainsmodelrailway well spotted haha 😄 hopefully you enjoyed it?
@@NewJunction I did indeed :D
Good stuff. If you really want to protect the timber, a good coat of yacht varnish is what you need, especially to seal all the cut surfaces.
Top tip thanks
Great to see you and New Junction back looking forward to watching it progress 👍
Nice to see you back buddy base boards are very nice cannot wait to see the progress and up coming updates on new junction I have been thinking about my layout I have decided to start all over again but saying that it's nice to see you back
Hi Richard, it will great to follow the layout build on this from day 1 I wasn’t even involved in model railways when you did the original New Junction so can join you on the journey. Cheers Gary
Great to have you along Gary
I knew you were kept busy with the day job, but it's nice to see you escape for a home visit. Hornby security must have had a day off, or they've not found the tunnel yet! Having just started a new layout myself I know the excitement and enthusiasm you'll have with a blank canvas to play with. Already looking forward to Ep 2 in 2024! ;-)
Or 2023 if you're lucky 😆
Nice to see you back making your own model railway, Will be interesting to see how it grows
great to see the beginning of a layout, can't wait to see the track laying, scenery choices, and eventually train running. the only suggestion i can think of is building a tunnel.
They'll be tunnels and bridges for sure, hopfully I can do the layout justice! Thanks again for the support!
About time! 😊 Good to see you back and I'm sure everyone is as keen to follow the progress of your new layout as I am.
Cheers!
Thanks Gerry 😊
Great to see you back up and running, no doubt I'll be down at some point adding a touch of something somewhere on it.
You bet, ill need a cameo of a burnt out 91 haha
You making a new layout congratulations
Really good to see this, Richard. Looking forward to seeing New Junction emerge over the coming months/years.
Thanks John
At last! Looking forward to seeing your new layout in the future
Stay safe and well!
Thanks, same to you!
Well now! Been looking forward to new New Junction and excited to see it started, and looking forward to its evolution, brilliant! Great stuff Richard. Must be daunting having a blank canvas that size. Scary and exciting!
Its more nerve wracking knowing I have to show you guys my mistakes haha
Hi Richard, Great to see you back with a second New Junction. The only suggestion I will make is in addition to have trains running continually operating around the layout that you give some consideration to having areas where you can do some shunting. If you are going to run some freight trains then an industrial siding would not go amiss . Looking forward to EP 2 Cheers Greg 😀
Thanks Greg, hope you're keeping well!
great to see the start of the new layout after 2 years. this is going to be a good one but its not allowed to be better than mine haha. looking forward to seeing it progress
I've not got your space or massive train collection haha
I’m in the USA just subscribe will watch your progress looks like a good start
Thanks BMan
Looking forward to this new venture. 😀
Thanks Groot 🌱
2 years??? chuff me time sure flys but it will be fantastic to hear hello welcome to new junction again and see trains running and neat projects again
Yep its flown by, cheers Aaron!
Yay New Junction is back! 😊 the world can’t have enough ECML layouts as far as I’m concerned (but I am biased! Lol 😆) looking forward to seeing how things progress over the coming months and years! Just seeing those baseboards set up gets me excited which just makes me a proper train nerd I guess 😊. Anyway, stop reading this and get cracking! 🤣
Not biased Michelle, just right haha thanks as always, hope you're both keeping well! Still waiting for my invite...... 👩🏻🤝👩🏼
This is great news, cannot wait to see what you create. I'm planning on building a TMD as its the only thing I can do with my current available space but need to keep it modular for a house move next year so this video is really on point for me right now so thank you. I'm the process of planning it on Any Rail and you've given me a push to think about baseboards.
I am expecting the return of the jazz music in the next video.
Ha everyone loves the jazz, I'm trying Anyrail but getting stuck haha
I’m looking forward to following your progress
Thanks Alan
Beautiful advance bench construction components! I am used to stick construction, but this set-up is excellent!
Thanks Walter
I’d scrap the whole idea and go full Irish. 😆 Great to see you back and look forward to whatever develops on the new layout. Paul
I couldn't do Irish justice with you on the scene 😉 I look forward to our many joint projects... 😁
Great to see you back Richard, New New Junction woohoo.
I would love to see the heritage line your planning come up to the same level at the station, a bit like Keighley on the KWVR, or Kidderminster at the Severn Valley Railway.
Good videos, great to see it all start.
You don't want much haha, if I can get Anyrail working then ill see what I can come up with lol
@@NewJunction Just throw some track down, it'll all come together in the end lol
Great video. Looking forward to the building of your layout.
Great stuff Richard! Pleased to see you're back with bang. Looking forward to seeing how you develop the modular system to re-jig the boards. My idea for my limited space is to make a scenic board but with a temporary loop off-scene so I can enjoy the best of both worlds. Maybe see you at Donny (Sat) and/or Glasgow (Sun)?
I'll be seeing you at Glasgow, be great to catch up!
Very nicely done on the baseboards. Those look great.
Thanks Steve
Fantastic to see a new project richard looking forward to seeing your progress sounds good 👍👍👍
Wow didn't know u took it down hope u have fun building new layout 😁😁😁😁😁
