New 2025 Shredder RE also comes with 40mm front KYB Pro shocks. And the track rear shock is also easy adjust (comp). New sled suspension personal tuning and valving is the key. Also important to set the rear suspension sag properly before riding. Otherwise it will bottom too early. Factory settings is allways compromise of something. Limiter strap also all the way open that the track can sink in the terrain. Ds+ skis are way better on high speeds. And that way we ride here in Nordic🇫🇮🇫🇮 And finally fix that turbo powerline on deep snow riding. Otherwise you will be burning some rubber. That Lynx looked pretty damn good through the trees. Last time I rode one it was called a Backcountry, compared it to my 2014 Freeride at the time. The freeride felt like a cruise ship compared to how nimble the Lynx was at the time. Really curious about the shredder, especiall the '25. Seem to do well in the Nordic terrain.
Good thing Dyrek switched sleds with ya before the reeds went. For his sake. 😁 I’m surprised they went and it wasn’t even out of break in yet. You did good getting it out of there Matt. Good job fellas.
Yeah my Polaris reeds are done too. Turbos are hard on reeds. These went quick but if you can keep the sled from backfiring the ski doo ones will last. Unlike Polaris
Gosh you do such a great job with these videos. I hope to see you at 1 million subscribers one day. Its concerning that both the Ski Doo and Polaris are appearing to be so unreliable this season. I sold my Boost to go to a Ski Doo and man this is not good to see.
Sounds like a moped I used to ride .. without the turbo sounds that is hahaha 🤣😂..nice ride wish I got a freeride over my Backcountry xrs...only got 4200 miles on it and boom blew motor ..
I really can’t imagine paying that much for an awesome sled, and get little to no belt life, breaking clutch bolts, reeds, or suspension wrecking with that low of km’s ridiculous. Even if warranty pays, the waiting and down time hurts your whole season. For the guy that only buys one sled. A bit disappointing.
I don’t understand why skidoo hasn’t done recalls on the chain case and reed issues. I know a ton of people here in north Utah that have had sleds broken all winter Love your channel
I think it's crazy you guys will keep riding after the reeds break. I'd be worried about it tearing up the engine, or getting sucked up into the turbo. 😬
If you could only own two skidoo turbos, would a 146 be one of them? I have a 165 and want to add a short track this year. 146 or 154? And why? Love the vids dude, even in the summer!
I have driven, operated, and rode almost everything from mini bikes to 18-wheelers, heavy equipment, motorcycles, and ATVs. But I have never been on a snowmobile.
I like the looks of the Lynx better, red is my fav. color, but if I had to buy one I'd get the Freeride. I'd hafta order a 25' though cuz that mint color is just horrid.
Reeds are basically a one way valve from the airbox to the engine. When they fail usually chunks break off and less air pressure in the engine I guess?
Is it just me or does anyone else think reliability has gone down the drain? I realize the power they make is incredible but imagine if your 1000ft/lb torque brand new diesel truck was breaking down every 200-500km lol!
You have to consider that no news travels like bad news. That's all we hear and see on TH-cam and social media is when shit breaks. Yea there's weird instances and freak accidents, but there's also a cost that comes from consumers DEMANDING the absolute highest performance. Last year for Polaris was that stupid P22 clutch, last year for Doo was the chain cases. This year for Polaris is STILL the clutch, and Doo seems to have a problem with the belts on the 46's. Just part of innovation I guess.

Wait... you're giving the win to the doo when she let you down on the mountain?.. all sleds nowadays appear to have unacceptable quality issues. Time to do a comparison on quality and call them out.
I never heard of a Yamaha, so I wonder and the dealership told me it only goes 20 miles an hour and falls apart constantly, and Yamaha is a piece of Doodoo. Perfect timing, just got home from work, and cracked a beer!
Riiiight! :D
Just poured a Spiced and coke. :)
that Doo sounds like a Bravo with a turbo when the reeds blew :D
Was thinking 300 fan tundra
Reeds, belts, and primary clutch bolts. Can’t wait to see that 858 ya ordered🤔
The Arctic cat won’t make enough horsepower to break anything
@Goober-tz2zeNo shit its a 858, it got 8 more cc than the doo😮 duck face
@Goober-tz2zedoubtful. Stop trying to dick ride. Until legit numbers are posted that’s all you’re doing.
@Goober-tz2ze true
With this pow and 146s, the title should read: Welcome to Poaching 101: SkiDoo vs Lynx
Pretty much a poach fest
Could you make a video about how you set the suspension? What you are looking for when changing settings etc?

Get some Boyson Rage Cage Reeds better then stock add for HP.

I need to get back on track
Dude for real. It was hardly even that from what I heard. Snowmobiling > American Politics.
i agree on the skis. i tried ca pro skis on the lynxx didn't like them. put skidoo skis one the shredder sleds much more enjoyable to ride now
Steering with your feet and legs 😝😂🤣. That’s that 146” life 🤙😎
im thinking between 25 RE and FR in 146 NA.. thinking on the Shredder for the skid and i think it looks better too. also has more bracing.
I think the lynx looks better. Sweet day of riding
Love the burgundy on the freeride, goes super good with the mint, nicest freeride on the snow that I've seen!but the lynx is sick!
Just curious if you were planning a review and thoughts on the Polaris snow check video?
I wanted to do a Polaris video, just been super busy
Good thing Dyrek switched sleds with ya before the reeds went. For his sake. 😁 I’m surprised they went and it wasn’t even out of break in yet. You did good getting it out of there Matt. Good job fellas.
So overall you would pick a freeride over a lynx?
100%
I have a lynx 37 shredder turbo, i would also pick the freeride
What does the manufacturer call for when it comes to belt break in?
What's with the reeds? I thought I heard you say the polaris was doing it the other day?

Why do the reeds blow out like that? Is that a problem mainly because of the boost? Snapping back and forth that much harder than an NA?
Backfires blow them out. Ski doo backfires a lot when it’s revving high usually
@@MuskokaFreerider How does it rev high? Isn't a limit of any kind? And what's the soulution to not blow reeds out?
@@MuskokaFreerider Thanks, I'll watch out for that on mine.
Shame, really hoping the next "big thing" in the sled world is increased focus on reliability
Why would they do that? They wouldn’t make as much money if sleds were reliable. Brand new sleds are basically a scam at this point…
The Ski-Doo with blown reeds sounds like a leaf blower. Need to get you a reed and drive belt sponsorship.
What mounts are all the guys you riding with use for there GoPros?

They did recalls on the chaincase. The reeds aren’t really an issue. This is the first time I’ve prematurely blown them
I chuckled when I read “already broken” and then 10 seconds into the preview see a massive 50 foot drop 😂
I think it's crazy you guys will keep riding after the reeds break. I'd be worried about it tearing up the engine, or getting sucked up into the turbo. 😬
Don’t really have a choice and it’s covered under warranty anyway haha
how long warranty do you get in Canada when you buy a new sled?@@MuskokaFreerider

That’s what I just started on and it’s a very good powerful sled for cheap
@paytonwitte7601 I've been looking and found one for 3500 Canadian and has 7000 kms on it

No power! Now Mat knows how I feel! Snowbike Jerry
What’s a better aftermarket solution for Reeds? Boyesen’s website sucks and doesn’t have anything specific for an 850 turbo R

Why you having problems with the reeds this year? I don't remember those being a problem.
I did the reeds on the green sled last year too
