New 2025 Shredder RE also comes with 40mm front KYB Pro shocks. And the track rear shock is also easy adjust (comp). New sled suspension personal tuning and valving is the key. Also important to set the rear suspension sag properly before riding. Otherwise it will bottom too early. Factory settings is allways compromise of something. Limiter strap also all the way open that the track can sink in the terrain. Ds+ skis are way better on high speeds. And that way we ride here in Nordic🇫🇮🇫🇮
And finally fix that turbo powerline on deep snow riding. Otherwise you will be burning some rubber. Put Blingfactory Stage 2 Deep Snow and the sled will transfer engine power to the track.
i agree on the skis. i tried ca pro skis on the lynxx didn't like them. put skidoo skis one the shredder sleds much more enjoyable to ride now

Sounds like a moped I used to ride .. without the turbo sounds that is hahaha 🤣😂..nice ride wish I got a freeride over my Backcountry xrs...only got 4200 miles on it and boom blew motor ..
That Lynx looked pretty damn good through the trees. Last time I rode one it was called a Backcountry, compared it to my 2014 Freeride at the time. The freeride felt like a cruise ship compared to how nimble the Lynx was at the time. Really curious about the shredder, especiall the '25. Seem to do well in the Nordic terrain.

Get something with under 4k km, preferably under 2500km. I bought a 2018 m8000 as my first and loved it
im thinking between 25 RE and FR in 146 NA.. thinking on the Shredder for the skid and i think it looks better too. also has more bracing.

Its concerning that both the Ski Doo and Polaris are appearing to be so unreliable this season. I sold my Boost to go to a Ski Doo and man this is not good to see.

Why do the reeds blow out like that? Is that a problem mainly because of the boost? Snapping back and forth that much harder than an NA?
Backfires blow them out. Ski doo backfires a lot when it’s revving high usually

I don’t understand why skidoo hasn’t done recalls on the chain case and reed issues. I know a ton of people here in north Utah that have had sleds broken all winter

They did recalls on the chaincase. The reeds aren’t really an issue. This is the first time I’ve prematurely blown them

Yeah my Polaris reeds are done too. Turbos are hard on reeds. These went quick but if you can keep the sled from backfiring the ski doo ones will last. Unlike Polaris

I think it's crazy you guys will keep riding after the reeds break. I'd be worried about it tearing up the engine, or getting sucked up into the turbo. 😬

Can you explain what it means when the reeds fail?
Reeds are basically a one way valve from the airbox to the engine. When they fail usually chunks break off and less air pressure in the engine I guess?
I really can’t imagine paying that much for an awesome sled, and get little to no belt life, breaking clutch bolts, reeds, or suspension wrecking with that low of km’s ridiculous. Even if warranty pays, the waiting and down time hurts your whole season. For the guy that only buys one sled. A bit disappointing.
The Ski-Doo with blown reeds sounds like a leaf blower. Need to get you a reed and drive belt sponsorship.

I think the lynx is more of a trail type sled...designed for Scandinavian country

I have driven, operated, and rode almost everything from mini bikes to 18-wheelers, heavy equipment, motorcycles, and ATVs. But I have never been on a snowmobile.
It is one of the funnest and indescribable feelings there is. Takes a lot of practice but is so worth the energy time and money

600 run great, they lack a little above 60mph but clutching and gearing make it feel light and powerfull and there is no turbo for elevation.

Is it just me or does anyone else think reliability has gone down the drain? I realize the power they make is incredible but imagine if your 1000ft/lb torque brand new diesel truck was breaking down every 200-500km lol!

You have to consider that no news travels like bad news. That's all we hear and see on TH-cam and social media is when shit breaks. Yea there's weird instances and freak accidents, but there's also a cost that comes from consumers DEMANDING the absolute highest performance. Last year for Polaris was that stupid P22 clutch, last year for Doo was the chain cases. This year for Polaris is STILL the clutch, and Doo seems to have a problem with the belts on the 46's. Just part of innovation I guess.
