Hey Matt, been watching for years now and just want to say how great you editing and content is. Never is the volume drastically different, the video quality is top notch, the riding is top notch, the commentary is top notch, the sleds are awesome(the wrap on the 165 doo is the best yet), so thank you for all the work you put in, and the places you take us.
37:45 - 48:25 is some of the best snowmobile footage I’ve ever watched. Beautiful. Thanks for a great video and please let us know what happens with his sled. I recently saw an ad for a titanium primary clutch bolt for Polaris sleds and thought “why would anyone need that?”. Now I know!
It's no wonder you are so popular...every day I say "best vid of season "...every day they just get better....dont know how you do it...but a big thanks from someone who only dreams of doing this kind of riding Matt... Freerider all the way... From my very air conditioned (minus 38 without wind chill) igloo on the mountain in grande cache alberta Canada 🇨🇦 D. P.S...BE NICE TO JERRY...HE'S GETTING OLD... "GO JERRY"...US OLD GUYS ARE ROOTING FOR YOU.
I'm a mountain snowmobiler in Japan. I'm always watching the Free Rider Channel and learning! You guys are so cool! I would love to put a Free Rider sticker on my machine too!
Matt. Seeing your dad 3years ago ... gave my 40year old butt encouragement that I can still learn the skills and go out in the backcountry ... Now keeping in mind I only have a 2020 850. 146 backcountry with 1.6 ice cobra ... 2 years worth of learning .. finally made it out to B.C !! It was awesome!! Now I need to upgrade the sled ....or atleast the the track lol Cheers and keep up the best snowmobile content on TH-cam!!!
Another reason I love Matt's videos always willing to go out of the way to help a fellow rider.. also the bridge building was epic everyone working on it saws and shovels..... keep em coming....
Was shaking my head at how great the shredding footage was after the heli pickup…then I caught your shadow and saw you were filming by hand instead of using Shovel Cam. WTF! That was some Jedi-level framing/panning skill. Awesome work.
Hey Matt Put a rubber band around ur kill switch. It will still work ,but " taps" from limbs won't kill machine. A little Steamboat trick I learned way back when there were no Turbo sleds. I'm 54 now and my kids don't know how hard it is to ride without one in those conditions.
Thankfully you ride in a good size group, makes those mechanical failures less stressful and you can all help out. I was really hopeful that Polaris had their clutch issues sorted but unfortunately it appears they don't. For the weekend rider this type of failure makes you regret your purchase and this is about having fun, not justifying $1800 heli rescues, down time, trips to the dealer and thanking the good lord above it's still under warranty. Great content, great edits, and thanks for braving the cold to make my Sunday morning awesome!
This is the first clutch I've seen go down this year on the 24's. Last year at this time there would've been 30...so I think it's definitely an improvement.
@@208SledHeadfirst seen on this channel, definitely not the first. He says right in this video his other buddy has done 2 already and that the only fix seems to be to retorque the bolt at 250km and replace the bolt at 500km. Rinse and repeat.
That 360 shows just how steep it is! Holy cow! Also love the shot of you following your dad! So cool to see him take a slower methodical method! Also loved the commentary you added after!
I’ve said this before but Matt, your personality is perfect for a day like this, keeping things light, and making an otherwise bummer kind of day, a real hoot! Another great job filming and editing!
This has to be one of your best videos yet! Great adventure, mishaps, mayhem. The struggle. And complete redemption of epic pow riding with some of your best filming yet! Probably the most beautiful scenes of riding I think I've ever seen! Mind blown!
That bridge turned out pretty cool. Looked even better later with the ice on the river. Way to turn an otherwise unpleasant task into a great powder session. Another great video. Thanks Matt!
Only sledders will go back for a recovery and while waiting for the heli, go for another rip! Oh and one guy has to catch a plane later that day! Matt doesn’t live in a “what if” world he lives in the “what is world”! And then they found nirvana!!! One of the best videos in the industry!! Thank you for taking us along.
Great job rigging the sled. Another option (so the seat doesn’t come off, cause sometimes they do) is choke the tunnel, through the running boards and capture the seat. So in short move the rear strap forward. Cheers and looking forward to meeting you and crew one day. Till then keeper pinned.
Newbie here! I just found you towards the end of last season. I was really looking forward to seeing what you’re up to at the beginning of a season. I grew up with my first sled as a kid was a 69 Panther with the 493 Herth and side pipes and then a 79 Jag. I’ve only trail ridden once. Thanks for working so hard and sharing your rides. NJ
I double a lot for snowboard access, try having the passenger hold the mountain bar with their left hand and that's all. this gives the driver the ability to hold the handlebars (L & R hand) properly and have much greater control of the sled
OMG @ 10:36 in clearing directly ahead of you, left center, I swear it was a Sasquatch (all white, dark face & hooded) at 1st. It scurred me a little bit. lolol
Dang i feel bad for jason. I know last year his Boost was a lemon basically. His new boost has been good until this clutch fiasco. Hopefully hes not done riding with you??? Hes only been there a short while!! Hes such a chill good dude and capable rider
Great vid. Thx for the long vid. 50 mins of epic riding. Must be long nights editing these shows and i thx u so much for the work u put in to these for us all to watch.
The blower pow days you can tape the foot well on the clutch side so you don't get the belt slipping. Those clutches move so much air in the vents get plugged it pulls it from the foot wells causing snow to get in thus slipping belts.
The snowmobile producers should put like a small fan at the clutch compartment to cool it down. The heat that builds up there when driving in deep poweder is extreme, and I also think thats why belt and bolts break so fast.
The life one creates is the life one experiences. You have created quite the life for a young man. Make sure you thank Jerry. I’m sure he has at least a little help and influence on you.
We need some Jerry Cam action 😝👌. Haven’t had any yet this season . If you add a Kitten to the stable , we will truly have a real world sled tester/beater 🙌👏
@18:07 I'm feeling bad for your dad but at the same time this just shows his true grit and determination to keep it moving with the boys..🤘🏻 hats off to you muskoka Sr!!!! 💪🏻
Just amazing ❤. Cant even imagine how it feels to drive on those conditions - and have admit that I would never reach the rights spots, getting there already looks too scary 😂
So much you left out. Picking up the sled from the heliport and taking to the dealer. The bill for 2 trips of the heli? Are there no aftermarket bolts that are working?
Jerry has become 8 years younger since last year 💪 One more season and he’s leading the pack! Go Jerry 😍🥇Well done!!!
This 50 minute edit deserves beer $$. Keep them coming!
Wow thanks man 🙌🙌

The riding you found while on the recovery mission looked epic!
I'm a mountain snowmobiler in Japan. I'm always watching the Free Rider Channel and learning! You guys are so cool! I would love to put a Free Rider sticker on my machine too!
This turned out to be a killer day, got the frost bite to prove it.
Man, sucks so bad to happen to such great guy. Luckily he was with some other good guys to help out. Polaris absolutely has to get this sorted out!
Matt i just realized you have 10k more subscribers then SnoTrax TV. Totally awesome watching you ride into the you tube matrix. Your killing it bro!
Snotrax. Wait let me get my thesaurus and overuse the same obscure synonyms for a half hour. 🤮 Sorry snotrax
It's because Matt is more entertaining then snowtrax
@@darreng2639 by miles errr I mean by kilometers
It was meant sarcastically just didn't word it right. I'll do better.
Snotrax is what my teenager calls as "Mid". They are so far up the manufacturers back side it's sad.
You and Jason make the best sledding combo 😂

My Backcountry is MUCH better with a 16"x2" over the 1.6'' ice , Do it !
Man your dad shreds so hard.. I hope I’m still even riding when I’m his age haha
Pretty cool of you to give buddy a day of riding after a shitty break down, huge thumbs up and respect
Another reason I love Matt's videos always willing to go out of the way to help a fellow rider.. also the bridge building was epic everyone working on it saws and shovels..... keep em coming....
Man what fun. I haven't been on a snowmobile in thirty years or so. Wow what ways the sleds have changed. Thanks for the awesome videos

LOVE hitting that fSmooth groomed trail when this happens!!!
Love to see Polaris stranding another rider!

Love the exploration type videos ! Keep em coming Matt! 🤘🤘

The massive amount of hard work just to get up to the zone is impressive!
Good job guys!
Well done 💪
Wow, the second day to fly the sled out was amazing. Award winning cinematography. Great job Matt.
WOW the last 10 mins was some of the best video ever !!, great job!

Keep up the best snowmobile crisp clear content on TH-cam. The mountains look so amazing.
37 minutes on is what we need more of that pumped me up bad to the bone Matt
Awesome footage of the sled riding with the heli some really good downy footage awesome snow but chilli
OMG @ 10:36 in clearing directly ahead of you, left center, I swear it was a Sasquatch (all white, dark face & hooded) at 1st. It scurred me a little bit. lolol
I watched pretty much all of your video and this was an awesome one. I bet some poeple regret not getting out for the recovery. ✌️
The over-the-shoulder view is way better IMO. Really gives a better feel for what you are doing and the incline of the terrain. Keep using it please!!
Made me go ride in this -32f weather, and it was epic. Encouragement without even knowing. Great video, as always!
Dang i feel bad for jason. I know last year his Boost was a lemon basically. His new boost has been good until this clutch fiasco. Hopefully hes not done riding with you??? Hes only been there a short while!! Hes such a chill good dude and capable rider
That was freaking epic Matt!
More please...and thank you.
I'm sure tree riding is fun to do but nothing beats the gorgeous views of the alpine riding as a viewer, in my opinion. Awesome footage.
I really think this might have been your best video so far! The video was spectacular!
Your such a stud Matt!!! Keep it up buddy
Loved the camera video from the flying sled!
Those crispy clear days truly are the best🔥🔥🔥
Good on you guys out in the bitter cold having a epic time!
I love seeing the creek adventures. Trying to get across and creep jumping on pillows
All your sleds look beautiful!!!
That heli ride footage on point
Fn cold here, -38 other day, - 26 this morning bbrr!
that was soooooo sick!
Always an adventure with the Freeriders👍
Great vid. Thx for the long vid. 50 mins of epic riding. Must be long nights editing these shows and i thx u so much for the work u put in to these for us all to watch.
Great vid. Really liking the 360 and its mount location so far.
Sick ending ride 🤙
The riding looked amazing.
Can’t help but think how good the skiing would have been 👍
Thank you for sharing
🤗🏆🙏💙
Anyone else find themselves ducking when Matt starts slinging thru the trees from the cam mounted to his shovel? No? Just me then. Lol
I ducked at all the trees.and held my breath on the climbs
One of the best edits yet. What an incredible zone. Love the videos been a subscriber for years I’m glad to see the channel growing.
The blower pow days you can tape the foot well on the clutch side so you don't get the belt slipping. Those clutches move so much air in the vents get plugged it pulls it from the foot wells causing snow to get in thus slipping belts.
Love watching you on the Polaris. Just seems rowdier. Unreal video
Just getting back in there looked like a lot of fun, bummer losing that primary! What a horrible spot too!
dude you dominate snowmobile youtube with your daily uploads🤯😂 crazy much of a work 👏🏼
What an epic vid! Team AARP loves building bridges! A true adventure!
The snowmobile producers should put like a small fan at the clutch compartment to cool it down. The heat that builds up there when driving in deep poweder is extreme, and I also think thats why belt and bolts break so fast.
Incredible riding !!!
The life one creates is the life one experiences. You have created quite the life for a young man. Make sure you thank Jerry. I’m sure he has at least a little help and influence on you.

Sometimes the best time riding is with just one other dude, having a good time shredding the snow!
FINALLY got to go sledding out in the Niagara region ontario!!!
Awesome video. I love the scenery. I only wish I could rider there!!!!
Middle of July cools me down watching such a great vid thanks guys the riding not the recovery lol
Glad someone is willing to wear 4 cameras cause I’d get left in the woods if I showed up like that with my crew 😂😂😂
Your wrap on the doo is mint! Absolutely love it!
That road up looked like it was a fun day.
Just amazing ❤. Cant even imagine how it feels to drive on those conditions - and have admit that I would never reach the rights spots, getting there already looks too scary 😂
I find myself ducking and leaning my head watching this. 😅
One of the coolest vids yet!
What an awesome looking zone. I’m going to revi 1st week of March
Matt, Day-2 was awesome 👌. POW was incredible you guys were slaying it. Thanks for sharing. Love that SKI-DOO feeling ✌.
Amazing pulls there at end and stuff. You should definitely change belt if haven't yet be easier on primary and everything. Dream pulls for 165
So much you left out. Picking up the sled from the heliport and taking to the dealer. The bill for 2 trips of the heli? Are there no aftermarket bolts that are working?
Poor guy man. That really sucks. All the best fellas stay safe
Just wow! amazing place!
Awesome video Matt ✌🏻
You need to get COM going between riders that is EIPIC when you can ride and hear the conversation. New level. Get on it.
The 9R should have a turbo it would be a serious weapon. This is an awesome video holy cow so sick
You need to start a go fund me for the helicopter rescues. Turning lemons into lemonade!! I hope Jason will be back soon.
Wow!! These guys are playing in places that would kill ordinary riders. Massive skilz!!
the matryx air intake is even worst than on the axys, loved the 360 pursuit
"We're ready, where's the sky hook?" Hilarious. lol
Great vid!
I bet Eagelespass heli skiing was stoked to see you hitting their tenure!,🙄
But it made epic sled footage. Reminds me of the old Warren Miller films.
They dont own the mountain. Their tenure means no other heli skiing operation can access that area. Doesn't mean the average Joe can't.
Wait didn’t Jason break just before left last year too? That riding after the Heli was amazing picture perfect!!!! Keep it up Matt!!!
