I hear you.... 99 percent of the time two smart water bottles and the Beefree with the one liter collapsible bottle are enough but when I'm wanting to dry camp or my son and I are sharing camp... its always nice to take more water into camp so that we don't have to keep running back and forth to the water source during the evening. ... or we can dry camp easier. I big on having "systems" where I can switch out small pieces of gear given different backpacking scenarios. The Hydrapaks are so durable too. My son has one and its not let us down for about 3 years now.
