You couldn't be more wrong it's about growing up, facing temptation, loss of innocence based on the classic book by the German thinker and author Hermann Hess entitle 'Demian'. There's a quote in the MV from Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche the German classical scholar and philosopher. The lyric's talk of temptation, the imagry is about falling to temptation and showing childhood toys and letting go of childhood.
You may have missed it, but when it kept going back and forth between Jin approaching and kissing the statue and V kneeling in the dark, it showed V had 2 scars on his back where his wings used to be. And he smiled when Jin completed the kiss like Jin had become one of them or Jin had taken on the wings for him. There are tons of theories about what this video means
This song is about first love and loss of innocence. Going too far into the other direction for a bad/wrong love. Some say when V, Tae, fell off the balcony, he had decided to succumb to this tainted love - hence his scars from the wings! V is a fallen angel, trying to entice others. The others run away, but Jin is stopped and returns to the gallery. Jin ultimately succumbs as well when he kisses the statue! That's why you see his face change at the end!!!!
This MV is a masterpiece...it requires an "explanation video" because it is very complex...RM is a writing genius and the members did an incredible job of choreography. You looked away at the crucial moment when V revealed himself!...Thank you for your reaction...BTS never disappoints...
lol one Else would give you an MV based on demian by Herman Hesse plus 1 a Bach mass 2. A quote from nietsche 3. The myth of Icarus 4. Buxtehudes passacaglia in D 5. Carl Jung’s theory of personality and individuation 6. A survey course in Greco Roman sculpture 7. A survey course in Western European painting 8. Possible absinthe poisoning 9. Possible reference to Banksy And apparently a 2010 uk film called chat room It’s why we love them 💜🇨🇦
If you haven’t already seen it, I recommend Taylor Mari’s guide to the Bangtan 7. I think it’s worth understanding more about the members and who they are. It can give more insight into their music.
Please, please, to really know & appreciate his dance skills, you need to watch JHOPE in Boy meets evil. It's a short dance video but your respect for him will go so much higher. His performance is awesome.
Rm co-wrote this song and was a major contributor of the lyrics, especially the English words. Given his intellectual wordplay he purposely chose - Manhi - one of 6 Korean words meaning "more" in this context! He knew English speaking audiences would hear MONEY and make it catchy!!!! 😅😂 🤣 The black wings make an appearance in several BTS and solo members' MVs.
I’m just at the beginning of this reaction video and I’m pretty sure I’m going to say, “SHUT UP, Dude!” Let the video do some of the talking. Shut up, Dude!
Great reaction. Most of their songs/videos are written or co-written by members, RM & Suga primarily, but all of them as well. They use a lot of themes based on literature.Blood Sweat & Tears takes a lot of it's lyrics & symbolism from the book Demian by Hermann Hesse. Most of their videos have a behind the scenes or making of video also that are worth checking out.
@@Kazuzo I might have mentioned this in another post, but this theme is performed live by BTS at the 2016 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) show! Actually the FULL BTS performance has 3 parts - 1) JHope and Jimin collaboration of JHope's Boy Meets Evil with Jimin's Lie; 2) Blood, Sweat and Tears and ending with 3) Fire!!!!!! OMG, this set up BTS to becoming one of their best award show performances ever!!!! Trust me, the JHope/Jimin collaboration was breathtakingly beautiful. BS&T was amazing, while Fire was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Btw I don't know if anyone's told you this but kpop groups always to behind the scenes filming videos for their music videos. So if you really love an MV you can easily find an english subbed making of video on youtube. Also, this MV is all about the story Demian by Herman Hesse (about the temptation of evil, the spoken quote near the end is a line from it). The album this is from (Wings) is also based around that. You should watch their short video teasers for the album; Wings Short Films; each teasing a solo member songs from the album. There's a compilation of them all on youtube. That was the album that really launched them into stardom. BTS often did MVs/songs/albums based on philosophical stories; Spring Day's MV was based on both a philosophical story called The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas and the Sewol ferry tragedy.
Hi, all the members of BTS are genius in their own special way. But my bias is 'V' not just for his visuals but his voice. The husky baritone/jazz/soul/ and ability to reach quite high notes. He does a single solo song with BTS plus the solo album he recently put out (please check this out) i 💜 U
That's I think spell it as Abraxas it a Mythological god that's neither good nor evil, both male and female and kissing the statue of is akin to kissing and embracing temptation and all that come's with it accepting that to grow up you have to leave childhood innocense behind. So not fan service and did you see V's scares on his back where his wings have been hacked off his back suggesting a Fallen Angel a temper a devil.
All their songs have storylines. It's almost telling that they have to struggle to not get sucked into the world of fame and fortune. BTS have always maintained their Down To Earth personalities. They strive to stay grounded for themselves and their Fans( Armies). It is hard because there is so much pressure. What with the HATERS and just the prejudice of these types of People.

Oh that's so cool! I'm very keen to look into these theories.

Black swan was years later, but jungkook wears black wings in his solo song STANDING NEXT TO YOU. a really good song too!!!!!

That's so clever! I love that!
This is one of their cinematic theatrical videos. Gorgeous! And it has that kinda Caribbean rhythm during the chorus. Love this one

I recommend you watch their own parody of this video it's really funny; they basically take the mick out of themselves lol
it is a MV based on Herman Hesse's book Demain, a commentary on temptation.
This video is a MASTERPIECE!!! The boys are clean…💜💜💜
Can you please react to vixx error or B.A.P One shot????? Pleaseeeeeee😊

BTS concepts are album themes not normal kpop concept which are all about visuals.
This song was in the album "Wings"
Those are Opera glasses that J Hope uses.
Everything bts does is a bar raiser!
I wanted to recommend Red Lights by Bangchan and Hyunjin from Stray Kids
This song is perfect 😊
