- Hello fashion friends!!! Today I am going to be sewing an elopement style dress that I actually wore for my engagement party! I will be showing you how to sew a fit and flare open back mini dress and I have a pattern available for you as well! You design such pretty dresses.
If I were to make this dress, I would find a sunflower fabric made of satin so it's shiny and I would also make the dress a little longer.
Finally, no need for the strap on the back like you suggest on your previous video ? It's a really pretty dress !💫

But would this pattern work if the waist is small, but the bust is big? I always struggle to find patterns that fit, because in order to fit my bust I have to use pattern 2-3 sizes bigger than i actually am.
Which type of satin would you recommend for a lightweight dress for the summer? It'll have draping and I dont want it it to be too thick and die of heat lol

because the front waist is larger than the back waist! (the front is larger because of our stomachs!)

Do you remove your basting stitches after you sew the gathers in? I've seen it both ways. Also looks stunning as always, and you didn't elope right?? 😍😂
I don't personally- when I serge the fabric is hides the basting stitches. And no we didn't elope! I just think this dress would be gorgeous for an elopement.

its's for my engagement party but i thought this dress would be perfect for someone who wants to elope :)
why do you serge on some seams (ie the skirt and bottom bodice) but not on others (ie most of the bodice seams)?
Probably because the bodice seams will be hidden by the lining

Irene Li it is, but if the seam is protected/hidden by the lining, no need to worry about fraying
