These tutorials in themselves are a work of art: you're giving advice on fabrics, matching sewing terms with visual aides, etc. Everything that you make is stunning, but it's such a gift to show/teach others how to make it themselves. I'll definitely be buying your patterns. Thank you! ^^
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I jumped on TH-cam to see if there were tutorials for the specific pattern I purchased because the written pattern instructions weren't clear. Your video while it isn't the exact one, was so perfect for me to understand the steps needed for dress pants. Thank you!
Made my first pair of pants. Had my own sewing pattern but needed some guidance on each step of the process. Your video helped clarify how to do it. Thank you!
I've always wanted to have someone your height take eyelevel photos of fun places. Im 5'3" so I imagine its as close to flying as I'll get. Happy sewing!
Just finished these and they turned out so good! Would love to see a womens suit blazer!! So little suit sewing patterns specifically for women out there. 😊
You can do a straight stitch at the seamlines (or if you're very good - a 16th of an inch inside the seam allowance, alongside the seamlines) if you don't have access to a serger - as most people don't. Or just take care not to let your pattern pieces hang where they're cut on the bias/off the straight of grain
Thank you so much for this excellent video tutorial, it was very well shot and edited and I very much enjoyed watching a piece of fabric turn into this beautiful pleated trousers. I'm 5'3" (160cm) and have an hourglass figure. NOTHING in this world fits me without alteration. I pay twice for any clothing item I buy. Once when I purchase it and once when I take it for alteration. I've been thinking about sewing my own clothes lately, and I'm so glad I found your channel. I just subbed and turned on the bell notification. Could you please do a fitted blazer for hourglass figure in one of your future videos. Many thanks in advance. Cheers and keep up the excellent work.💖💖✨✨
I won't be able to add others' photos in the pattern itself, but you can see other people of all different sizes showing their makes on my Instagram & tagged photos :)
Can we have a video about fabrics and the best ones for pants ,skirts, tops and the best kinds for winter and summer 💗💗💫Hope you like my comment and buy💫 💗💗
Hi! Im new here, I like sewing, and really like what you're doing🙂 happy with you sister, Could you teach us how to make, "high waist tapered pants"? and thank you⚘️.
Beautiful pants, I am sewing them with your pattern 😍 I just have question: I have used gabardine fabric with 4% Elastane and in your Video Tutorial you use a straight stitch. I am afraid to also use a straight stitch but I am not quite sure how I should sew the pants just with my overlocker 😢 Please help me :(
hey ! I really like the aesthetic of these pants and I'll soon start this but I want to know is there's any tips or changes that I'd do to make them fit a man ? (ps:sorry for bad english im not a native speaker)
1. For men, the tradition is for the fly to be the other way round: it is always the left side that goes on top. 2. Depending on the body shape, you may want to consider the fabric carefully - tencel or viscose may be too flowy and produce a rather weird effect - you may want to opt for more classic suiting fabric with a gentle drape for the flow effect. 3. You'll probably need to adjust the waist suppression (difference between seat and waist measurements). Back darts will most likely end up smaller, but remember to always keep the proportions between the front and back parts - you want the side seam to stay in the same place on your body. 4. Optional, but men generally need more space in the front crotch area, and less in the seat, so some adjustments in those areas may be needed for a better fit.
La pretina por la parte de adentro se debe doblar igual que la parte delantera , no se debe ver el filete de la pretina por el interior , por lo demás muy bonito !
Thank you for sharing, my sewing machine doesn’t have that special stitch for the edges of the fabric, is there an alternative stitch I can use to get the same results or do I need to get a new sewing machine?
I have some questions. The instructions (size 14) say I need a 23cm zipper and I have a 21cm zipper and it’s still way too large for the pattern. The fly template is only 19,8cm long and won’t cover the zipper like in your instructions. So I‘d have to sew over the zipper instead of around. I moved the zipper a bit up since in the video and the instructions it seemed to reach a bit over the seam allowance. But I will definitely get problems when I attach the waist line. Is there an error in the size of the zipper? If I‘d taken an actual 23cm zipper it would have never fit. Apart from the size, more detailed instructions on were to place the zipper (right at the edge of seam allowance or a few mm over it) would be nice. Second: while attaching the loops, you say that the first stitch 5mm should be right into the seam but isn’t the seam allowance 1.2cm? Other from that my new pants look already great. Although I keep hesitating attaching the waistband because I‘m afraid it won‘t work with the zipper 😭
I have a question about the amount of fabric. In description it says 1.7-2.3m. Does that mean 1.7x2.3m or that the width and length are the same (1.7x1.7m - 2.3x2.3m) or is that just length? If that's the case, what is the width of the fabric required?
I recommend using a light-medium weight woven fabric from a natural fiber or blend. Some suggestions are Linen, Cotton, Crepe, Gabardine, Light-weight denim or Rayon. I hope this helps!
I bought the pattern about a month ago and watched the tutorial, but I haven't made the pants yet because I can't even figure out how to put the pattern pieces together. This video has no instructions on that, which is incredibly frustrating for a beginner. 😭
You can get the pattern at this link here, and you can change your currency with the button at the bottom of the home page :) dressmakingamore.com/products/darcypantspattern
I would recommend making a mockup first, then draw a line at your desired low-rise height, and then make a new waistband according to the new waistline :) 💙
I would also like to know where I could buy the fabric marker you were using, or the name of that product. Thank you. You did an excellent job on your tutorial!

She's using the serger to avoid fraying, right?
This was art 👌🏾. Can’t wait to sew this. Thank you.

OH MY G. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
Can you please make a tutorial on drafting a trousers pattern particular this pant from scratch because I always have problems when I make trousers
Since this is a pattern making company this is probably not the place for this tutorial. You can find instructions here on TH-cam. Good luck.
@@lovemesomeslippers thanks anyway

Can you make an elastic waist version?? Not a zipper version?
Excelente seu vídeo. Amei seu trabalho. Parabéns.
Eu gostei !

Thank you for watching! You can use a serger imitation seam on a sewing machine, a narrow zig-zag, bias binding, or a french seam :)
Que gran clase de como confeccionar el pantalon. Deberian colocar subtitulos en Español
Do you think this is doable with linen fabric?
dear Dressmaking Amore, it iso interesting, but the most important is making the perfect pattern of the PANT. Where I should go to get this hint?
Can you please share the link of cutting

Hi! You'll need anywhere from 1.7-2.3 m of fabric depending on the size you choose to sew. The width of the fabric is 150 cm ❤️

Is it possible to alter these pants so that they are very low rise - like early 2000's lower than low, Britney + Christina low?
I would recommend making a mockup first, then draw a line at your desired low-rise height, and then make a new waistband according to the new waistline :) 💙
What fabric pen are you using?
I would also like to know where I could buy the fabric marker you were using, or the name of that product. Thank you. You did an excellent job on your tutorial!
