      @morgangaushell9414 I really appreciate it! I'm putting one together this weekend about emergency power supply. We own a small cottage airbnb on the TX coast that got hit by Hurricane Beryl. While there we had no power or cell service (sketchy texting only) so I broke out the gear for emergency communication! I will try to make it enjoyable and a hood learning experience! Thanks again bud!

    Been buying boofwangs since 2014 and now have a H3 and I may never buy another Baofeng. The H3 is now my main radio. The receive clarity is just so much better. The only critique would be the battery doesn’t last as long as the other brands. I did buy the set that comes with two antennas and 2 batteries. The battery life isn’t bad just shorter than what the other brands have. My next purchase will be the H8 or another H3.

    • @FirstUnitedTactical

      I have also noticed that the 2500 batteries don't last as long as one would expect. I feel that the technology inside and the features out way the battery life far more though. Most people feel the same way. I actually just did another video on the Baofeng UV-9g (not uploaded yet). I can't stand baofengs, but this one is a different breed! Anyway, I'm TIDradio and Wouxun all the way these days! You get what you pay for! Have a great one!

    Just got an h3. Cant believe how small and solid it is. Fell in love immediately, but habe to exchange it. Every 4 or so transmissions it will transmit, but not carry any audio or rodger beep for that matter. It does tie up the channel and break the squelch on my other radios, just no sound. Next keyup it may be good, but sometimes its blank for 3 more. Im sure it is a fluke and my replacement will be here monday. My son and i currently use uv5rs when 4 wheeling and have helmet kits with ptts on our handlebars. The h3 is going to live in my pocket with a stubby antenna for when im off the ATV with no helmet and i can spot him still.

    • @FirstUnitedTactical
      @FirstUnitedTactical  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, it sounds Ike a bad one. Your replacement should fix all that. As for antennas, the factory is good, but get a Smiley 5/8 Slim Duck 465! That is shorter and much farther range....

    I just bought the TidRadio and will hopefully get them around the 20th (they are being shipped to Colombia where we use ONLY HAM bands). But I am also following directions from another channel. I bought two converters to change the radio connection type from SMA to BNC. Then I bought two Nagoya antenna (best antenna to use) and those are in BNC. This way there is no risk of damaging the SMA threads or connector.

    • @FirstUnitedTactical
      @FirstUnitedTactical  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You will love it. It will also unlock to Ham and GMRS, so do that, just in case you want to talk to another radio (a friend) in more of a private frequency. Do you have 462 frequency usage there? You should be able to use it simplex.

      @michaeleber4752 Nice. The H8 and H3 models do really well for their price. And, they are super easy to read in the sunlight compared to some others. Make sure you order the Nagoya for UHF VHF and not the one I linked which is GMRS. A solid 136/430 mhz Nagoya will do wanders for these radios!

      @michaeleber4752 I was recording on GMRS channels 462 mhz. That Nagoya was made specifically for 462-467. It will work on your UHF freq's, but not well on the VHF. Diamond and Nagoya are the same company, I believe. I have this antenna for the UHF VHF frequencies. This antenna will be better for your needs over there:
      amzn.to/4dhzyLA
      Double check your Nagoya order first. If it was from my link, you would want to return it. This Diamond is awesome for HAM.

    AFAIK the H3 only does 27 Mhz RX in FM. So, not super useful in the US, yet, but it does air band AM, so hopefully AM CB RX is another firmware update away. The 0530 didn't get that done yet, but that they're continuing to improve it is awesome.

    Besides the watts and flashlight/GPS, what are the available TX frequency differences between the TD-H3 and the new BF F8HP PRO and the BF AR-5RM? Both are UNLOCKED HAM radios and seem to TX on the exact same frequencies. Please advise.
    I am hoping to pull the trigger and buy one this before Thanksgiving.

    • @FirstUnitedTactical
      @FirstUnitedTactical  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @frankswaim Let's see, all 3 are HAM radios that can be unlocked. The main difference is the brand. In my massive pile of radios, and testing, the TIDradio is a much better performer than Baofeng, any day of the week. Plus, the H3 can receive CB 27mhz band and the others cannot. I won't ever buy a Baofeng for SHTF scenarios. If I didn't have $200 for a really good radio, it would be the H3 all day long. Also, Tidradio puts out firmware updates and baofeng doesn't.

    I just started watching your excellent and informative videos because I recently purchased my first GMRS radio, the TID H8. However, I just starting hearing great things about the TID H3, which seems to offer even more capabilities. Would it be possible for you to do a quick comparison video between the 2? Is it worth getting the H3 if I have the H8? By the way, I have my license, but have no idea how to program the radios and don't know what channels are for what. I see you offer some help and I will be watching your videos. Thanks for what you do!

    • @FirstUnitedTactical
      @FirstUnitedTactical  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi Bill. Thanks! I can tell you that the H3 is more advanced, but it's a smaller keypad. I do a ton of testing videos (previously uploaded) all with the H3 and I constantly brag. They work identical, except the H3 can bow Rx CB, and it has always Rx'd air/AM. I don't really care too much about those two, but with all of the abuse I have put mine through, I stand beside them and strongly recommend! Take a look at my field test videos if you haven't yet. Plus, I did a short H3 video also showing off the Scramble and Bluetooth feature. That is a quick video highlighting those two, but I still brag about how great it is. I wouldn't necessarily spend more money unless you just want to, because they are both great. If you want a smaller handheld than the H8, thus would be your guy. But, big hands and big fingers get in the way on the smaller keypad sometimes.

Go to MyGMRS.com and click the link k to get your GMRS license so you can talk. don't transmit on any channel or frequency until you get your license. GMRS is different from HAM. That's a question that no one can really answer. It was designed for military use (so I've heard) a long time ago. It's supposed to work with another radio that has the hopping feature turned on (both radios) and while talking, it will change frequencies to try and stop others from listening in. We can't get it to work at all. We have tried a group of 4 of us, with 4 radios, and all of us can hear each other just fine. If it works, I don't know how to really make it work.

    My experience with my H8 is that its sensitivity is good, but not great. My H3 has better sensitivity. The downfall of both for me is the very long battery recharge times for either radio. My Quansheng UV-K5 with egzumer firmware slides right between the Tidradio TD-H8 and TD-H3 in sensitivity--better than the H8, just slightly worse than the H3.
