Another great video from you. Very easy to follow. It does transmit on 220m. In normal mode go to menu #52 and turn on 220. Now you have a ham triband. Going to be looking forward to your next video. Thx
I bought a two pack of these little beauties on Amazon for sixty bucks, I think they're $69.99 for two right now with one battery for each. They can even receive air-band once unlocked...
Maybe you just have the one H3 but one of the other awesome programming things it can do is if you have two or more of them. you can clone one to the other wirelessly. I bought a two radio set with the extra batteries and it is great!
Hopefully the FCC will catch up to the idea of the TIDRADIO. If you are a licensed operator using a radio can that can do both, what is the problem? I have a GMRS and HAM license. What is the problem with having both capabilities in one package, as long as you are licensed to talk on the right frequency?
Only REAL downside to the TD-H3 is that is is not weather-proof rated so... you do have to be careful outdoors since it could get messed up in water/bad weather. I wish the H3 has the weather proofing that the H8 has.
May I ask what GMRS antenna you recommend for the H3? The one you have in the video does not look like the stock one... but maybe it is one you use for HAM frequencies ?
Love the information you're sharing. But the one thing I really hate that TH-cam creators do as they mention. They were going to put a link in the description. And all you find are links for items They are trying to sell you. And You don't even find the link that they mentioned that they were going to put in the description. At 10:03 in your video You said you were going to put a link in the description for chirp. And all I find are links of items that you're trying to sell.
Intermod test? Here north of a big city in Texas one of these wideband radios pop open on the carrier squelch every ten seconds or so with TWO voices (often the NWS weather radio) or a modem tone and the NWS voice ... my Motorola MTS2000 of course does not.
There is a “toggle” in ODMASTER where you can choose to not scan those. You can program the side key as a direct to NOAA or simply enter that channel from the face, and you’ll be golden. You can also make that skip from the menu on the radio by moving to the channel, open menu and elect to skip it in the scan.

I thought the h8 wasn't ip rated ? I seen one video the guy said it was weatherproof but looking on the website doesn't mention it at all ?

Yes. Keep in a dry bag in your bag. Get a Bluetooth waterproof mic and you are good to go.

When in GMRS mode, you can still hear HAM transmissions, just not transmit on HAM?

How do you lockout channel, can't find it anywhere....
I had no luck with the Bluetooth programming. It just didn’t do what I wanted and was more complicated than key pad programming.

I have a Baofeng, never could get chirp to work...
Keeps stopping on noaa channels when scanning ,how do i skip the noaa channels?
The easiest way I have found is to select skip in Chirp. I'm sure there is a way to do it in the radio menu but I'm not sure how to do it.

Which buitton is the Yes button?
I think it is the blue button to select yes when switching modes.
Blue button doesn’t work. It went into VFO and now I can’t go back.
