    Information from both Tim, and Dom have guided my keto journal; cyclical dieting, slow carb, cheat days to boost metabolic rate and burn fat, water/ intermittent fasting, and exercise hacks to build, tone muscle-thanks for changing my life guys!

    Wow, what a podcast!!
    Dom's experience and expertise is so insightful, and the fact that Tim remained conscious of his audience and helped simplify the concepts while keeping the conversation rolling and natural was really appreciated.
    Thanks a lot for posting whoever was involved! Definitely subscribed and hope to hear from you two together soon!

      Cup and half of sour cream, and / or coconut cream, pinch of salt, tablespoon of dark chocolate, stevia to taste. Stir and put in freezer until consistency is like ice cream.

    I can't get enough of this information! I believe the best diet is possibly varied through each individual. My personal experience through 3 months of a ketogenic diet is vastly superior to my previous conventional one, however I've been on a high carb, mostly raw vegan diet for 2 weeks now and the increase in my energy/mood is incredible.
    What gives?

    Ok, kind of an off the cuff question, please bear in mind that I'm not a nutritionist on this one in case it's idiotic..BUT
    In the case of people who can't afford to eat grass fed beef (which face it is about 60% of the population), would it be useful to include an Omega 3 supplement which are relatively inexpensive with the meal in which the non grass fed beef was consumed? Would that "balance the ratios of Omega 3 to Omega 6"? If not, what part of the equation am I missing?

    Any thoughts on dr. Dom endorsing or thoughts on pruvit keto os? Didn't see it on Dr Dom's website. Great interview on Ketogenic diets and with a little research pruvits website comes up....they claim to have an mct powder with thier mix but it looks like a pyramid scheme to me....not sure if thier business plan invalidates thier product. Would love to hear this topic on a round 2 interview with Tim and the Dr. Thanks and keep up the good work Tim!!!

      +MrShockj I went to a pruvit keto os event and Dr. Dom was there endorsing both the product and the business opportunity. I take and promote the product. I dont think Dom has any involvement with Pruvit other than being a guru. However Patrick Arnold supplies Pruvit with the BHB for Keto OS.

    HELP .. I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 1991 at age 19.. I ve been taking insulin since .. I would love to go Ketosis .. can I do it effectively and can I get off my insulin .. I think my diabetes is bull .. I believe I don't need it

      With a good keto diet and reasonably contestant monitoring of glucose and ketones you can certainly help, I follow a lot of Doms work... Do you have a dual glucose/keto monitor? (I take it you mean type 1? type 2 is reasonably easy)

    • @SensieRodriguez
      @SensieRodriguez 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      no I don't .. I need to get my hands on one ... I feel like I don't need insulin .. or as much .. I respond well to exercise and eating well.. I just need to figure out a good path from here to there .. so much info and techniques out there

    • @timetothrive1637
      @timetothrive1637 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say getting a duel meter would be a good place to start, I have the freestyle Optium Neo, it was quite cheap, the ketone strips are quite expensive but the glucose strips aren't but you might be able to get them free if your a registered diabetic, and getting to know about how your glucose levels are at various times of the day and where they are at certain times after eating will be important to know to progress.

    I do great on Keto and endurance training.. HOWEVER.. when I dead-lift I tend to have a hard crash after this. Very much like getting the 'keto-flu'. Anyone else experiencing this? It's only happening when I lift heavy and use up all the muscle glucose. I suppose I could do some carb-backloading or pre-lift minimal carb-load. The bottom line is that the crash is so terrible after heavy lift on keto that I will either go off of keto or have to give up heavy lifting (I don't want to do either). Just to clarify, this is after being on keto well beyond the adaptation period...months.

    • @mrclean2022
      @mrclean2022 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As long as you don't over do the preloading of carbs prior to your deadlifitng workout and bust your ass deadlifitng, you should be fine. If your blood glucose is still high after your workout, an intermittent fast should bring you back to ketosis.

    • @TheEverymanReview
      @TheEverymanReview 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carb up or even use some added protein as needed for the workout and supplement with an exogenous ketones. to help get you back into ketosis.

    • @JimmyBlimps

      Please don't carb up, you do NOT need to. What you're missing here is sodium, which is keeping your blood vessels constricted. Have 1g (1000mg) of sodium up to one hour before your workout and you'll be fine.

  • @jimdandy8996
    @jimdandy8996 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    It would seem that if you use exogenous ketones then your body won't switch to ketosis, it won't need to - this is because it won't get signals to burn its own fats since its now getting fuel (exogenously).

    raspberry keton supplements suboptimal?

    • @ryanmunyan
      @ryanmunyan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Tactical X-Rays Short answer is yes. Long answer is raspberry ketones are different from human ketones. RKs do not help ketogenesis nor are they exogenous ketones, they are not usable in the human body. RKs are a natural substance that give raspberries their sweet scent and flavor, and they have been marketed in the past as weight loss supplements (thank you Dr. Oz) but I think marketers are just banking on their name to confuse you in my opinion. They are not fats. I would guess that they MAY help your energy levels when you are already in a state of ketosis but to my knowledge would not help you in any way get into a state of ketosis.

      That smells of bullshit

    • @halflucan
      @halflucan 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're proposing that you have something that can change how someones entire body metabolisies fuel in less than an hour. Thats bullshit
      Even these guys with vested interests in exogenous ketones and ketone esters wouldn't recommend "overdosing" to get the result you claim to be able to create.

    Tim needs to stop interrupting Dom for a vocabulary lesson because it ruins the flow of the conversation. If one's not literate enough in the jargon then their level of understanding probably stays around "fasting people could do better on chemo" and they won't benefit anymore by knowing what "BMI" is defined as.

    • @jselectronics8215
      @jselectronics8215 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I agree totally. The flow is interrupted, and worse, he gets Dom off the subject. For example, Dom was going to explain Cahill's fasting experiment but Tim interrupted him, so he never got around to finishing the story.

    What's the pH of someone in ketosis and if ur pH is high cause wim hof breathing then u in ketosis?

    • @amplifiedhealthnow7100
      @amplifiedhealthnow7100 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      here is something interesting. Ketosis is very acid in nature. Funny that my urine has never been more alkaline since taking exogenous ketones.

    • @TheMystery51
      @TheMystery51 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember my chemistry class correctly, our blood has a buffer (carbonic acid) that absorbs the fluctuations in pH. I guess ketoacidosis just becomes too much for the body and it's buffers.

    • @amplifiedhealthnow7100
      @amplifiedhealthnow7100 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ketoacidosis typically only happens when one does NOT produce insulin as with a Type 1 diabetic. Someone who does would probably literally have to OD on exogenous ketones to drive up levels.
