Very good tips and tricks on how to use a simple light setup. Less is more in my opinion. There's only one thing wrong in this video and it's the setup of the lantern @9:30 where the gobo head is face the wrong direction. For security purpose, the gobo head tighten knob should ALWAYS be on the right side, never on the left. The weight of the light (with the modifier) will continue to tighten the gobo head so it is way more safe...specially if there's someone underneath.
Otherwise, good job it was very concise and well presented :)

Awesome video, brother. I watched a ton of others and this was the simplest. I'm re-launching my entire TH-cam soon so this was helpful. Would you mind dropping your parabolic softbox and c-stand for your light? I'm drowning in options and and tired of researching, haha.

Oh wow that’s so awesome thank you so much! I’m really glad the video helped.
Absolutely I’d be happy to share what gear I use. I totally know how that feels haha! If you’re looking to purchase the Amaran 60X then I recommend the Aputure Light Dome Mini. Aputure has a bigger one but for the 60x, I feel that this smaller soft box works best because it’s not as heavy and the light is really small. Although, if you’re using the Aputure 120D then the bigger Light Dome works great and will give a brighter but softer look. A couple of inexpensive alternatives to the 120D would be the Godox VL150 or the Amaran 200D. Both of these will give you much brighter light than the Amaran 60X and also look great. But it all just depends on what your needs are. All of these lights work really great and the Amaran 60x is plenty bright for most of my lighting needs. For the Godox VL 150 I have a Godox QR-P70 parabolic soft box.
For my C-stand I went with the Neewer Pro. A little pricey but they pretty solid and I’ve had them for quite a few years and I haven’t had any issues with them.
I’ve added links to the parabolic soft boxes and C-stands I use below. I hope this helps! I’d love to check you channel when it relaunches! Thank you so much for reaching out and for watching the video!

i aint no expert but why did you left the plastic cover on your led light (i think the amran line) 0:08. i am kinda sure it could melt/deform it.

Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it. LED lights don’t really get as hot as the old incandescent lighting. And I’ve had the plastic on these lights for long periods of time with no issues before. But I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future videos. Thanks again for your thoughts and thank you so much for watching!
