The RX8 was absolutely phenomenal despite what you might’ve heard. This wasn’t what it “could’ve been”, no road going Mazda was ever like this. Highest power NA Rotary at 10k with 50/50 weight distribution is a wild thing to experience, even without a 3 rotor like this.
The rx8 was done so dirty. One of the best handling cars ive ever driven, had it been given an engine that did the platform justice, it would be a modern classic instead of a redheaded step child
Something about kiwi rotors , make much more power na then the states or Europe. Aussies and Puerto Rico are definitely up there as well . But there are 13b pp engines here in nz in the 300hp plus range easy
Siempre supe que al Mazda Rx8 le faltó el tercer rotor y unos turbos ,en bajas rpm es coche muerto . En Europa es muy difícil y caro jugar a mecánicos soñadores.Estuve ilusionado en ponerle un 20 B del Mazda Cosmos a mi Rx8. ❤😂 Que disfrutéis ese Mazda ❤
@@putin__huilo Did you see that HP curve? Totally flat for the entire top 1/2 of the RPM range. Weird. But that also means that it'll be faster than just about any conventional engine with the same peak power #.
@@tubejorrit Something is going on there and they havnt never built one before, including Vargas himself. They’ll figure it out. But usually a PP n/a will get close to 150hp a rotor.
They showed the screen after the first pull, and it said 330.17. I'm guessing that's in HP, but it might be in kW since they're in the UK. 330 HP = ~246 kW, and 330 kW = ~440 HP. Not sure how much they made at the end of the dyno session.

No, that is HP, look at the torque and the intersection of the graphs...
