    Gustavo, the bottom position in the half guard is the most complex of all positions. The way you explain and break things down and then build it up to a whole is so clear (like with the side mount artillery instructional); any chance you could do a video instructional series on the half guard as an offensive position?

      Thanks for the kind words Richard and for the suggestion too, bottom half-guard is a great topic for an instructional series, let's see, maybe after this pandemic 🤷

    Another great video. Crystal clear explanation of various aspects of the position. Thanks Prof. Gustavo. From an online student of yours in Maryland! Hopefully I will stop by one day to say thanks.

    Foot on the hip is interesting, I feel like I almost always see people flexing the foot around the back. Still like that placement?

      It's a great option especially when your opponent plays more stationary, it adds some extra structure to your shield.

    (sorry about my english) My master said that half guard and knee shield will be good for me. But everytime im in this position, 2 things happen: 1st one, they just get up. Is very easy for them to break the bottom leg hook, then im lost. The 2nd one, others just prefer, to push the other leg (the one doing knee shield) against the bottom leg, so they can pass and get me from behind or putt all the wheight against me. Is there any way to avoid this?

    What about estima lock?

    • @MMALeech
      @MMALeech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No Estima Lock if you keep the ball of your foot on his hip, just move your foot out if he tries that.
