- Join me for some thrifting at my go-to Goodwill that recently moved locations - something I've been worried about. I finally made the decision to check it out and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you! Afterwards, I'll show you my thrifted haul along with my GIFTED haul. Check out the vlog to find out more!
Here's a link to visit my online ebay store: www.ebay.com/s...
Hi Kris. Another fantastic episode. You found some very nice things at Goodwill and your friend was so kind to gift you those wonderful items. You have great taste and I love how you style your home.
Thank you so much for the very kind comment!
I love all your gifts.
Oh my, those gorgeous vintage broaches makes me want to dress up just so I can wear them!
Me too! Everything seemed more glamorous back in the day!
The monopoly story was a great memory. ❤️
Awwww, thanks. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Loved it all
I love old books too! I have a feeling that your channel is going to grow very quickly!👍
You're very kind to say so . I hope you're correct! My fingers are crossed!
Fantastic video!!! Sooo many awesome things. Loved your haul and the gifts. I am drooling over the jewelry! Also, the handkerchiefs. I have my Grandmother's handkerchiefs and also an aunts. I have procrastinated but intend to frame some of them. I love glassware, especially teapots and pitchers.❤
I bet their handkerchiefs would look beautiful framed - what a great idea! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
I have the Pierre book and love reading it my kids at school. Love it!
That's so sweet! I love it!
The Whiting & Davis pocket books are collectable. So pretty. 😊❤
Thank you! I love the way they look all grouped together.
Another great video! 😄
Hi Kris so glad your favorite Goodwilll wasn’t a disappointment. I’m so inspired by your friend. How brave she is to quit her job, find a new one and start a new life! I wish her all the best ❤ Just curious where you met your friend for lunch? It looked very nice on the water. Enjoy your new finds! My favorite was the black divided tray…shocking 😂 (since it resembles tole trays) great video 😊
Hi Laura! Yes, Carrie is very brave and nothing holds her back - she always inspires me! The restaurant you're referencing is Shell and Bones in New Haven - it's right on the water - such a pretty view! Not the cheapest place, but the food is excellent. (Parking can be tricky). I'm glad you enjoyed the tray and the video!
Hi Kris! Love today’s GW adventure. Oh, my it would be tough to keep my nose out of those back room bins. I admire your restraint. I’m a retired Illinois teacher and my brother lives in Burlington, WV. It is beautiful out there.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I'm really looking forward to a trip to WV. It's about a 7 hour drive from here, so not super close, but definitely do-able.
A very special friend to you, your new Goodwill seemed so nice, ours are just awful in our town thank you for sharing ❤
My pleasure! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I have the brown transferware that is Charlotte, has the flower basket on the plates etc, is that bowl a newer make? Love it regardless! Your collection is gorgeous!!
Love the books your friend gave you! And the print! Good luck to her as well!! 😊
Oh I LOVE the hankies! I have quite a collection😂can’t stop!😂
Are the marbles made of stone?
The mirror is beautiful.
Absolutely love the cameo pin and the long stem floral one after it. Awesome. ❤
Yes, I definitely suspect that the bowl is a newer make or a reproduction of an older pattern. I'm so glad you enjoyed my various finds and gifts! I think the marbles are made of clay, but to be honest, I'm not at all knowledgeable about old marbles and have never collected them. I definitely need to some research. Thanks so much for watching and kindly leaving me a comment!
You passed on the Hofbauer Byrdes candy dish. I have that piece in clear without the red flashing. I have many pieces of this collection. I prefer the clear the only piece with red that I have is the cream and sugar. This seems to sell on eBay. That’s where I bought most of mine.
Thank you for letting me know what it's called! It was a beautiful piece and very, very tempting. I bet your collection is lovely!
Hi Kris, I really enjoyed your video today, so interesting! Thanks for the info on the new store in Hamden, I also really liked the old location and always found many things there for a good price, so it's good to hear they didn't veer off course with their new location.
Also, I loved all the things from Carrie. The book, Moll Flanders, brought back such a memory! Growing up, my mom had that book in her collection, so as a young girl, I read it. Well, as I recall it was quite risqué, lol.
Thanks for bringing us such good, informative and fun content. I always enjoy watching!
Deb
Hi Debbie! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Definitely check out the new Goodwill location. Better yet, take me with you!
Hi Kris, always fun to tune into your adventures and finds.I’m a retired public school educator ( Michigan) and also love to thrift for old decorative items. Love the thrill of the hunt. Goodwill where I live is my least favorite. We have different thrift stores and some are better than others. Also love to research my item which is equally fun.
The hunt is the best part, right? I find that Goodwill stores vary quite a bit around here. Some of them are a total waste of time, and others are pretty good. The smaller (non-chain) thrift stores are definitely my favorite.
@@WorthingtonHome the hunt is the best cause you never know what you will find. Most of the time not much but when you do❤️❤️❤️.
Those are clay marbles. I believe Revolutionary War Era.
Really? I know nothing about marbles, but you've inspired me to do some research! Thank you!
❤❤
I don’t buy anything that says made in China 🤷🏼♀️
Just take the sticker off and look or have them take it off at the register
The sticker didn't really come off in one piece - it hung on for dear life. Good point - I could definitely ask them to take it off at the register. Maybe I'll try that next time!
