    I am cat lover, I love when your fur babies interrupt your videos. when I got married in Brandford some 28 yrs ago . My beloved cat Mischa ( named after Mikhail Baryshnikov) I had pictures of us taken in my wedding dress the day of the wedding. My daughter continued this tradition with her cat Natasha, when she got married this past September. Living in the NC we have fostered neonatal kittens who need to be bottle fed or they would be put down . Fostering helps with over crowding shelters and when it comes to potential adopter that the cats have socialized with dogs ect.

      I love the names of your family cats! I think it's amazing that you fostered neonatal kittens. It must be a lot of work, but so gratifying! I can definitely appreciate that shelters can be scary places for small animals.

    Loved the video. I am a cat person also. Have always had a cat. My last cat, Odie, died last year at 19 years old. My grandsons named him because they got one too that looked like Garfield and of course because we had a Garfield we also had to have an Odie. He was from a shelter and had been severely abused when he was a small kitten. He was afraid of everything. It took me a year to get him to the point he would sit in my lap. Up until the day he died if anyone came to my home he would hide. He was just the strangest cat ever. I sure do miss my scaredy cat. He was all black except for a small white heart shape on his chest. I enjoyed seeing your cats and hearing their story.

      Thank you so much for telling me about Odie! It sounds like he ended up in the best possible home with you. 💕💕

    Boy, oh boy! Both of those shops seemed expensive. I thought for sure you would buy that tole tray table with the bamboo style legs.
    Thank you for sharing you Indie and Iris story. They were (and still are) adorable. Your sweet Alice certainly was a tolerant kitty, wasn’t she?🥰

      I tried to be restrained in the store, but it wasn't easy! Alice was a complete saint. I think it helps when kittens (or puppies) are raised with small children from the very beginning.

    I love the cats. Thanks for sharing their story. I had a white cat with blue eyes that was deaf he was a great cat and was so affectionate when he was young. My last two cats were Himalayans because I have always had birds and they have absolutely no cat instincts about birds. I have not had birds or cats for a few years and I miss both of them. I just have my two Papillons. I would also have bought the little lamb.

      Himalayans are so beautiful! I didn't know they had no instincts about birds. Papillons are gorgeous little dogs - you have good taste!

    Great episode! So many beautiful, but pricy things. Thank you for showing the tole trays! I love them. I actually have a “table” with a tole tray top. The legs on mine are faux bamboo and they fold up when not in use. It’s a fun piece and very useful when needed. Thanks for another great video. ❤

      Antique stores are usually a bit pricy, but it's so nice to see lots of really beautiful things all in one place, don't you find?

    A lamb bank like yours sold on EBay for $25.00 plus $7.85 shipping on June 4. So you did fine, not a giveaway but not overpriced either. Not many of these banks around it seems. I really enjoy your videos because they are so close to home!😅

      I'm so glad you enjoy the videos! Nice research - sounds like my purchase was pretty much on the mark. I didn't see any comps when I looked, but then again, I planned to keep it so I didn't look too hard!

    Your kitties are precious!
    Fun Fact: White cats with two eye colors (one blue, one green, etc) ALWAYS are deaf. And yes - white cats, even with matching eye-colors, are often deaf. It’s a genetic mutation.

      @WorthingtonHome  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If a piece is unmarked, in all likelihood it was made before 1891. That's because before that date, US law didn't require markings at all. In 1891, the law required that a manufacturer's designation and country of origin be put on each piece. In 1921, the law again changed to require this information be written in English. That's why prior to 1921, you'll see "Nippon" but in 1921 and after, you'll see "Japan."
    So don't automatically pass over unmarked pieces. Consider the design elements, the way it was manufactured and the materials used to help you date the piece. Being able to say that a hatpin holder is unmarked BUT the design and use of the piece tell us it was made prior to 1891 does support a piece's value.

    • @WorthingtonHome
      @WorthingtonHome  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You raise such a good point (about not overlooking unmarked pieces). Because I'm still learning (and have a long way to go), I feel more assured in my purchases when I have something like a backstamp to give me some guidance. I need to spend some serious time with some of the resource books I've collected so I can rely on what's in my head - as opposed to just a backstamp. Thanks for leaving me such an insightful comment!
