One can't believe in Buddhism and Christianity in the same time, the basic philosophies are too different. Buddhism does not have a God, where will the Son of God come from ?

Shakyamuni Buddha is a Teacher, a human and it's not a god.
Buddhism is not a religion but an education of wisdom.
Buddha teaches and asked his students not to blindly follow what he teaches, instead encourages them to experiment his teachings and experience the truth about life and our surrounding. Without wisdom, you will never be able to resolve any issues in life.
Christians are told to obey God's order without question.
Christianity says, those who do not believe in me (Jesus) shall perish.
One is a Teaching, the other is a religion.
Religions can benefit from the Buddha's Teachings. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for your insightful comment, Elmer Tan. You’ve articulated a key distinction in how Shakyamuni Buddha is perceived within Buddhism and the approach the Buddha advocated for his teachings. Indeed, Buddha is revered not as a deity but as a teacher who encouraged inquiry and personal verification of truths through experience, which is a central aspect of the Buddhist path toward wisdom and enlightenment.
Your comparison with Christianity’s approach to faith and obedience brings an interesting contrast into focus, illustrating different spiritual paradigms between following teachings through personal exploration versus accepting them on faith. These differences underline the diverse ways in which spiritual traditions guide their followers toward understanding and living out their beliefs.
It’s enriching to discuss how different religious teachings can inform and benefit each other, as you suggest. If you or others have thoughts on specific aspects of Buddha’s teachings that could enrich other religious practices, or if there are particular stories from Christian teachings that resonate with Buddhist ideas, I’d love to hear more. Let’s continue exploring these profound teachings together and see how they might complement each other in our quest for spiritual growth and understanding.

Chr: don't doubt it, just accept and have Faith, ask if not understand, whether one thinks it is compatible or not, just accept with full faith, never have the slightest doubt .....
Bud: doubt first, then find out, ask if not understand, take whichever one thinks is compatible, leave whichever one finds it hard to accept, then practice to gain experience, consistent long-term experience leads to wisdom, and finally it becomes Faith ...

    • @EgoPodcastenglish

@franklinocha4439 “Thank you for your insightful comment, @franklinocha4439. You’ve articulated very clearly the distinct approaches to faith in Christianity and Buddhism. Christianity often emphasizes faith as a foundation-believing in God’s word and trusting His plan, even when it might not be fully understood. This kind of faith can provide profound comfort and a sense of purpose to many.
On the other hand, Buddhism encourages a path of inquiry-where doubt is not seen as a hindrance but as a starting point for deeper understanding. This approach encourages individuals to explore, question, and test the teachings to discover their truth personally, which can lead to a profound and experientially backed faith.
Both paths offer valuable lessons on spiritual development, and understanding these differences can enrich our appreciation of both traditions.

Jesus was an enlightened teacher. He never asked anyone to worship him.
Christianity was created after he was long dead, by people with selfish strategic intentions who twisted his teachings and forged his origins to suit their purposes.

Jesus copied from Buddha: Maya and Mary, miracle birth and virgin birth, birth during a journey home and birth from home, prophesied after birth, had a disciple who betrayed them, walked on water stories, Gautama left the palace at age 29 and Jesus appeared at 29, Gautama became Buddha at 35 and Jesus died and resurrected at about 35 too, Buddha had a big meal while Jesus had a last supper before they died, 500 Arahants witnessed compilation of Buddha's teachings and over 500 witnesses to Jesus's resurrection, Buddha sacrificed his future kingdom and family while Jesus sacrificed his life, there will be a future Buddha and Jesus will return, the Trinity is same meaning as in the 3 bodies of the Buddha etc.

A segment from 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within'...
My new understandings of what many call 'God -The Holy Spirit' - resulting from some of the extraordinary ongoing after-effects relating to my NDE, when I was struck by lightning during September 1970.
Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave.
The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist.
For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is.
Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment.
The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing.
The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence.
The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists.
Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’.
On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication.
For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything.
NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.

Important to study Buddha & Jesus so soon enough one will learn about Krishna and then really make great progress! Funny, ha ha - though it can help to realize the relativity of these great teachers. Their order of seniority is Krishna, Christ, Buddha. Osho has greatness but also some limitations as well as some built in confusions that can be tricky for some to navigate. It is a helpful presentation. One thing to consider is that the goal is not foremostly a peaceful, inclusive world. This is an aspect of the true teachings in various formats. More essential is to see that conflict produces the necessity of overcoming ignorance and suffering. Discovery of the eternal nature and way of life fulfills the utmost purpose of all narratives providing guidance to the soul. (Some ask - how do we know this seniority order is true? ::: Applying the Christian trinity, Christ is the Son, Buddha is the Holy Spirit and Krishna is the Father. Applying the Hindu trinity, Christ is of Brahma the Creator, Buddha is of Siva the Destroyer and Krishna is the Maintainer. Hinduism is the only religion of the three that is complete, meaning it goes through all ages. Buddha is an Indian Avatar who taught elements of Hindu sacred wisdom.

Budha had never claimed himself either God or Son of God. He endeavoured to find out the causes for grievances. He ultimately realised there is nothing like happiness or grief.
But the story of Jesus is different. He was the person to claim himself as son of god and always tried to alleviate sorrows of his visitors.
So while Budha is like a philosopher, Jesus is somewhat like a magician.

No one thought he was God when he was born or when they crucified him. These stories came up long after he was dead.

Thank you for highlighting this important distinction between the teachings of Jesus and Buddha. Indeed, Buddha explicitly taught compassion towards all living beings, including animals, which is a central tenet of Buddhism. The practice of Metta (loving-kindness) and Karuna (compassion) in Buddhism encourages followers to extend their empathy to all creatures, emphasizing the interconnection and interdependence of all life.
While traditional Christian teachings as recorded in the New Testament primarily focus on human relationships, the broader Christian ethic does encompass care for all of God’s creation, which includes animals. Some interpretations of Christian doctrine suggest that human beings have a stewardship role over nature, which implicitly calls for kindness and compassionate treatment of animals. However, this is not as directly emphasized in Jesus’ teachings as it is in Buddhism

Now that you made this (maybe correct) discrimination. Let's not forget the love between man and God which Jesus Christ proclaimed and emphasized above every other love ("Thou shall love... and all your mind.")
That is totally lacking in the teachings of Buddha due to the overall concept.
It's absolutely right and truthful and necessary to love and respect every other living being. And it's a beautiful and wholesome thing to practice. But there nothing as quite important as loving God.
I consider this the main difference between both religions/concepts. Therefore I cannot accept Buddhism as a quite good or wholesome religion or call it concept as a God related and God devoted religion or taching. Specially when it so perfect as from Jesus Christ who lived and embodied his own teaching with every breath he took.
God is the Ultimate Truth and Love to Him is the Ultimate way, therefor and ultimately despite all the good and very good take it has, I can not take Buddhism seriously as a way of life. Because apparently there is no such thing as life without God ❤

This is the core of the similarity between Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha. Gautama Buddha said there is no "Self". Jesus Christ said to deny the self. Both, saying the same thing at different times and in different cultures. Jesus said to pick up your cross and follow him. Buddha gave the 8 fold path to follow. Dig down beneath the many dogmas of both and you will discover more similarities than differences. Buddha represents the perfect mind, and Christ represents the perfect heart.

Thank you for the effort to bring up the main points of both religions.
The only point that I found not complete is the determinism attributed to budism: As a budist I always heard that we are subjected to deterministic aspect of the Karma , But we have the free will to maneuver our path to the direction we find the best. It’s not instantaneous but we can mold our path with patience and perseverance. That’s where we assume a responsibility of our actions and thoughts!!
But all the tendencies and past actions have undoubtedly a big effect on our actual behaviour. But they are no excuse to abandon our intention to perfect our path and overcome negative tendencies.

This is a great video! The comparison between the teachings of Jesus Christ and Buddha opens up a profound perspective on the common values of compassion, love, and liberation. It proves that, despite originating from different cultural backgrounds, we all seek paths that lead to inner peace and enlightenment. Though the methods and language may differ, the messages of love and forgiveness are the guiding light on the journey towards tranquility.

Before Gautama Buddha, there existed the Vedic period, which is evidenced by the lack of solid archaeological evidence supporting its existence in India to date. Prior to Siddhartha Gautama, there were already many Buddhas, as evidenced by relics such as those found at Sachi Stupa Madhya Pradesh, India.

A fascinating topic! While Jesus and Buddha lived in different times and cultures, their teachings share some striking similarities. Here are some of the most notable parallels:
**1. The Four Noble Truths vs. The Beatitudes**: Both Jesus and Buddha taught that suffering is a fundamental part of human existence. In the Four Noble Truths, Buddha identified the causes of suffering (attachment, aversion, and ignorance) and the path to end it (the Eightfold Path). Similarly, Jesus' Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-12 describe the characteristics of those who are blessed and will find happiness.
**2. The importance of compassion and loving-kindness**: Both Jesus and Buddha emphasized the importance of compassion and loving-kindness towards all beings. Jesus taught his followers to love their neighbors as themselves (Mark 12:31) and Buddha taught loving-kindness meditation (Metta) as a means to cultivate compassion.
**3. Non-violent resistance**: Both Jesus and Buddha advocated for non-violent resistance to overcome evil. Jesus taught his followers to turn the other cheek (Matthew 5:38-42) and to love their enemies (Matthew 5:43-48), while Buddha taught the concept of "harmlessness" (Ahimsa) in his Eightfold Path.
**4. The concept of inner wisdom**: Both Jesus and Buddha emphasized the importance of inner wisdom and intuition. Jesus taught that his followers should listen to their inner voice (Matthew 7:7-8) and Buddha taught that wisdom arises from direct experience and insight (Prajna).
**5. The significance of mindfulness**: Both Jesus and Buddha taught mindfulness as a means to cultivate awareness and presence in daily life. Jesus taught his followers to be aware of their thoughts and actions (Matthew 5:22-26), while Buddha taught mindfulness meditation (Sati) as a means to develop concentration and wisdom.
**6. The importance of self-reflection and introspection**: Both Jesus and Buddha emphasized the importance of self-reflection and introspection. Jesus taught his followers to examine their own hearts (Matthew 5:23-24) and Buddha taught meditation on impermanence, suffering, and no-self (Anatman) as a means to cultivate self-awareness.
**7. The concept of karma**: Both Jesus and Buddha taught that our actions have consequences. In Buddhism, karma refers to the principle that every action has an effect, while in Christianity, it is expressed through the concept of "reaping what you sow" (Galatians 6:7).
**8. The emphasis on spiritual growth**: Both Jesus and Buddha emphasized the importance of spiritual growth and transformation. Jesus taught his followers to seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33), while Buddha taught that the goal of spiritual practice is to attain enlightenment (Bodhi) or Nirvana.
**9. The concept of forgiveness**: Both Jesus and Buddha taught the importance of forgiveness. Jesus taught his followers to forgive others (Matthew 6:14-15) and Buddha taught that forgiveness is a necessary step towards liberation from suffering.
**10. The emphasis on simplicity and detachment**: Both Jesus and Buddha advocated for simplicity and detachment from worldly attachments. Jesus taught his followers to store up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:19-20), while Buddha taught that attachment is a root cause of suffering.
These similarities reflect the common human quest for meaning, compassion, and wisdom across cultures and traditions. While there are certainly differences between Jesus' teachings and those of Buddha, these parallels highlight the shared concerns and values that underlie their teachings.

Abrahamic traditions had nothing to do with Jesus teachings. Both were extreme opposite. Except in theology, Jesus teachings were similar to Buddhist tradition of non violence (in a different spirit).
In those days people went to India from various parts of the world to gain knowledge. Nalanda & takshila, the two ancient universities were Buddhist centres of various studies. There is a big chance that Jesus (lost 18 years) could have visited India.

fundamental distinction between Buddh-ism and Christian-ism: Buddha’s teachings are a comprehensive guide to the investigation of the mind - everything relies on cause and effects - and dependent origination… there is no outsider in this… not a person, nor a god… with all due respect to Book-bound religions; it may read similarly, but fundamentally there is a power outside that seems to absorb all explanations… they all delve in duality… while Buddhism is the quintessence of non dualism

By way of our thoughts, words and deeds we can be supportive and encouraging.
But most importantly, silent when need be.
In a world full of mostly young souls evolving via, experience, We should take responsibility of existence via, our prayers and gentle outward kindness.
Our prayers and benevolent intentions are probably much more powerful than We know.
One of my personal teachers, Sri Ramana Maharishi has said, (paraphrasing) when We genuinely help and care for others, even if our actions don’t bear fruit, we further our own spiritual evolution.
    Peace.🙏

Thank you for your profound reflections. Your emphasis on the power of thoughts, words, and deeds aligns beautifully with both Buddhist and Christian teachings. The idea that silent support can be as impactful as overt actions reminds us of the subtlety and depth of true compassion.
Your mention of the influence of prayers and intentions echoes a core belief found across many spiritual traditions: that our inner life deeply affects the outer world. This is a powerful reminder of our responsibility towards each other and the world we inhabit.
Sri Ramana Maharishi’s teachings, as you’ve paraphrased, highlight an essential truth about service and kindness-that our efforts to help others, regardless of the immediate outcomes, enrich our own spiritual journey. This is a wonderful lesson in the intrinsic value of altruism and the interconnectedness of all life.
Thank you for sharing these insights, which invite us all to reflect on how we can live more thoughtfully and kindly.

Do not make mistake comparing Buddha with any one. Buddha was able to scan his past lives all the way to the beginning of creation and counted to have come to the 96 th big bang his own words, Any religion that does not connects to the Buddhism is not a real higher path. Buddha's teaching is to last only for another 2500 years left. That much time has already elapsed and his teaching is available on the earth for the period of 5000 years only. It supposed to be for 10000 years but 5000 is reduced because the females also forced Buddha to be admitted in the Buddhist Sanghs.
Christianity of Jesus Christ is the Mahayana Buddhism actually.

I'm from Cambodia a country that has embraced Buddhism for centuries as its national religion. And I would like to hear your opinions. Here we discuss Jesus Christ and Buddha. Who is who really? Beyond exposing their teachings, I urge and encourage the maker of this video to come up with another similar video about Jesus Christ and Buddha. Buddhism vs. Christianity. From the two beliefs we want to know what does the future hold for mankind in its entirety? Was Jesus Christ God the Creator of all things, including the existence of Buddha, as mentioned in the Bible? Did Jesus Christ leave a promise with mankind before He went back to Heaven that He would prepare a brand-new heaven and a new Earth for mankind, His worshipers in particular, and He would come again to this Earth to receive them to the new home planet? And who was Buddha? Did he leave any promise to mankind during his living years?

Yes, the Lord Jesus is the ruler of the entire universe. Above all of us is the Father, the supreme God who holds power over everything. Jesus Christ is sent by the Father to save the world from sin. Each of us has made mistakes, entertained wrong thoughts, and shown disloyalty. Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit and also represents the Father because he is the way and the truth to the Father.
God possesses infinite self-power; He grants us the spirit to live and determines when we pass away. There is one powerful evil spiritual entity who is forever opposed to God. This spiritual force manifests as negative thoughts, pornography, drugs, and even in bad music, and so more, leading to harmful addictions.

In his ' Flower Sermon ', which is considered to be the origin of Zen, instead of his usual discourse on Dharma, Buddha merely took a flower, and without uttering a word, hoisted it up in a gesture of consideration. Jesus asked His disciples to consider the lilly.

    • @EgoPodcastenglish
      @EgoPodcastenglish  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for highlighting this beautiful similarity, Edward! The Flower Sermon is indeed a pivotal moment in Buddhist teaching, particularly as it marks the beginning of what would later be known as Zen Buddhism. It’s a profound example of non-verbal communication of the Dharma, focusing on direct experience and perception beyond words.
Similarly, Jesus’s instruction to ‘consider the lily’ in the Gospel of Matthew also teaches us to observe and reflect on the simpler, often overlooked aspects of life, emphasizing trust and the rejection of material concerns.
Both instances encourage a deeper contemplation of the world around us, urging us to find spiritual wisdom in the natural, everyday existence. It’s intriguing to see how both spiritual leaders used the natural world to convey important teachings. If you have more insights or reflections on this topic, or other similar teachings from different traditions, I’d love to hear more. Let’s continue exploring these profound spiritual connections together!

I would flatter myself by saying 'great minds think alike' because before watching this footage, I had already made a comparison between how the Buddha approached the issue of death/resurrection and how Jesus did the same thing. Personally, I would definitely agree with the Buddha (, who advocated the inevitability of death and the impossibility of resurrection).
Jesus' miracle on Lazarus poses many problems:
besides having no ultimate value (as shown in the footage), this miracle was not fair. For one thing, what great deeds had Lazarus done so that he deserved this privileged treatment? Why was this miracle not applied to other people? Unfair treatment easily breeds frustration, despair, jealousy and other hard feelings.

    • @stevenleung8779
      @stevenleung8779 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

As for Jesus' own resurrection, it is not as great as it sounds. His 'death' is supposed to be an act of redemption for man's sin, but if he can rise from it afterwards, the halo instantly dims. Furthermore, if he is/were a deity(or God Himself), he should have predicted his resurrection 3 days after his death long ago, and he need not have panicked first in Gethsemane and later on the cross.
Finally, the well-known exclamation 'Father, why have You forsaken me?' is really baffling:
      1. Was he aware/unaware of his painful mission/ordeal prior to his death? Why would he complain to his Father about giving him up?

    Mustard Seeds and Moving Mountains
"Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a MUSTARD SEED, you can say to this MOUNTAIN ‘MOVE from here to there,’ and it will move." Matt 17:20
“The Bodhisattva who lives in the inconceivable liberation can MOVE the king of MOUNTAINS, Sumeru, which is so high, so great, so noble, and so vast, into a MUSTARD SEED. He can perform this feat without enlarging the mustard seed and without shrinking Mount Sumeru.” ―The Holy Teaching of Vimalakirti, p. 52
"In the whole universe there is not a single spot so small as a MUSTARD SEED where he has not surrendered his body for the sake of creatures"- Saddharma Pundarika
This is paralleled in the Gospel of Phillip
"It was not only when he appeared that he voluntarily laid down his life, but he voluntarily laid down his life from the very day the world came into being" - Gospel of Phillip
"The Savior was crucified on every tree" - Mani
The Saddharma Pundarika sutra, like many Mahayana Buddhist sutras, claims that a small amount of faith will cause believers to obtain supernatural abilities. Others have pointed out how the Mahayana Buddhist miracles are always more grandiose and unbelievable than the already hard to believe New Testament miracles. The Saddharma Pundarika sutra calls the future hero Maitreya " Seeker of Fame (kirti)' which is paralleled to Christ's Glory.
Jesus is said to walk on water and through walls: these, including the ability to displace earth and Earth, are a few supernatural abilities said to be possessed by the Buddhist who attains iddhi.
“A Bodhisattva who possesses the Shurangama-samadhi can insert this triple world into a mustard seed in such a way that the mountains, rivers, suns, moons and stars appear all as before, without constricting or disturbing beings.”―Surangama-samadhi-sutra, Etienne Lamotte, p. 162.
“Bring me a fruit of that Nyagrodha tree.” “Here it is, Sir.” “Break it.” “It is broken, Sir.” “What do you see there.” “These seeds, exceedingly small, Sir.” “Break one of these my son [pupil].”
It is broken, sir.” “What do you see there?” “Nothing at all, Sir.” “That subtle essence [‘suksma anu’], my dear, which you do not perceive there, from that very essence this great nyagrodha arises. Now that which is the subtle essence, in it all that exists has itself, which is truth.” ―The Untold Story about Greek Rational Thought: Buddhist and Other Indian Rationalist Iinfluences on Sophistic Rhetoric, p. 226.
"Like a mustard seed balanced on the point of a needle, the sage who is not bound by the pleasures of the senses is called a jina"- Dhammapada
The mustard seed representing something very tiny is used in both faiths in conjunction with the aspiration to move mountains. Although the epithet 'Hurler of Mountains' was used in India and Greece, there are many Buddhists miracles claiming that mountains were supernaturally moved.
It is odd that the Buddhists use mustard seeds to represent tininess when their representative pipal tree that grows to a fair height has some of the tiniest seeds in the world. The pre- Christian Buddhist use of mustard seeds to represent something tiny includes many attestations compared to single gospel usages. In another Buddhist text (MSV, I, pp. 186-187) the monk Udayi says his mind is as small as a mustard seed compared to the mountain like mind of the Buddha.
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?" Matt 5:13
“The nature of salt is salty. It truly makes what is not salty [taste] salty. If there were already a salty nature in what is not salty, why would people continue to seek to possess salt? If there were no saltiness before, then that would be [a case of] what was not becoming so now. By the help of the [right] condition, we get saltiness. All things possess the nature of saltiness, but we do not feel this, on account of the smallness of the amount. This smallness in nature makes things salty. If there were not this salty nature, even salt could not bring forth [the quality of] saltiness.” - Mahaparinirvana sutra
Jesus follows his representative use of salt with the line " You are the light of the world" Matt 5:14
Other Gospels also use the phrase " light of the world" and scholars have pointed out that this phraseology was also used by the Mandaeans and Manichaeans. They fail to mention that the same phrase was often applied to the Buddha
"so dippo lokassa”-“The light of the world". Other phrases shared between the two faiths include the marker 'until the end of the aeon / kalpa', 'the way'. Jesus is called " The Good Doctor" and the Buddha is called "The Best Doctor" (bhisagvara).
The Vimalakirti sutra speaks of the Buddhist expedient of faking sickness to evoke compassion and the gospel Passion Narrative, wrongly portraying a permanent death, also seems constructed to invoke pity. The Lotus sutra Buddha says he fakes his death in order to cause beings to realize how hard it is to behold a Buddha. This is paralleled to the fervor behind Christ's Second Coming.
, “You will undoubtedly quote me this proverb: 'Physician, heal yourself'-Luke 4:23
“Reverend Ananda, do not bring shame upon us, but go in silence, lest the heterodox sectarians should hear your words. They would say, ‘For shame! The teacher of these people cannot even cure his own sicknesses. How then can he cure the sicknesses of others?’" - Vimalakirti sutra
“The giver who makes gifts to the lowliest poor of the city, considering them as worthy of offering as the Tathagata himself, the giver who gives without any discrimination, impartially, with no expectation of reward, and with great love-this giver, I say, totally fulfills the Dharma-sacrifice.” Vimalakirti sutra
"‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’" Matt 25:40
“The Bodhisattva loves all beings as if they were their only child.” Vimalakirti sutra
“The Bodhisattva made his appearance at the fields of sports and in the casinos, but his aim was always to mature those people who were attached to games and gambling. To train living beings, he would appear at crossroads and on street corners. To demonstrate the evils of desire, he even entered the brothels. To establish drunkards in correct mindfulness, he entered all the taverns.”
"The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’" Luke 7:34
“They blame those who remain silent, they blame those who speak much, they blame those who speak in moderation. There is none in the world who is not blamed.” Dhammapada
"The Bodhisattva dwells deep in the sign less, and the non-dual” Vimalakirti sutra
"It is a wicked generation that asks for a sign" Matt 16:4
“Reverend Mahakasyapa, the devils that play the devil in the innumerable universes of
the ten directions are all bodhisattvas dwelling in the inconceivable liberation, who are playing the devil inorder to develop living beings through their skill in liberative technique" Vimalakirti sutra
God said to Satan,” very well, then everything he has is in your hands, But on the man himself do not lay a finger” (Job).

Very educative. I love his videos. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you.

By doing this they gave people opportunity to people to spawn crazy mad theories about Hindus. I knew what to search for and found it.

    Beautiful and neutral works! ❤
Both Buddhism and Christianity are just slightly different approaches to attain the inner and world peace because people are different and learn differently.
Christianity uses God, faith ,and belief while Buddhism uses law of Karma, wisdom, and spiritual transformation. God is simply the personification of Karma and nature.
Having dialogue on the doctrines is good but it will be even greater if we practice based on those doctrines. 🙏 Let’s do it! May Dhamma be in your life. Peace!

Buddhist phrasing and sanskritisms in The New Testament:
    SANCTUS-SCRIPTUM
In James 3:6, " The Wheel of Life", or " Wheel of Birth", Greek "Torchon Geneseos", is the Buddhist " Wheel of Birth", Sanskrit 'Bhava-Cakra".
The Latin rendering has the term "Rota Nativitatis", the "wheel of being born". The K.J. version obscures the original Greek as "course of nature," the R.V. has "the wheel of nature".
James warns against setting this turning wheel on fire and this is exactly what the Buddhists, in their phrasing "all is on fire", with their seemingly contradictory doctrine that all is fundamentaly tranquil, warned against. Metaphysically, the Buddhist frequently used the illustration of a person circling a torch to give the appearance of a real circle, or, "circle of fire": representing the "monkey-mind's" false apprehension of objects illusionary and cinematic nature.
Western references to this Buddhist wheel appear in Persian and Egyptian sources only after the Buddhists converted the Kambojas whose name is littered throughout Cyrus' family. Croesus tells Cyrus of a wheel that turns forbidding anyone from perpetual luck. Plutarch, in his Life of Numa, references an Egyptian wheel symbol known to represent instability or impermanence, precisely how the Buddhists described their wheel. There are no references to this wheel in Egyptian sources until after the archeologist Flinders Petrie unearthed an Indian Buddha at the Memphis Ptah temple.
The Gospel of Luke is addressed to a certain Theophilus (the Alexandrian?), a name that meaning the same as Asoka’s title “Beloved of the Gods” and also of the little known name of a Greek king of Taxila as with the Achaemenid kings. Constantine’s coins say “companion of the Sun,” a phrase which was probably lifted from the followers of Mithras and which is first found in the Buddhist texts (Attica-bandhu, “bound [in friendship] to the sun”).
In Luke 11:34, most modern translations read something like, “The eye is the lamp of the body, when the eye is single your body will be full of light.” Matthew 6:22, 'ophthalmosehaplos', "single eye", Sanskrit 'chittaikogrutaa': single mindedness is inseparable from pre-Christian Buddhism and the Mahayana sutras frequently state that the Buddha emitted innumerable lights from his eyes and body.
" I am the way" (John 14:6), literally " I am The Path" equals the highly attested "Buddhamarga", or "Buddha Path". A well known Zen saying is that "The Buddha is The Path" and parallels the Mahayana call to emulate the bodhisattva path, the living spirit, over the dead letter of the doctrine.
"Until The End of The Aeon"
The Buddhist rabbit of The Rabbit on The Moon fable, which spread to the Americas in ancient times, is said to be put on the moon until the end of the world age. This, like Mahakasyapa in the mountain and the Mahayana monks who vow to be reborn in the final age, is seen as a reward or something desirable in Buddhism, while in Christianity, remaining to the end of the age, or “aeon,” could be viewed as a blessing (Matthew 28:2014), or a curse, such as Jesus’s curse on the poplar tree and his curse on the “Wandering Jew,” who waits for the lord (maranatha) which parallels the legend that Pindola disrespected the Buddha and was sentenced to roam until the end of the age. That the Buddhist monk Pindola is actually a bodhisattva is plain to see; that the wandering Jew, or Kartaphiles, was a Bodhisattva (Greek. Daimons, or, “The Dharmas”15, Druid “Boduchs”16) is seen by his name Joseph, a name which is the title “Bodhisattva
-"Lo, im with you, even until the end of the age (aeon)"- Matthew 28:20.
The Jews only had one age while the Buddhists have innumerable ages (kalpas).
"Whoever blasphemies the Holy Spirit shall be guilty of a sin lasting to the end of the aeon" Mark 3:29
"Whoever causes a schism amongst the Sangha will face the karmic results to the end of the aeon"- Cullavaggo 8:3
The Buddhist scholar, Gregory Schopen, who in the same lecture that he shows Buddha arguing for a separation of church and state, noticed the Buddha, and Buddhists, also tried to cleverly weasel their way out of paying taxes. The so called Persian Imposter Komedes was also said to have suspended taxes.
In the pre-Christian Buddhist monastic code (Vinaya), the Buddha also gives into all the local laws with the exact same phrase, “So that we may not offend them". In Matt 17:25 Jesus tells Peter that he is tax exempt but gives into the tax so that " we may not offend them [tax collectors]"
“What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes-from their own children or from others?”
“From others,” Peter answered. “Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him.
“But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin."
Two examples are when the people of Benares complained about monks chopping down Saka trees (teak: Indian Oak), and when the Buddhists would just leave their dead where they had fallen: in both instances the Buddha gives into local customs so that he is not offensive. Not being offensive was central to early Buddhism and is seen in the illustration of a bee that extracts nectar from the flower without damaging the flower. Also I quote the last words of the Buddha’s chief disciple Sariputra, “If I have offended anyone, may they forgive me.”
Dr. Christian Lindtner has detected many stock Buddhist phrases in the New Testament. A couple of these are:
"The thesis that Q = MSV+SDP must not only be supported by reasons and examples. It must also be possible for scholars who take the trouble to learn Sanskrit and Greek to verify it. There is a nice Sanskrit term for this, namely ehi-pasyi-ka, or ehi-pasya-ka, said of the Buddhist Dharmah. It is an adjective meaning “come (and) see (it for yourself)”. Incidentally, John 1: 46 imitates the sense, the sound and the size of this technical term, when he says: erkhou kai ide, “come and see”."
The Greek term 'autopsy', "seeing {for} yourself", was said to have been used both by Alexandrian doctors and the Therapeutae, the Buddhist Theravadae.
"Mark 6:39-40. No satisfactory explanation for the two Greek expressions symposia symposia, “companies companies”, and prasiai prasiai, “groups groups”, has ever been offered. Both are translations of the frequent samghât samgham pûgât pûgam, “from group to group, from multitude to multitude”, which occurs in the same sense e.g. MPS 26:5" - Dr. Christian Lindtner
John 8:12 Jesus says " I am The Light of this world". The Buddha was frequently called "So Dipa Lokasya", or " The Light of the world", Pali " So Dippo Lokasya". The radical etymon forming "buddha" is 'bho', or " light", Greek 'pho', the popular greeting Buddhists and Brahmins addressed to each other.
In Matthew, Jesus is said to cite a fable of Aesop when referencing a wolf in sheep's clothing (Matt 7:15). One Buddhist jataka has more agreement with Matthew than Aesop as, like Matthew, the wolf is explicitly described as a religious huckster. In JESUS' GODAMA SOURCES I have covered two other Buddhist jatakas quoted by Jesus that are said to reference Aesop's fables but have closer verbal agreement with the Buddhist versions.
Right after the last verse quoted in Matthew, Jesus asks "do you gather grapes from thorns? Figs from thistle?". This is like the reoccurring Buddhist question "can rabbits produce horns": used frequently to convey the ridiculousness of looking for things that conditions wouldn't permit to come into existence. A similar Buddhist line for these people is the accusation that they are like those who "cook sand in hope of getting cooked rice".
One telltale sign that the Christian versions are dependent on the Buddhist versions is that multiple forms of of the Buddhist versions exist within a larger Indian context compared to a single Gospel version.
"A man winnows his neighbor's faults like chaff: his own he hides, as a cheat the trick die from the gambler." -Dhammapada.
"Why do you see the speck in your neighbour’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?" Matt 7:1-5
"Let none find fault with others; let none see the omissions and commissions of others. But let one see one’s own acts, done and undone." - Dhammapada verse 50
Take the pestle from your own eye, and then take the mote from another’s.” -Marathi. “The blind of one eye perceives not the film on her own eye but sees the speck on another’s.” -Hindustani.“The defects in the eyelash are not apparent to the eye.” -Tamil proverb. “They know not their own defects who search for defects in others.” - Sanskrit saying. “The sieve with a thousand holes finds fault with the basket from which the grain is sifted.” -Behar.“ The sieve says to the needle, ‘You have a hole in your tail.’” ―Bengalese.―The Antiquity of Proverbs, p. 263.

Nirvana is a state of mind that realized the wisdom of truth of self liberating from bandages. The wariness of knowing while living is essential of transcending conditional existence.

Buddha means the fully enlightened one, he reached Nibbana/Nirwana so no more rebirth (can check his teachings of Noble 8 Fold Path) but Gods are not fully enlightened beings, that's why they are still in tbe Samsara(rebirth cycle). Furthermore, there aee enough evidence found that Old Testament top 4 stories are copied from Hinduism mythologies a d Jesus stories copied from Buddha. Please ask me for tve the evidence if anyone wants them.
