5 Broken Cameras Official Trailer #1 (2012) - Documentary HD
An extraordinary work of both cinematic and political activism, 5 Broken Cameras is a deeply personal, firsthand account of non-violent resistance in Bil'in, a West Bank village threatened by encroaching Israeli settlements. Shot almost entirely by Palestinian farmer Emad Burnat, who bought his first camera in 2005 to record the birth of his youngest son, the footage was later given to Israeli co-director Guy Davidi to edit. Structured around the violent destruction of each one of Burnat's cameras, the filmmakers' collaboration follows one family's evolution over five years of village turmoil. Burnat watches from behind the lens as olive trees are bulldozed, protests intensify, and lives are lost. "I feel like the camera protects me," he says, "but it's an illusion."

My late father was 14 years old when he left Haifa, his mother was nursing but her milk dried. He got seperated from his family because he had their two cows with him. Their names were (Balah and Shamah). It rained and Balah fell in a ditch filled with water, My father went in the ditch and cried his heart out while trying to get her out, and he couldn't, 50 years later he told me the story, and he cried. This is what I will educate my kids about: MY HISTORY, MY LAND!

@@khalilturjman2010 Actually not true. The Jews of old are not the same Jews that occupy Palestine today. In the past, Jews and Palestinians worked well together as friends. It's when occupation takes and takes and takes and then demands more then gets the idea it's better than everyone and then kills then kills children.....It's not a right, it's a blessing to be in israel but only through honoring God. All people are God's children, Jews, Christians, Muslims. All honor God, Muslims pray more than Jews and Christians combined. (makes me wonder who is really closer to God). When God asks you, how have you prepared the way for my children, he's not singling out one particular religion over another although he did say the Jews are his people, the honor of worshipping God is following his laws for all people, not one set of people over another. zionists haven't figured that out yet and by the way they say "animal" when referring to Palestinians, shows that they don't value life as most other Jews and people of the world do. zionists wear blinders to what could be than to what is. it makes them less of a people. The problem is is that they don't know it and from the looks of it, never will. Free Palestine.

Just finished watching this for school. So sad. It doesn't matter what position you take, it's not okay to treat people the way these people were/are treated. I pray for peace for this land in my lifetime.
(Also the fact that the Israelis were constantly wanting him to stop filming or even covering the camera with their hands shows they know what they are doing is wrong.)

Tales of a freedom sicker, and about a country that deprived of their natural freedom for such a long time. Their dream of total freedom seems lost in a complete maze of Western imperialism and warmongering propaganda. But in this world where poisonous politics reigns; Palestinians have to keep fighting on and keep marching forward against the illegal occupation. A Brave and Spectacular work. Kudos to the filmmaker for such an inspiring work against all the odds, his 5 broken camera will speak against the arms and illegal military occupation. This weapon is more powerful than any other weapon cause it's reveal truth and reality to a mass who never bother about what happening. This will bother them.

First of, I am glad you recognise that Palestinians are the oppressed. That being said, Hamas has, a number of times, tried to makes peace with Israel. Hamas is not the most ideal govt., but at least we need to recognise that Israel is not serious about a two state solution. We blame Hamas for launching rockets, but when they try to make peace, Israel isn't exactly the best state to talk to.

And lets not kid ourselves that after the partition Bengurion's goal was to make Jerusalem the capital and there was already Kibutzim living beyond the partition line the war being set to start from the beginning.

Yet (and yet) Israel feels the need to clampdown and wait for EU aid to sustain their embargo. The amount of power the EU could exert with Israel is vast

What is in the best interest of the people who CONTROL Israel?
Land expansion = cheap land for development and big profit$!
War = less dissent about what the government does
At the end of the day, it boils down to economics and obedience.

Consider the strong links to the EU (recently upgraded two montsh ago), China and S.E Asia (inc major trade deals with Burma).I agree without the unreserved US backing that Israel enjoys they would NOT be so arrogant on the world satge but in economic terms Israel could just about survive - although with a scaled back military.Oh and the US is heavily in debt - so what - they will never pay it back anyway!

More aid than useless Africa? - that is hardly surprising as the US has very little need to waste money on that continent! Read the book "dead aid" - it's a critique by an african journalist about how badly aid has been wasted/mismanaged in the past 60 years.I could also point out the amount of US dollars given to Egypt (the second biggest recipient), along with perhaps the eyewatering amount that is given to both south Korea and Taiwan - but hey they are not Israeli so of no interest to you!

Doesn't this movie show that jewish and palestinians feel the same way as you? a jewish man directed this movie and worked with a palestinian. I don't believe people feel any different from you, and as seen here, the military are the ones causing the pain. Not the smart people, but the military taking orders.

What a way to radicalize a people, whatever radicalization means. Thin line between fighting for your rights and terrorism.
