The watch was made around 1999/2000 to commemorate Michi Kono as the first person from outside of North America to win the Open North American Sled Dog Race. He won in 1998, and is from Sapporo Japan. The race is sponsored, and run by the Alaska Dog Mushers Association, ADMA. The ADMA was approached by Casio who wished to make the commemorative watch to celebrate Michi's achievement. A limited number were made and sold. The ADMA was given a number of these watches to give out. I was a member of the board of directors for the ADMA at the time. I still have my watch, brand new, still in box, never worn. No idea how many total units were made.

hello sir, i'm nizam from malaysia. i have this watch and really love it cause it is my first g-shock and gift from my dad, but the case screw loose now. any idea where can i get the case? i try ebay but can't find it. thank you again for this great video. cheers.
if you have time, you should come to Indonesia and visit some watch shops. I'm from Medan and own the same watch as well. Replaced the battery and now it's working like new. You can ask the shopkeeper here (since Malay is pretty similar to Indonesian) for replacement of casing. Don't let them scare you with price; negotiate as much as possible.
