    Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    What dt series would u recommend for bank fishermen. I'm thinking a dt 6

  • @catchofthedave8681

    I tell you, the best crank is ott's rapala crankbait with the circuit board bill. Much better than the ike's dt's. LOL nah Im just kiddin, it's a good lure, but I still will take a dt6, 8, or 10 all day long. A dt is a confidence bait for me.

    I've wanted a dt 8 for the past 5 yrs. Finally! So much confidence in rapala. BTW try crankin with braid. No line resistance. Maximum depth. U will be amazed how sensitive it is. U feel everything..the slightest tick. U know exactly what the bait is doing... the line becomes a telegraph. U learn to adjust your bite reaction. Only exception for me is in higher water clarity.

      Try throwing a red Cordell lipless.They are the lightest in that category so they won't dig into to deep and can be easily ripped thru shallow grass.Change the hooks .

    Crank baits go deep and stay deep. What goes deep and comes up at the same angle as your line when you’re bank fishing?

    • @ThePerfectComboFishing
      @ThePerfectComboFishing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We love using the Storm Thundercraw from the bank. It has a slower fall than lipless lures. If you are worried about getting caught up, keep the rod tip up and it won't dig in and cost you 10 lures a trip. : ) Crawfish colors are great this time of year as well. It works well in a ton of scenarios. The Thundercraw can really shine over, through, and around grass.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePerfectComboFishing Thanks. New Melones is the only bass lake I can access, and it’s loaded with drowned oaks. If I had a boat, I could supplement my Social Security by following the falling shoreline, looking for lures to repair and sell.

  • @bubbylove75
    @bubbylove75 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think I might be one of the few people with zero confidence in billed crank baits. They just aren’t consistent enough for me to make it a “go to” lure. Now lipless, that’s a whole different story.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To me, it’s those treble hook hanging down, looking for a submerged branch to grab hold of.

    • @bubbylove75
      @bubbylove75 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ricksonora6656Agreed, but it’s not just the snags. I just don’t catch fish with them. If there was a contest to see who brings in the most grass, leaves and muck, the occasional plastic bag or random piece of trash, I’d be the Grand Puba of all time. Best fish I ever caught was when I tail snagged a 2 pound or so channel.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bubbylove75 I caught a nice catfish about 45 years ago. Aside from that, I share your pain. Have you read up on bass seasonal behaviors? Where they go and feed on different times of year? I’m hoping I can turn my luck around. I hope you can, too.

    • @bubbylove75
      @bubbylove75 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ricksonora6656 I’m not big on catfish. My best one was caught while I was float fishing a creek for panfish on a Gulp Minnow. 12 pounder on 4lb test and an ultra light set up. Took me almost 20 minutes to get him in. That was fun.

    • @bubbylove75
      @bubbylove75 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I’ve read up and watched tons of videos on migration patterns, water temp, weather, water quality…. I even read that it’s a good idea to carry a water test kit for salinity because that effects something or other. Sometimes I just shut all that off and just fish.
