I'm an old man now. I well remember "triple deuce" carboration on hot rods when I was young. The explanation of set up near the end of this video is correct. In those days the center carb was usually pretty conservative, and was all that was feeding the engine until the throttle was opened to half way or a little more. The outer two carbs were "toilets" which flushed gas and air, and began their work at that point, flushing in more and more until full throttle.
I had a 1966 Riviera 401 Nail head. So they might’ve finished production of the 401 and 425 in 1964 but they use them for a couple years maybe till inventory I’d run out!

Yeah that was sometime ago when we did that if you look for our later videos the audio is much improved.
