I just wanna thank you for the “please maintain your own locs” video. It gave me the courage I needed to not be scared to wash my starter locs after a week and not wait a month, after I paid someone to do my comb coils ( the lady used to much gel , so itchy, but I can’t part well so I needed someone to start me off lol) now 1 week shy of a month, my hair is build up free, just oil, my parts are still intact, I combined a small loc she parted on my edges and now my hair is getting thick as I wash when I get itchy scalp. I feel free, comfortable and happier for this journey! It feels great to have confidence to do my own locs all I needed was to break thru the fear I was having! It’s so easy to do to!

i started my loc’s journey 1 year ago , I watched a few videos on how to retwist ur own hair , & i did , 1 main reason I chose to do my own is b/c… it’s my Crown , it’s my covering , some people carry negative energy , some people have a lot going on in their lives , and i believe in transfer of energy, spirits and etc …. so i chose to protect my crown …. and i speak blessing and growth and manifestation over my crown when i retwist ….

nah your hair has definitely grew. Its great that you decided to document your loc journey; because most times we can’t tell that our hair is growing- but people on the outside lookin in (us) can definitely notice a difference. You will too eventually ☺️❤️ take care.

They came out very nice! Your locs are similar to mine, not too big but not small. At first I didn’t like mine much because every other loc video I see, the person has lots and lots of locs and they have small ones and do fun or cool colors and styles, but little by little I’m finding more videos like yours, with locs like mine (yours are super gorgeous btw). I just started my locs in 11/2020. I can’t wait until they are longer and I can put some color on them!
Me too! I have 42 starter locs & everyone else has around 60-70. I was self conscious at first but I’m now loving it!
Same here! I was slightly self conscious about my number of locs as well. I’m almost a year in and started interlocking my comb coils (they look super mature now) and now I’m really in love lol
I am so happy that I found this channel, my locs looks just like that never did any styles since my loc journey. I wash and just shake I do mostly Aloe and Hibiscus . I shampoo every 4wks, I am loving your content and want to learn how to style my own hair,and do my first palm role.
perfect timing!! i'm doing my second retwist right now. i'll be a month tomorrow/the next day (took me two days to install hahah) and i was a bit worried about if i was retwisting too often but like i have to watch my hair and after watching it's impossible to not retwist unless i'm trying to go to the free form route which i'm not haha. can't wait until i can go without retwisting so often but until then i have patience. 😇🤍
(besides i 100% prefer retwisting to f*cking detangling whew )

I retwisted my locs for the first time today....God my arms are killing me. I used Jamaican coconut castor oil with shea butter to retwist.. They 1 year 8months old. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Love from Kenya ❤️

Literally so thankful for you cause it has been 4 months and I have no idea what I am doing. I haven't washed my hair since Feburary and it is so itchy. My loc lady uses too much gel and my scalp is gasping for air. I will definitely use this,, Thank you°°

They are flourishing and beautiful. When I had locs I would re twist every three months. Try that and you will see a difference

Decided to do it during the Pandemic 6 months ago so I didn't have to go to the barbershop (my pic is from 2015..lol) I was previously wearing a short side fade cut. I had someone start with coils & I've been doing my own. It's rough starting with them short ☺

Will retwisting starter locs every 2 weeks affect the thickness of your locs in the long run?
If you continue. That’s why I only recommend it in the starter loc stage, as your Locs are forming and unraveling constantly.

Loved the video! I’m so nervous about retwisting my entire head. I do have a quick question, when you have your retwist in and need to run errands how do you style your hair? Do you just wrap it?
I leave the clips in and go lol you never want to wrap wet hair so, unfortunately that’s how I’ll be looking 😂
