    I love your programs, I started using yours from last year and modified it into my own. That's my favorite part of the N-EXT products is how it's fool proof and you can modify based on what you need. I used the Microgreene for a 'blackout' app at 16oz per 1k in June when the heat was doing a number on my lawn and it really helped it a ton. I went heavier on RGS and Humic in bare areas and the runners are really moving in my Bermuda and covered all my bare spots. I still use Lawn Restore and Milo but I'm thinking next year I can cut those apps back or in half now that my soil is in better shape.

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly correct brother! Make the program fit your lawn and situation! it make a lot more sense! not just be given a 4 step program that’s a cookie mold, but rather the ingredients to make what ever cookie you want! how did it turn out offer the season?

    Any tips or tricks to grow grass under a trampoline?

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tom Brown I am guessing that with the way you asked this, the trampoline doesn’t move around? If it does, move it just far enough at mowing time that it’s not shading the previous area, then next mowing you can move it again.
      If movement isn’t an option, I would get a heavy shade mix of seed and sew it in.
      Watering can be a trick under trampolines... how’s the water coverage.
      *Last trick, a lot of people around me have dug their trampolines in the ground. They have minimal issues now. (Watertable can cause issues here 😳)

      Techinically, it’s safe right after application, but I always recomend any products they are liquid to be dry. I like to be safe with little ones and our Pets!
      Air8 is fine to be used when ever you feel afterwards. No specific timeframe needed.
      I like Air8 personally around 70 degrees. I feel it gives the grass roots the spike they need for a good growth period. Because I am targeting the root growth, I really love RGS with it.

Know it dropped some from the cheap pH, moisture and light meter I have. Know its going in the right direction. Using an organic fert with 14% sulfur which equates to 2.8 lbs/1000 as I did last season. What effect has your sulfur amendment done for your pH? Over one season I am expecting a .2 drop from the soil test. Hesitant to add a full 50 lbs over my front yard's 3500 sq/ft.

    Great Video J! Up in Davis County, I de-thatched yesterday with a Stihl Yard Boss for the first time ever with a machine. It worked great, although I was leary of spending too much time in any given spot. I could/should have spent 4-5 times longer per area, really getting the dead stuff out.
    I am running a similar program to yours. I am going to use a synthetic N slow release in late June, but at 1/2 the application rate. Then again in Late August. I have never over-seeded but might this September or Oct. I will also do a 2nd application of Pre-emergent in late May. I use green punch and micro green interchangeably.
    Question: Which of the N-Ext products do you water in? I usually don't put any water on my turf until Mother's day or later. I apply the products without watering them in. The lawn shows a little stress, but I find the roots grow deeper searching for water if I don't water until then.

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Hunky MrB much appreciateion! Solid regimen you got planned out there!
      First, ❤️ ur stressing the roots to search for water ❤️❤️! Well done, I was on 1 time a week watering most of last year and only changed it to two times a week when it got closer to fall as I was losing secondary water and I wanted the moisture deeper using the 1.25” of water. Smart move for sure!
      I like the air 8 watered in, as it has a soil component (quickly). I usually recomend 2-3 days all products to be watered in... but you can use Mother Nature to do that piece too. Are ya going to cause harm, naw, it’s just going to have a slower soil/root /microbes reaction time. I wouldn’t change what your doing.

      +Brothers 4 Life here is the cup I use, you can see it in this video
      th-cam.com/video/z8Vb1MArSFg/w-d-xo.htmlm15s
      But honestly any will do, I use this one cause it holds 64 oz so I can get quite a bit on a heavy dose.
      Remember when mixing these products add water to the tank first, if using a sprayer, as it mixes better as it’s in water! In a ortho, u just add it straight... or can cut it if you like!

    Hey a few questions. Is this considered a low nitrogen plan and why aren’t you applying Pre M in the fall?

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Manny Chava Hey Manny, yes this is a low nitrogen plan. Nitrogen on this plan will be:
      2 X .5 = 1lb for the year
      3 X .5 = 1.5lb for the year
      2 X .8 = 1.6lb for the year
      3 X .8 = 2.4lb for the year
      These totals are well below the traditional 3-6 lbs per 1000 sqft that pro companies traditionally throw down for the season. It’s focused on feeding what the soil needs to correct it. Reason the soil test is so important.
      Couple reasons I didn’t mention pre in the fall, I never have... not that it’s bad or wrong, I just never have and and personally I feel the coverage in Utah is pretty solid, with a good solid app (meaning using the proper amount of pre to get enough months of coverage). I didn’t make this as an advanced plan, I kept it simple, but kept it open for changes. This is an advanced technique, that is solid! Lastly, I want to push my lawn towards being a thick, lush piece of turf, that prevents weeds it’s self, through proper nutrition and maintenance (personal goal).

      The Greener Lawn
      Thanks for all the info . What fertilizer are you using this season? I really wanted Carbon x but not sure when it’ll be available.

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am going to use 1801 for most of my nitrogen needs, I am banking on X for my winterizer this fall.
      Looks like you want granular, look at:
      HyR Brix : hyrbrix.com/product/lawnfertilizer/
      Milo
      Ringer Lawn Restore
      Or even
      A synthetic product like Scott’s and just add humic and micros (if you want X I’m guessing you have other N-Ext products) to the mix to help the soil too...

    do you apply Air8 and RGS as one app?

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Art Tully Yes, for sure! The combination of the Air8 opening up the ground and the RGS stimulating the roots, gives better color, health, root systems.... this is my favorite lawn hit!

    What is your grass type?

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Danny Powers I have Kentucky Blue Grass, but this plan would work for cool and warm season turfs alike. That’s where the reading the grass is huge!

    Hey Jeremy ... your soil test results look similar. Just got my Spectrum Analytics results in ... pH went from 7.9 to 7.7 now. Ordered my elemental sulfur last week and will apply 5#/1000sf in a few days when it arrives. Was hoping to throw down the CarbonX with my prodiamine but looks perhaps like HyrBrix lawn fertilizer as they’re only about 15 min away. Keep up the nice work!

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Milan Jurich that was the time between the two tests? HyrBrix is what Pete likes and used in his GCI turf academy. So he got solid results, you should like it!
      Thanks as always Milan, I can’t wait to see your yard in full swing!

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mxson Gaming 💯 on the Carbon X, when u come up with something new, there is a growing period!
      Slow process, but I saw your lawn last year and it sure looked on point for sure! It’s not as bad off as one would of thought, with your results! Did you get a powdered sulfur or granular? Powder is best!
      So with johns teachings, as our ph comes down, there is phos that will release. With that release, I bet it comes in line w/o Specific added app of phos. That is one reason he doesn’t run phos in his products because of this release.

      Will likely change the initial fertilizer from HyrBrix to a starter Fert since I am also low in P & medium in K. Elemental Sulfur to support lowering the pH and application of Starter Fert to increase the Phos.

    • @milanjurich1526
      @milanjurich1526 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Greener Lawn interesting ... if that’s the case then I won’t need Starter Fert. Hoping John is reading. Busy guy though. pH 7.7, CEC 18.3, P 14, K 134, Ca 5343, Mg 383, S 42, Fe 177

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Milan Jurich I’m thinking you would be fine with a nitrogen only app, but honestly K is going to take time to
      Unlock, so one app of starter fert isn’t going to hurt...

    I like the way your thinking, I'm staying away from the cults like super juice , Milo crap.

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Dennis Page My thought process is to feed the soil, and make sure we don’t put stuff in that’s not needed. I chose not to incorporate Milo into my program this year because of the phos and I’m super high in phos.... so I don’t need it this year, good for others that need phos and nitrogen.. but doesn’t fit my bill. Thx Dennis!

    Grubs will kill that lawn

    • @TheGreenerLawn
      @TheGreenerLawn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stop My Time could... but last year I was doing a repair on a broken sprinkler head and saw a grub.... never treated for them, but never saw any damage either.... s strong lawn resists issues and damage. 👍🏻 a good grub app at the right time (around May timeframe) goes along way to prevent this!
