God bless all TH-camrs who take your time to make these World Class tutorials. Thanks David, this has finally given me the confidence to make the adjustment on my Ford 2725e in my 1983 Dutch Gruno trawler here in Sweden.
Hi David, thanks for this. Those diagrams shown at the start of your video are excellent - really helped my understanding how it all works. This is our first ever boat. She has a 120 Ford Lehman 2704ET. She blows a bit of blue smoke on start up. Bit of research suggests the valve seals may need replacing, which will be my first job ( hopefully it’s not the rings,) but I’m guessing I would then need to check the adjustment on the valves afterwards?. Interested to know where I could buy a copy of the diagrams at the very beginning of your video ? Thanks ( British boater, so buying from American Diesels is a no go 😢!)
@@debcrook9086 For two of the three diagrams I have the books that they were taken from at home and could send them to you via email if you would give me your email address. (The first one is of the four strokes of a four-cycle diesel engine, and the third one is a diagram of the pushrod.) The second diagram, the exploded view of the engine, was taken from the Lehman owners manual which is at our boat. I can bring that home the next time I’m at the boat and then send it to you. BTW, we love England!
Thank you David. I will give it a shot. I have an SP135 and it seems that the valve clearance can be adjusted on a cold engine for the SP135. Will just double check that. Thanks again for a great video!
You don’t use a screwdriver because there is no screw. It’s a very high tension nut that you turn with the box-end wrench. Take a look at the video at 13:59 and you’ll see the wrench on the adjusting nut. Good luck!
Are you using a 3” extension on your socket? Would that help with the problem you are having? Take a look at about 9 minutes into my video where I discuss using an extension on your socket. Good luck!
The best one I have seen on this topic. I will be doing for first time. VERY Helpful
Glad it was helpful! You’ll do fine.
Agreed. I've been waiting for someone to produce a video of this process in detail. Planned to record my own but haven't had time. Thanks, David

Bjorn, I’m so glad it helped!
Wow! Excellent tutorial. Thanks,

@@davidvonwolffersdorff2385 Hi David , thanks so much for this. Where can I email you?

Thanks David for an excellent video. A minor question, what contact cement do you use here?
Martin, it’s Weldwood brand. But any brand will work. Good luck. It’s an easy job as long as you work slowly and carefully.

How did you adjust the gap with the spanner? I noticed there was no screw that i could see to turn with a screwdriver that i could see on the video

How did you get the socket onto the headbolts on the injector side of the engine?

@@davidvonwolffersdorff2385 you don't actually show torquing the head bolts, just the extension and the socket
