At last i travelled diff part of japan recently such beautiful country .with God grace we experienced Autumn trees ,Christmas decorations everywhere too beautiful. TY for your informative videos it helped a lot.
I remember last year when you were thanking people for 1.5k subscribers, I was preparing for my trip in March and was happy for you. Glad your channel has grown. Can't wait to come back to Japan in two years with my girlfriend this time. I also recommend people visit Koyasan as a day trip from Osaka, it really is a beautiful place.
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment Nikola san! I actually watched that video before I film this. I remember your comment too from that video as I thought nobody except me paid attention to the number. :) That sounds amazing that you are visiting here again with your girlfriend. Yes, Koyasan is great. My memory of staying at Ekoin temple almost 10 years ago is too amazing and I'm a bit afraid of going back now, but I agree it's definitely a must visit place. I'm sure I will introduce in this channel someday. Thank you again.
Aloha Kenchan! Arigato for all of your recommendations for our first trip to Japan last week. Used your discount code at Ninja Wi-Fi. Worked great. Purchased our Pasmo cards too since we were only in Tokyo for a week. Saw all the wonderful places that you pointed out in your videos. The only issue we had was with Google maps. Didn’t work so well but luckily when we asked people on the street for help, they were so kind to point us in the right direction. Your channel is super! 👋😀
Thank you again! I heard from another traveler that Google map didn't work right in Tokyo, so I wonder if that is because of Pocket WiFI? I need to investigate about that. I'm glad your trip went well overall. I'd like to use the fund to make further videos. Thank you.
Wow, Thank you so much for such a big support Ryuga san! I can’t appreciate enough you always pay attention to my updates and leave messages. I hope you have a great holiday season. Thank you again!
Thanks Kenchan for sharing the information! I would like to ask you about if I take flight or bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo which way is better? I would like to hear your advice. Thanks
Hello. Shinkansen is much easier as you can take it from Osaka city center. If you fly, I recommend you to fly from Osaka airport (ITM) to Tokyo HND. @tinale9458
I would like ( if you were interested of course ) you to make a video about Noh theatre and Kabuki , I am very interested in japanese performing arts and any aspect of your traditional culture ( especially arts, music ...) , congratulations , greettings from Valencia, Spain.
I'm going back to Japan 3rd week of December and will be spending Christmas and New Year there. I can't wait. It's my first time celebrating these holidays differently ever since I was a kid.
Another terrific update Kengo san. We arrive in Tokyo in 3 weeks time. Have our shinkansen tickets reserved for Kanazawa on New Years Day and then back to IIyama, and looking forward to ringing in the new year at Senso-ji! Hoping there might be an izakaya open on Hoppy Dori beforehand. Arigatou gozaimashita!
Asakusa is probably the best place to be for the New Year's Eve to New Years Day. I'm sure they are all open. 🍻Thank you for watching and your comment Richard san!
Kevin san, Dale san, thank you so much for your support! I'm very surprised and pleased you noticed the membership and joined. It's very encouraging, and I'd like to use these funds to make more useful videos as I'm going to make videos non-stop next year and fill my library. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season Kevin san Dale san. :)
The membership is the easiest way to give you continuous support because we find your updates and location specific videos very helpful. Your videos on Kyoto helped make our visit there much better and now we are studying your Tokyo videos to plan our trip next May. We hope more people will discover your channel and benefit from it
Kengo, beautiful to see the holiday in Japan! Guess what? We just got our tickets to travel to Japan again in April, staying >3 weeks this time! Wish you and your doggie a happy new year and Christmas.
I wish I could spend Christmas in Tokyo 1 day. Lights are bright already in Tokyo but the added Christmas decors made it more enticing!! But what it makes honto sughoi is @ 2:00 @ 2:59 and @ 19:38 when Kengo san wears Santa 🙃
Tokyo's winter illumination is the best. I love just strolling in Roppongi and Akasaka after dark between Christmas and early January even if it's very cold. The nice thing is December is dry and sunny most of the time. I looove walking past stores in the season, almost every one of them play Mariah Carey or KinKi's Cinderella Christmas 😂. Altho I think Japan's KFC is a bit aji ga usui compared to Indonesia, I try to eat some when Im there in December. My fav jinja for Hatsumode is Toyokawa Inari ❤ but hatsuhinode is usually in Osaka after watching oshogatsu live concert with my friends 😂 I bring lots of Kairo and drink lots of warm sake hehehe.. It's sad I can't go this year-end because of work.. Maybe, hopefully 2023-2024. Last was 2020 new year and I got a daikichi, hoping for a great year. I guess that didnt happen right 🤭 Aah this is becoming a very long comment! Gomen gomen. Thanks for the video as always Ken-san. I hope you post a birthday video ✌️
Thank you for watching and your comment. You are right, December to January is always good weather. Toyokawa inari! Known for... same as Tokyo Daijingu in Iidabashi. :) Deep choice. That's interesting KFC here has lighter taste, but I can imagine. haha. I'm not sure what to talk about for my birthday. I hope you have a happy holiday season!🎊
Hello Kengo San, this was perfectly timed update for us as we were in Tokyo at this time and we think we were also out the front of Tokyo Station the same evening you were filming, we missed seeing you though ): The Christmas displays were fantastic!
Hello Matt san! I'm glad to hear you and your family are back safe to Australia from your Japan trip. Oh wow! It could be amazing if we rain into on the street as I was walking with camera. :) I hope you enjoyed the time here overall. Japan must have changed a lot since your last visit. Thank you alway for watching my videos for your preparation!
The streets are so beautiful. Thank you for the update, When will the Christmas lights usually be taken down? We are visiting on Jan 6th. Hopefully not yet.
Thank you for watching. Great question! Some lights in Shibuya, Omotesando will be donw. But the one in the last around Tokyo station will stay until February. So you can still enjoy in some places. :)
@Tokyo Kenchan you may want to let your subscribers know about the new 1-day Kyun Pass which can be used on Shinkansen on dates between 14 Feb and 14 Mar 2024 by JREast 😊
I'm thinking of using it, so I'd like to talk about it on February update. Thank you! :) I just want to make sure it will be sold on English site as they will sell this only at Ekinet. Some discount fare I see in Japan site is not available in English version so I'm wondering.
Thank you so much for this video! It really helped me to know how the holidsy season is in Japan, also appreciate the videos of each area! I am arriving in Tokyo on Dec 22th (Staying at Akihabara and then move around) and will stay there until Jan 8th. I'd love to go to a place to eat Soba during new years eve and then watch the countdown. However im having a hard time finding a place that's not completely booked, including several Hotels/Towers dinner courses and some countdown events. What would you recommend for us to do? Im glad that you mentioned that there will be trains too during the night. Thank you so much again!!
Thank you for another informative video, Ken-san! Planning to go to Enosha for Hatsuhinode and I based most of my plans on your Kamakura-Enoshima video. I am super excited! 🥰 Hope you have a wonderful holiday break!
@@tokyokenchanthank you so much, Ken-san! I was also wondering if the trains in Kamakura-Enoshima will also be operating very early for hatsuhinode, because I am staying about an hr away by train from the beach itself. Or perhaps I should just stay around the beach area and stay until early morning at the beach? Would appreciate some helpful tips on this! Thank you!
It seems Enoden (Enoshima-Kamakura) doesn't operate after midnight until 1/1 morning. Yokosuka line to Kamakura runs some trains after midnight, and for Odakyu from Shinjuku to Enoshima, they run special Romance car 4:50 Shinjuku arriving Enoshima 6:13. It will be warmer than usual year they say, but still cold so stay warm and enjoy! @@margarettobanana

I’m sending my son to see his brother in the Air Force for Christmas and we’re starting to plan the trip. Thank you for letting us know about the Shinkansen and house stores may be closed. Did you say there are not fireworks and celebration on New Year’s Eve? How about in Sapporo?
@@tokyokenchanthanks for the information. Will i face a problem in getting the bullet train due to the new year rush? I already have a JR pass which I will exchange at the office but my concern was if i don’t get a seat due to the rush.
We won’t get to Tokyo until 12/16 to exchange our jr pass and planning to reserve seats from Tokyo ti Osaka on 12/24 and return 12/29. Do you know it will be full?
I'm interested to visit gala yuzawa. Does it make sense to stay in tokyo ueno and do multiple daily trips to gala yuzawa? Instead of booking accommodation in yuzawa.
Yes, if you get JR Tokyo Wide Pass, you can visit Gala Yuzawa for 3 days for 15,000 yen. It doesn't take long so it might be a good idea to keep your other luggage in Ueno.
