I definitely can relate. It just keeps coming. I keep my sanity with prayer and listening to Fr. Mike . I try to remember the Lord's mercies are new everyday. Peace.

@@nellennatea The people on your prayer list need your prayers more than you could ever imagine. Life is sometimes so hard, but God's grace is enough to see us through if only we hang on. I use to see you on CIY, but you must be doing that on the phone app. When you read the comments on the CIY podcast not the app you get to know so many of the people. When CIY ends I will loss all my friends, and when BIY ends you will disappear also. Reading all the comments on CIY, it seems everyone has some sort of heartache or trouble. How is your son doing? When my mother was dying with dementia and I had no one to help I was in despair. Friends not only turned their backs on me but some betrayed me. It passed this way for more than one season. My mother's mind fractured and dissolved day by day. Often she would lash out in anger and I would return the sentiment. I cried out to God for mercy, yet the pain continued. Still I held hope. It broke my mind yet I still saw the love of Christ in our lives. Finally it was to a point where she was losing the ability to walk. I no longer could handle things on my own. I cried out to God once more asking desperately for help, for any type of relief. At the very last moment through a miracle I found a nurse available to help. Weeks later after being rejected twice before hospice accepted her to help with in home care. Jesus is real. He cares and saves. We just need to have faith and turn our all over to him. I share this story for someone watching this video needs to hear it. Like Jeremiah, your life is in turmoil. You feel the pain and bitterness I also felt. There is another way. God is using this moment to reach out to you. You are loved. He has not forgotten.

I watched my father slowly die from Alztheimer Disease. A horrible death, probably more difficult for the categiver. I just got through praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet with him and he passed.
Day 256 - Thursday September 12th, 2024. Today’s readings are Jeremiah 51, Lamentations 4-5, and Proverbs 18:9-12. Thank you so much Father Mike Schmitz and Ascension Press / Presents for the gift of the Bible in a year podcast. Deo gratias. I really know suffering first hand. I have been through true hardship of all types. I remember vividly in March of 1997 I had to eat eggs and corn tortillas for 3 straight days because I was a single mom with a 2 year old daughter and a 5 months old son so, I had to feed my 2 kids before feeding myself. And, so ,so many stories about my life over the years but I never complained, I never allow my heart to become bitter or full of hate or seek revenge or anything. I just asked God to give me the strength to keep living and I took it one day at a time ( I still taken it one day at a time but now I am doing way, way better than before. Thanks be to God ). When I felt overwhelmed I just reminded myself that Jesus Christ died for me in the cross and He carried the cross and He did not commit the sins I have committed and I kept it rolling. Now, it is 2024 and I am on the other side of the pond where looking back I realized that I am so, so, very thankful for all the good, the bad, and the ugly because I see life and God in a different way / perspective and I know that if I did not go through what I went through it would be a different story. Lord God thank You. O Lord God, please, please, please forgive my sins, especially those that I did not know that they were deadly sins which I thought they were just part of life. Deo gratias.

When things get bad for me i don't accept it gracefully. I waste a lot of sufferings that can be offered up, I know this and I have asked God, no matter what I say, don't let go.
I remember the day I turned back to God. I left him in my youth and started practicing witchcraft. In time I became a nihilist without hope. I remember begging, crying, because I was so broken I knew I couldnt do it anymore. I called him. I surrendered. And he came. He saved me from the darkness that was consuming me, regardless of my betrayal. My endless betrayals. I want to live my life for him. I want to end my life for him. He is everything and the breath in my body. He was faithful when I wasnt. I cant repay him for everything he has blessed me with, and yet still, I bring darkness to the light that he has given me. Why. I pray I continue to cling to the light. To hope. He is my hope. I love him so much. I hope someday I can leave the darkness behind.
“Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

Suffering does change people. I never really connected that idea. The person who would respond to a homeless beggar with 'get a job' and he himself then loses his job would not respond that way ever again, unless of course they are just crazy evil, that happens too. Many people eventually in their lives will at some point say, 'i understand now what you have been going thru' because now i am going thru it. In my own life, I know if i see tragedy, I ask God, please don't let that happen to me, I know they are no worse than I.

Loved the bit about choosing what I'd never want to do - done that and it hurts. Still trying to forgive myself even though God has. I'll get there but it's good to feel the weight of your sins sometimes. Otherwise how can I be truly penitent?
It’s true that’s a friend can bring that humility and us and make us more compassionate people but I think it also turned us into people we can’t even recognize him and brings out evil that we would ever expect. Thank you father Mike!

Suffering does change people. I never really connected that idea. The person who would respond to a homeless beggar with 'get a job' and he himself then loses his job would not respond that way ever again, unless of course they are just crazy evil, that happens too. Many people eventually in their lives will at some point say, 'i understand now what you have been going thru' because now i am going thru it. In my own life, I know if i see tragedy, I ask God, please don't let that happen to me, I know they are no worse than I.

I think that right now, we too know there are hungry children. Are we help feeding them through charities like Samaritan’s Purse or are we turning away? I am guilty. His forgive me.
