*Adam, if your trans fluid gets over 212°F it's service life is halved for every minute at that temperature. Monitor your fluid temps and avoid operating outside of 100-150°F. If you already cooked your fluid and I'm sure you have, i strongly recommend flushing it with OEM fluid. Keep it cool bröther*

The no M/T or DCT, with the exhaust note on the factory cars, with the boost dump on shifts, and the auto up-shift on limiter even in 'manual' just didn't do it for me. If I had all the money sure, but for me personally I don't see it as worth the money plus another 10+ of mods on top. Would be neat though..

You are exactly correct in thinking you’re burning up the clutches like a manual transmission when it slips like that. Anything over 200° is bad over to 20 you’re destroying everything if held for long periods. The more you slip the more you’re wearing those clutches out. More pressure is better, keeping it cool is good, You should be able to do quite a bit with the programming.
I like how Adam's original thought about the MKV, IMO, was "this car's gonna be a joke" and now that he's built one it's one of the greatest redesigns ever. I'd love to have my dad ride with Adam in this car to see what "Japanese" cars are capable of. He loves the mustang. I mean so do I but I would, 90% of the time, lean towards Japanese
Adam, having a MK6 Golf R, tuning the transmission is a must when pushing more power, get that TCU tuned to ask for more clamping force and itll stop the clutch slipping
@adamlz the trans is the same thing as a Vw dsg or pdk in the Porsche’s . They’re manual transmissions with a dual clutch pack as your “converter” Although a tune will provide the tcm the go ahead to add more pressure to the clutch disks. The disks are only rated for some much power as they’re small and get put through alot of torque.. especially in the higher gears. Only way it’ll hold that amount of power reliably without dropping out clutches everyone 3 months would be to upgrade the clutch bucket.
