    When you release the arrow, it should bend around the riser and pass without any part of the arrow contacting any part of the bow. This is called ‘clearance’. If the arrow contacts the bow this is an issue and it can cause very erratic grouping and strange tuning results.
    In a previous video I looked at ways of checking if you suffer from bad arrow clearance. In this video I show you how to fix bad clearance.
    Enjoy, and thanks for watching!

    Hi Ashe. Sometimes, when the vanes touch the riser, just turning a litle the nock, solve the problem. Thank you and keep going

    Hi Ashe,
    After checking nock and alinement then +\- on the poundage a visit to Wales Archery showed that the spine on the arrow I had been shooting with older limbs to new limbs with the poundage had caused the tune to change by a spine.
    Issue now rectified 😊

    Lots of good points there. Do we need the background music though?

    Great info, thank you! Can brace height also affect clearance?

    • @mikebyford5258

      great q exactly mine too - I use border limbs which have 6.5-7" brace and I believe they create clearance issues .. can this be reduced by using the front button hole Ashe?

    • @OnlineArcheryAcademy
      @OnlineArcheryAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can do, but by a minor amount. I've tested it with a high speed camera and even a large difference on brace height had a minute impact on clearance. Hope that helps :)

    • @OnlineArcheryAcademy
      @OnlineArcheryAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In theory yes, but also very minor - the main things to work with would be poundage, arrow spine and arrow length :)

    • @mikebyford5258
      @mikebyford5258 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OnlineArcheryAcademy I second that based on physical trials ..for usual limbs - don't have a HS camera :( but I think with the border hex because BH is 6 3/4 " then the string staying in the nock longer may influence the clearance because of deflection at the release. The spine is correct according to NF charts , arrow length may be a factor and I am also going to try using the from hole for the button the see if this helps. Will report back once the weather improves.

    Quick question: Should spine (dynamic) testing (also with bare shaft) be done with plunger stiffened (locked in place)?

    Is it possible for the arrow to hit the plunger/arrow rest cuz I have some clearance issues bcuz my spin wings tear very often and I notice the plunger button have some scratches how can I fix this issue?

    • @OnlineArcheryAcademy
      @OnlineArcheryAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is - I would check the arrow spine/length/poundage combination first and go from there :)

    My problem is the "string touching the chest" because of chestmuscles. my poisture is straight, i am breathing out to have chest down. but otherwise the triangle Back-ellbow-wrist has to be tight. i don´t really have any idea how to fix that.

    • @OnlineArcheryAcademy
      @OnlineArcheryAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Roman, good point! I would check the alignment of the bow and draw shoulders :) If the bow shoulder alignment is out of line, it can commonly cause the string to be quite close to the chest as you describe. I would check this by aiming into a mirror and looking at your alignment, or using an overhead camera. There's a video coming next week with specific drills you can do using a band and a mirror for each part of your shot, the setup and full draw drills in this video might help out for you :)
