- Propagation predictions and figures are really dropping , therefore from Brunei the Propagation remains good for long distance contacts.
This morning many bands were open to USA and South America and had decided to stick on 15m. Like last night the pile up was significant and it was a great test using the FT-710 in a busy frequency since this is a simple direct sampling transceiver , complex signals maybe tricky to extract especially for a 14-bit only transceiver.
The FT-710 as a SDR is great filter adjusments which is a great (really helpful especially during pile up).
This morning and last night pile-up were a good test and needless to say the FT-710 is able to cope with complex signals without providing any clipping or intermodulation.
I was using a Hexbeam antenna , Berhinger Headset and SB-200 Heathkit amplifier. I am not using the VOX and instead i am using a foot switch using a homebrew cable for the headset and foot switch.
So far so good a great tiny transceiver which will company me for the next few years

Thanks for the video. I've been thinking about purchasing the FT-710. Looks like it works great for contests! 73 de WA3RSL
@@frankENZC it is a nice tiny TRX . Like it and use it mostly for CW since it has nice DSP filters. It really worth the cost .
I hear a click you must be running an amp to bust though the weak signals and pile ups if 100 watts wouldn’t cut it or you got a stacked array.
During this session i think i was using my heathkit SB-200 or my homebrew amplifier with about 250w for the homebrew and up to 400w with the heathkit amplifier . The click you hear is both the amplifier relay and the foot switch which is also very noisy .
