I think the rise of Football Twitter played a huge part. post-2000 born Liverpool, Chelsea & even Man Utd fans have experienced their teams winning the league or the CL while Arsenal fans have never. I remember one person coining it as "they have the audacity of Real Madrid but are closer to Blackburn". I also think the rise of AFTV added a lot of fuel to the fire. It's often the go-to example when people point towards delusional Arsenal fans.
As a liverpool fan born in 2004, I grew up and started watching Liverpool in 2011, I never got to see my team win much more than the Carling Cup. When klopp took over I was so greatful and hopeful. These arsenal fans on the other hand last season were claiming to be the best club in the world. The pure arrogance from most arsenal fans I have seen is unbelievable honestly. I'm sure most of them are normal, a very large portion of them are utterly the worst when it comes to biting your ear off
It’s also the fans from my experience will talk poorly about almost every other teams and their players but when it comes back they get super defensive and resort to name calling or “InViNcIBle”
@@banoffiman2211 oh yeah and the Scousers are all 100% rational, say what happened to the Liverpool fans with pfps of Darwin Nunez holding the Balon D'Or where's the agent of chaous now?, what happened to the booked tickets for the Europa League final in Dublin? and what happened to Klopps departure lighting a fire inside of the players that will inspire them to win the quadruple?
As an Arsenal fan, its our fanbase which made everyone else mock us when we finished second. Our most deluded and annoying fans are also the loudest and they kind of "represent" our fanbase on the internet and when those "fans" say some strange things its expected that they are going to be laughed at and mocked. We (normal fans) then end up being a collateral victims of other clubs fanbases. But to be fair, its all just a huge banter, and Im fine with that. Its all part of football, we would probably mock other fanbases if they were in our position.
If you judge Arsenal for their fanbase, then you are stupid. Also people should learn to take deluded fans as a joke and not a label an entire fanbase after some bad apples. How can you get mad over some arsenal fan saying his opinion or being excited. And why do people get so emotionally invested in this game to the point of hating fanbases and clubs for no particular reason
fully agree it’s the same w spurs fans on socials especially that invertthewing idiot on twitter. somehow one tweet from one of these idiots means “all fans of spurs really thought kulusevski is the best winger itl” or “arsenal fans really thought city would lose to west ham” cos one random on aftv said it
As a Liverpool fan I remember the amount of relentless brutal hate we got when we were the club trying to beat Man City. And now the same is happening to Arsenal. They don’t have a bad fanbase 99% of them are normal football fans who big shocker want their team to win trophies and say audacious things. Every fanbase has a fraction of toxic deluded fans
@@Nooberio24 yeah man I get how arsenal fans feel. Somehow Liverpool and Arsenal are the bad guys despite Man City literally being the cheating scumbags it’s hilarious
The main problem is that you have poorly run social media channels such as AFTV that misrepresent the entire fanbase. Not only that but rival fans tend to always, and i mean ALWAYS, treat every single arsenal fan in the world as if they're the same as the delusional fans you see on AFTV or Lee Gunner for example.
And what if he is deluded? He is a fan, that's important. Every fan is a little deluded. They hate Arsenal, because AFTV was the first to start this sort of channel and it's the most popular football fan channel of all, so of course there would be some crazy people, but that makes it interesting
You booed Wenger and regularly booed in the stadium when things weren't going your way, match day going fans and twitter fans have acted NO DIFFERENTLY to social media personalities.
Yeah but who is giving them a Platform? All the subscribers? If Arsenal fans support theit channel, then its normal that people think that they speak for Arsenal Fans.
Pls, tell me what it is about AFTV Everyone keeps saying AFTV, then nothing underneath that. I'm a Gooner, I watch AFTV. I don't know what you guys are referring to everytime you write "AFTV"
I feel like a lot of it comes from the fact that Arsenal fans were the punching bag for other fans for many years, and now the other teams fans are terrified that years of bullying is gonna come back to bite them. I dont follow the premier league that much, but I find it strange that english fans sometimes seem more invested in hating other teams instead of just loving their own club...it must be exhausting.
It's exactly that. Arsenal's decline happened as social media was starting to become part of everyone's lives so it was bad timing along with Chelsea's and Man City's rise which made Arsenal a banter club on the pitch as we're craving for the glory days to return. Now those same abusers or haters are gutted that Arsenal are on the way up and I can't wait til we eventually win the premier league because rival fans will hear about it for sure so they better be ready to take some after being too much in their pathetic lives.
forgive me for wanting my club to be successful? like tf is the problem with wanting our team to win the league smh the bias against arsenal is massive
arsenal finished the league with 89 points and only lost once in 2024 but they still were not able to win the league this just shows how stupendously good the city team is and even one lose is enough for city to win the league
but i swear arsenal fans on twitter were mocking Liverpool for winning 1 league title when they got more points then arsenal and still finished one point behind city twice
@@a.demifemiflapo5795 He's not saying that, he's pointing out that you like most have dumb fans. Klopp is constantly slandered for only winning 1 prem in his tenure, i get it from arsenal and united fans i know but I'm yet to see either of them do it in the city era. I also expected arsenal fans i know to take it back after failing twice but no, they still label klopp a failure and diminish his achievements.
@@LP_digital WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?!? I and many Arsenal fans respect Klopp for what he did in 2019/20 and alot feel for him after falling short ourselves
I remember people saying that Liverpool’s title win in 19/20 was terrible because they weren’t invincible and didn’t win a treble. People will complain about Man City dominating the league and yearn for a more competitive league but set ridiculous standards for anyone competing for a title
Liverpool pl title should've never counted. Same with bayerns UCL, there was a pandemic which affected everyone. Plus add that with multiple leagues cancelling their season, pl should've followed route.
@@Otis.Supremacy we were 25 points clear when lockdown happened . Also city lost to United twice Wolves twice Southampton and Norwich Even if the league had gotten cancelled we were well clear
When city win the league all rival clubs have an excuse, "they have more money", "115" ,"It's impossible to compete with" . But if Arsenal won they would actually have to face the reality that their club is run poorly and that is actually possible to compete with Man City on equal terms. The Arsenal hate is just a coping mechanism
People cling to stereotypes. Arsenal have languished in the last two decades as a shadow of their glory days in the early 2000s, we've been the "little bros" of the league for many years. The mind doesn't like it when perceptions are shattered, Arsenal breaking free of their mediocrity goes against what rival fans have been accustomed to for so long. So the fact they were so close this year is why the reaction from rival fans was so strong, they don't want the punch bag of the league to suddenly have fire power.
It's so funny seeing gooners who will break their back to find a deep justification for hatred of Arsenal that isn't just "because they're so fucking annoying". It's because you're so fucking annoying! I don't care if Spurs, who have been a punching bag for decades, win the league. Or any others. You think you're an elite European club, when United, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, are all bigger clubs. You've never won the Champions League. You haven't won the league in 20 years. There's no subtext, Arsenal fans just have no self-awareness, and enough self-opinion to make the rest of the country cringe when you start every season confident you'll win the league.
Remember: When you guys finished 8th in the league and Arsenal was as low as 15th in the league in 2019/20, 2020/21, all the Arsenal fanbase was calling for Arteta's head. If he was indeed sacked during that time, your club would remain a mid-table club today.
@@kwanlinus6999 Arsenal have extremely high expextations. You can't expect Arsenal fans in 2021 to predict the future. Of course they will call for the sack they were in 8th place
Great video man! As Arsenal fan - I think because AFTV is the biggest platform for Gooners, ALL Arsenal fans are generalised and fans of other clubs assume we're ALL like Cecil (printing t-shirts of us being top of the league at Christmas) 😂 I do think we'll be in the title race again, but think Pep wins it until he leaves the Premier League. I just don't agree with wanting another team to LOSE more than wanting your own team to WIN in the bigger picture.
I guess that is what confuses me. I been a fan of Arsenal last 3 years here in the US and never interacted with AFTV. So all I see on TH-cam is that Arsenal gets put down by like half of the football community and I wonder why lol.
I love how people on AFTV are getting shit for being too positive or too negative depending on who you speak to. Everyone has their little reasons to scapegoat the channel. In the same comment section even. People just take an opinion or fancam from any specific member of AFTV or a random fan outside the stadium and use that opinion to judge everyone else who appears on there. Tunnel vision is real. And the Cecil shirt thing was embarrassing but that’s not something to use against them. Football fandom is supposed to be fun.
"It’s fine that people hate us, it’s part of our history” - George Graham I came in already knowing no one will give us our flowers even if we win the league. No one likes us, simply cause they wish it was their team that could detrone City. I dnt feel any of the fans are any worse than Chelsea Fans or UTD Fans, AFTV sure added fuel to the fire but they werent the only fanbase to have something like this, UTD Stand exist and Rory Jennings was also there for Chelsea. Personally i boil it to envy.
I had no idea why people hate arsenal so much... I grew up in North London during Arsenal's invincibles and Thierry Henry was my favourite player but I just loved the club because we excelled at the time, it was where I lived but its been a struggle ever since.. It was not until I got older and I had something to root for with Arsenal the last few years that I realized how much people hated us and I have no idea why... we have not achieved that much, we haven't been a serious challenger for god knows how long and I used to chalk it up as playful banter but they genuinely hate us and that just shows me we are doing something to be envious about. Now that were doing well and people still trying to banter us like were not playing better than every team not named Man City, its straight up delusional and I question if you even enjoy good football. Yeah we haven't won trophies, we know that, Yeah we have some insufferable fans, every club does but we've built a squad without cheating, shown nothing but integrity, we play good football, were a cohesive young team, what's not to like? I respect the likes of Liverpool so much for building a team with integrity and challenging a cheating goliath in our league. I have not seen them get the hate we've received.
I am a West Ham fan and as such, had nothing to celebrate either. But as a neutral, who didn't really care who much about who would win the league, I will weigh in on this discussion. I feel like the reason Arsenal is hated is because the deluded and insufferable behaviour some of your fans exhibit, in my opinion is the most notable and infamous of all delusional fan behaviour in the premier league. With AFTV being the most popular Arsenal fan outlet, they indirectly represent the fanbase of the club it certainly tarnishes the reputation of Arsenal fans, inaccurately depicting them all as dickheads, when we all know the majority of them are sound. To be honest, it is an absolute shame. Love them or hate them, Arsenal are a great club and have given us football fans many great players and teams to watch in their time. I will say now, it would have been nice to see another club win the league for once. I am also glad you blokes are looking after Declan Rice too.
@@Angus-bn2ob the Arsenal subreddits are insane, after 3 weeks into the season I saw fans saying that Rice was better than Rodri. I've seen some saying Odegaard is better than Bruno Fernandes. They were proclaiming most of their players as "world class" people comparing Saliba to Ferdinand, Van Dijk and Vidic. Plus Martinelli is a top tier cunt. They kept bragging about being top scorers in the league, and any criticism is met with a victim mentality where they act like everyone is out to get them, when some of it has been valid. Liverpool fans despite being one of the best teams in the world for 3 seasons, were never like that, they were happy to be along for the ride, after being so mediocre for so long, and Liverpool actually earned the right to brag, because they actually won stuff, but their fanbase was still reasonable and humble, but the Arsenal fans are the exact opposite, they seem to think they're Gods gift to football for being 2nd
As an arsenal fan I gave up the league in my mind after villa. It was amusing to see TL banter us though as if they wouldn’t love to see their club in a similar position despite the pain. We were finishing 8th back to back and now we’re challenging back to back, it’s definitely progress to be proud about and any club’s fan base would be proud about trophies or not.
as a spurs fan i’d fully agree. it was the same from 15-17 when we were actually good and everyone just teamed up to hate us cos our fans got too arrogant. same happening with arsenal now but don’t blame u lot for being happy with last 2 years you’ve seen great football and great results people saying u can’t be happy w ur team without a trophy are brainless
They do know the big trophy is coming and they need to get the most banter they can get until we do eventually win the title but until then we have to deal with it
The fact arsenal got twice in a row, kinda shows that arsenal can win the league, but they just can’t, interesting video topic and I’m intrigued by it 😊
Let me remind u, this four-peat happening is all down to Pep, no manager would've won after losing key players every year. Only 5-6 players of 2017-18 are now here. Pep won the league with most dominant side ever with 100 points, false 9, no strikers, inverted fullbacks, best goalscoring striker in history of football. He won all battles and wars, he even won one of the most intense and nerve-wracking title race ever. He lost Yaya, Zabaleta, D. Silva, Gundogan, Kompany, Otamendi, Laporte, Mahrez, Aguero, Jesus, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Cancelo, Sterling, Sane, and many more. Yes, he had the backing and replaced them, but even if he didn't get he found ways to win the league. This is all on him. Once Pep goes, it will be normal again, 4 different winners in 10yrs but not the same club winning 7 out of those 10
City had a pretty Medicare transfer after losing key players after treble. Maybe they're just the best at winning. Don't they set the highest bar since you want the league to be competitive. They don't win by default or votes you know 😂. 38 games like every other club
I'm an Arsenal fan, I know of the prime reasons why people don't want to see us succeed it's because most of the other big 6 clubs see us as the "banter" club from the 2000s and how can THAT BANTER CLUB be successful while their "non-banter" clubs who have been unsuccessful in the later years fall behind. This is key from Man Utd fans, United fans don't want to see us win after Arsene because they refuse to believe that a club can let go of their icon manager and be successful so fast. It's my key reason, they will go out and turn arguments around to make it seem finishing 2nd with 1 defeat in 2024 as "bottling" meanwhile, United fans (looking at you Rio) call winning the FA Cup and finishing 3rd as a success bigger than almost winning the league. It's a strange argument that Football Twitter has exploded to unreal levels; I still think Arsenal are a little bit behind due to the lack of squad depth, it shows levels that the only thing they can call out a quality homegrown ENGLISH star in Bukayo Saka is "the limp" even making up arguments where he hasn't proven it in "big games" when he's our best performer in big 6 games.
Arsenal's uninterrupted top-flight streak since 1919-20 might be a key reason why some football fans subconsciously root against them winning the Premier League. With only 13 people in the UK alive today who have a chance of recalling Arsenal not in the top flight, given that memories typically start forming around age 2.5, their long-standing presence breeds a perception of enduring privilege and stability. This contrasts with clubs like Manchester City, whose modern rise has an underdog narrative, or Liverpool, whose passionate fanbase and historical struggles invoke a sense of romanticism. Arsenal's consistency can seem less exciting or relatable, making fans more inclined to support teams with more dramatic stories of triumph and adversity.
@@kwanlinus6999it's statements like yours that make me think that this hatred is just a big funny joke lmao, fighting relegation? I'm not even an Arsenal fan and I know that you're reaching for no real reason other than to hate, what did that club do to you people?😂😂

@@Vizeh I think so too. AFTV have got rid of all the crazy banter worthy people. Its more like any other fan channel now. Most importantly Arsenal as a club has itself distanced themselves from AFTV. So talking about some AFTV videos from 2017 is not a good enough reason for people to hate on arsenal.
What I really hate is that other fans refer to the Arsenal fan base that is on social media rather than the actual part of the fan base that isn’t anywhere near as bad, also every single big team has those fans who are delusional and believe that they have the best team in the world.
yep, they didnt like we are an ethical club. They didnt like when we had foreigners, they didnt lik it when we got a FRENCH manger, they didnt like we fielded 11 non english players, they didnt like that our team was full of black players. Its actually sad.
The fact of the matter is every Arsenal fan knows that sheer hatred for the club is real. I have read all the comments and the single reason why everyone hates us (according to comments) is AFTV. I read one comment that literally assumed that AFTV represents all Arsenal fans. As an Arsenal for 30 years and someone who has gone to a number of games, categorically confirm that AFTV doesn't represent the fan base and number of fans hates the channel. I read one comment accusing the fan base of hounding out Wenger, when every Arsenal fan knows the media played a massive part in creating such a narrative regarding getting rid of Wenger (The Mirror and The Sun had journalist's calling for Wenger to leave. Paddy Power even had poll booth on a match day outside the Emirates for 'Wenger In' or 'Wenger Out'). I could understand the hatred if we were winning the league year in year out, or had a wealthy benefactor who through financial doping bought our success, or even if we had strong ties to National Front group like Combat 18. But the fact we don't.
Been a fan since I got to watch my first match on TV in '02 with Wenger ball. It is so sad to see the bunch of, for lack of other words, stupid idiots that run our big media accounts 'representing' all of us. Of course those attention-seeking media darlings are in everyone's minds, they don't do it for the love of their club, they're a business.
@Johndoe-gf7eu I am going to slightly disagree and I will try explain my point clearly. When United were dominating under Sir Alex Ferguson, sure they were hated but there was always still a respect. When we won a couple of titles under Wenger, the respect shown towards us winning was a begrudging respect (in that we recognised for winning the title but were still hated). Let me try and put it in another way. Sir Alex was a media darling, for xenophobic media he was one of their own (British). Wenger was a French man (Johnny Foreigner), who when the slow decline started happening (partly due to our move to the Emirates and the finances to buy players at the beginning became difficult) the media were frothing at the mouth to take pot shots and played a significant role in the whole 'Wenger In' or 'Wenger Out' debate. Will forget (nor forgive) those arsehole journalists at The Mirror and The Sun for adding fuel to the fire and assisting with tensions with our fan base. I personally feel its because of that discourse AFTV was able to thrive under those conditions. As a consequence we are still hated, hence every rival fan (and outlets like ESPN FC and the English Admin of Bayern Leverkuesen Twitter account) took such glee in mocking us.

What lost us the league was the losses to West Ham and Fulham at Christmas. At the end of the day, losing to villa is honorable, but losing to Fulham doesn’t help to win the league. Next season with a striker that actually can finish we’ll maybe have a chance

The premier league being a "competitive league" is interesting; I believe it's 2 seperate "competitive leagues" at the moment, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, both Manchester teams, Newcastle, and Villa being their own super league. Then the rest of the teams are their own "best of the rest" competitive league trying to stay up. So collectively, no the Premier League is not a competitive league, but if you think about it as two seperate mini leagues, yeah it's competitive in that sense. In my opinion at least
I think it's mainly in this online sphere where everyone has a mental age of about five that people hate Arsenal. There's no real reason to hate Arsenal as a club, sure AFTV and similar are cringe, but every club has a group of fans like that. When Liverpool challenged City they weren't hated like Arsenal are now, despite both clubs being comparable in how they are run. It's a very odd thing to have happened, but it has created a kind of siege mentality among the club and fans as well.
I have a different experience with arsenal supporters here in the states. They are bearable here because most of us started following in the early 2000’s and stuck with them ever since lol
Its annoying because not every arsenal fan is like that. Like cmon it’s just those loud, delusional fans who are representing the fanbase. Because, not every arsenal fan is “pray for bayern” “we’re better than city” and its not fair cus its only a small fraction of the real fanbase
If you know an Arsenal fan IRL you’d know we have good ballknowledge and are not deluded like many creators try to frame us to be. I think I speak for every Arsenal fan when I say I fell in love with the way we played, not because of prior succes.
I have 3 Arsenal fans as friends, 2 are extremely deluded and loves to self-pity. They talk a lot of ish when they're on top and find a lot excuses when they lose.
Exactly. I fell in love with the football, not the trophies. That's why during the banter era, I was absolutely miserable, not because we weren't winning trophies (we won a lot of FA Cups) but because we played like sh*t. And that's why right now I'm over the moon because even though we're not winning trophies, we play such beautiful football, it gives Peter Drury poetic inspiration. Most of us REAL Gooners are football fans, not glory hunters.
i personally think that arsenals revival happened quite suddenly and rival fans from teams like liverpool, chelsea, and united haven't fully processed arsenal being in a better place than their own clubs, hence the hate.
I feel like social media (notably twitter) had such a massive part in this. As a Villa fan, the days before the Arsenal-Villa game I saw so many toxic social media accounts posting shit about Emery and Dibu (idk about other clubs). Those accounts tend to do better than the genuine Arsenal accounts that don't do the trash talking. If you look at social media and all you see is a bunch of Arsenal fans insulting your club, your players ofc you won't like Arsenal. It also doesn't help how much they went on last season about winning the league just to drop off at the end.
I dont think the premier is a competitive league but that its a really hard league cause you have 3/4 teams with unlimited badge that can just smash talent together and call it a day while the rest has to do with that they have
Have you met the average Arsenal fan? The director of the company I work for is a season ticket holder. He was celebrating like he had won the league most of the season.
It's wrong to celebrate for winning right now huh? Other fans can celebrate all they want but not the same case for Arsenal because the way we celebrate is annoying? Come on...... Get a much more solid reason why rival fans hate us and why we should not celebrate because our favourite team is winning a game.
I mean of course, hate all the insufferable fans but you cannot stand us celebrating because we won a game? oh my god my guy you expect us to what? cry like new born babies? That shit is way too absurd and nonsense to use as an argument.

It's clear to everyone that AFTV has really hurt Arsenal. Is it not possible for the club to issue an official statement dissociating itself from AFTV? I mean, crazy thought, but, won't it have some merit?
If City's dominance is bad for league, where was this energy when Fergie was in charge? Fergie was 2 points away from winning 9 in a row!!! Wasnt that bad for the league? People just hate it bcz the red cartel clubs arent at the driving seat anymore, they just hate when its not the red jersey clubs

Genuinely if you banter Arsenal or go on about how you're glad they didn't win the league (unless you're a Tottenham fan) then you have absolutely zero ground to stand on when you call the league boring. Football twitter has ruined the way we view the game.
@@qwertymehta8342 Yeah in London but that makes sense because they're neighbouring rivals. If you live anywhere else in the country you're just weird for having a strange level of hatred for them just because a few of them make tits of themselves on AFTV.
For me it's the stick Arsenal fans gave us (spurs fans) for being proud of our team for finishing 2nd and 3rd in the premier league and getting to a champions league final. "put the pressure on" trophy was their favourite line. So the fact that their fans are really (rightly) proud of their team the last few seasons for playing great football and being on the edge of winning trophies, without actually winning one, is so deliciously ironic to me.
@@Zero-ed3fx not over the last two seasons, but you’re proud of your team anyways, which is exactly my point. because technically we have won things in the past too, I don’t think it really changes the logic because it was much longer ago.

they mock arsenal because they’d kill to be in our position. also hating arsenal is nothing new as george graham used to say that it’s our history to be hated by everyone
case in point of why people hate gunners... cocky mfs..no one want their team to end a season without a single piece of silverware why would they want to be like arsenal?
City winning 4 doesn't make the league non competitive because we've won it on the last day twice and we've been involved in crazy title races, with a 3 way race this season... To me, the league is competitive, but City always find a way of being marginally better than the rest, and also it's a strong mentality which help us rescue games even from losing positions... We all know city fans in the Etihad and how impossible it has become to see City losing a 90minute match in the Etihad, that mentality, that culture is what helps push us in title races
This. Look back on City's first PL title and the famous Aguero winner -- That match has come to define City in this modern era of football, and going back to that match is like seeing in real time how a club can go from famously "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" to becoming a routine favorite that you can rarely ever count out. Moments like that (including the comeback win against Villa with Gundo) are part of the club's culture now.
what I don't get with everyone else is that rival fans will use that run of 1 win in 10 for us (at 5:39) as an excuse to say 'Arsenal backed Arteta, we should back our boss'. That suggests that Arsenal are now very good & that Arteta is a very good manager. But the moment we slip up everyone gangs in to call us & Arteta shit.
Yeah I honestly think it’s the fans. This is coming from a non-English watcher that’s completely neutral for the PL. like I remember the hashtag PrayForPorto trending, or “give us Real Madrid”. While every fan base has annoying and cocky fans it seems like arsenal are more annoying, and with more annoying people. Like I don’t recall Liverpool when they were competing with city trash talking this badly, saying stuff like “goodbye United, Spurs and Chelsea we are on to bigger things now”. Arsenal fans being cocky is also annoying considering arsenal haven’t won a major trophy for 20 years and were a banter club for majority of those 20 years. Yet act the most cocky. Oh and AFTV is also a thing.
@@artmichael5270 I mean the inline fanbase is what 95% of football fans witness. And I don’t think they just do it for engagement, no other team really does so why should they?
@@yungclimba not to the extend of arsenal fans, Not even close. Again this is just from what I have seen in the past like 10 years as a neutral but even Liverpool when they were ucl winners weren’t this bad. Like do you remember them ever going “yeah guys pray for Porto we are gonna destroy them”. I mean maybe a few but not enough to get a whole ass hashtag trending. Even spurs when they got to the ucl final barely talked this much trash. All have annoying fan bases but arsenal is by far the worst.
As to City as the Prem's Bayern Munich: 1. Those charges are slated to be heard in court at "end 2025"; 2. Pep has hinted that 24/25 MAY BE his last season. So quite a big iceberg on the horizon.
I think it’s more damning for the premier league that people are basically saying a team shouldn’t be allowed to win it four times on the bounce. Surely that undermines the competition?
In my own opinion there are 2 types of Arsenal fans…. The traditional like me, who takes it game by game, enjoys the journey but at the same time understand the monumental challenge we are up against when we play Liverpool, utd, spurs, Chelsea, Man City and even the likes of villa and palace regardless where they are in the league…. They are tough opponents and it’s football and anything can happen. Yes I do believe it’s possible to win the league but in order to do so we must be near perfect. Last season I never once was like ‘we are winning the league’ even with 8 points in the ‘bank’ over city as I know just how much of a monster city are in the run in. Same as this year, I just hoped and enjoyed the ride… no silly gram or twitter posts, just watching and enjoying my beloved team FINALLY playing well after so many years of watching infuriating sideways and backwards football trying to walk the ball in to the net. If we win against a rival so be it, I love the smile on my face after and that’s that, no calling out other fans or rubbing salt as on another day that same team could beat us… again… it’s football… Then you have the what I call the plastic fans… even I find these insufferable…. Prematurely printing champions shirts, posting all over social media, blasting Arteta out when the slightest thing goes wrong, forever tagging other fans in a post where they have lost to Arsenal, stupid comparisons like saka vs rashford or Doku or odegard vs Maddison etc etc etc Unfortunately these idiots get the most attention ie AFTV (which I don’t watch because it’s not a true arsenal channel, they profit from views after losses from rival fans with their rages and rants and they know it…. It’s a business model) As a traditional Arsenal fan, unfortunately I get lumped in with these clowns so I receive an absurd amount of ‘banter’ from rival fans when I play fifa with my arsenal past and present squad or mates as they just assume I’m of the plastic group and tbh it goes beyond banter, to the point I have to turn off notifications and I’ve even had to block people until the dust has settled. It’s honestly that bad as an Arsenal fan but hey…. I love my team, I’ll never stop supporting them and it’s just so soothing to the soul to see the boys skim it across the pitch with such class and ease these days, I love it! Maybe one day rival fans will wise up that plastic fans are the minority and do not represent Arsenal fans as a whole but even then…. I’ll still expect the hate or bullying disguised as ‘banter’ as it’s just an easy bullet in the chamber for them… what can you do! What I will say is the hate is real and it’s fn deep…. Why? I don’t really know… the above reason can’t be the whole story but who knows… Love the content my guy 💚 and oh…. COYG 🔴⚪️ 😂
I supported Liverpool in the title race as an Arsenal fan all the years you were in that as well (aside from this season obviously, but if you were in the same situation we were in at the end I would've much preferred you over City)
Derby fan - I think its because many of the 'Big clubs' have ruled for so long they became a little too egotistical getting carried away with the formation of the premier league and thinking themselves as superior (likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal) and deserved to be the ones at the top end of the league every year by almost a divine right. forgetting the years pre-premier League when teams like Villa, Sunderland, Wolves, Huddersfield, Derby, forest, Leeds etc were all highly successful trophy winning teams now I revel in the downfall of all 4 of them the Premier League needed a wake up call and i think City and soon Newcastle and maybe Villa will be the ones to do it
The thing I don’t seem to understand is this “City Juggernaut” claim. On paper, sure 4 in a row SEEMS bad, as if there’s no competition, but how many league titles, even going back to the ones won by Pellegrini and Mancini, have been blow outs and wrapped up by March? The Man United season where they finished second is really the only season where City where THAT far away from everyone else, and every single other title has either come down to final day or final 3 days. Sure, one team winning the league 6 out of 7 times SOUNDS like a farmers league, but that’s taking the credit away from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal who have really pushed City to be the best in the league.
@@Johndoe-gf7eu that’s cause you fail to see my point. In that instance there has been NO other winners than Bayern, with them vacuuming up all the talent in Germany to create a super team and not let other teams even get close to competing. Look at this season, it took a bad manager and a VERY INSANE Leverkusen performance to dethrone them for the first time in 11 years. Man city has not and most likely never will hold that monopoly of buying all the best talent in England AND win with no one being able to catch up to them
As a Liverpool fan, I wanted Arsenal to win the PL but the way some of their fans treated us and Klopp was disrespectful to be honest. They overhyped their players and manager and made fun of us. Maybe they can be a more senseful about what they say?! Then we can talk.
I think its because people look at arsenal and see the fans shown on tiktok and aftv which are die hard fans that are very bias and get called deluded which make for great content but give a bad stick. Because any arsenal fan show passion and say were gonna win the leauge people think of these fans and shut us down make fun and then call us "deluded" and to some of the stuff shown aint even "outrageous stuff" like saka over foden (not that outrageous). Another is people still go on about the "past" with obviously not winning the prem in over 20 years and mainly 2020 horrible season where we would make fun off and it was a painful PAINFUL time and now were out the mud and people seem to not accept that also if man city win its a mechanism of coping saying we lost the prem or oh the cheating oil money clubs but Arsenal if they win they lost to a side that looked like a bunch of twats just 3-4 years ago.
I was an Arsenal fan. 2011-2013 was just to heartbreaking. I had enough. Also the fucking toxic fan base made me stop following. Liverpool and United are more toxic but still Arsenal is bad too. However other fans club not caring about city winning shows how bad it is.
as a liverpool fan, my main problem with arsenal has always been that their fanbase continuously talk shit about us and klopp while they themselves have now gone trophyless back to back with close to a super team.
everyone has to take it, 2nd is the first loser.. the difference is we are getting shit on from everywhere, even good players like Saka, one of the best englsihman gets stick while someone like Foden had average seasons until this one and gets hyped to the moon.
As a spurs fan their fans going like “arteta out” is just them crying You have a great manager who has a great team, he just started using that team it’s not gonna change in a flick of a switch
As a Liverpool fan who transitioned to rooting for man city to win the league after we bottled it, who knows the pain of losing the league by just one point, twice, I feel your pain, Arsenal. Embrace the hate, because you'll get yours. And it tastes sweet.
The Premier League is absurdly tribal. I'm an Arsenal fan, but I genuinely think if Trent Alexander Arnold was in another league, he would be viewed in a completely different light. If he started outside England on a similar path to Musiala or Bellingham and went to Madrid, he would be revered there on a similar level to Jude imo. And English fans would see him as a galactico and potentially one of the best RBs ever. I don't think he'll get that reputation at Liverpool because of the hatred between rivals.
Even though the points may differ drastically the games themselves tell a different story with the tiniest of margins usually being the difference like scoring 2 or 3 in the last moments of a match like with a few of Man City’s last matches or a great showing from a keeper or so many other random things. There’s so many decisive moments and that’s why it’s the most competitive league You can look at the league and think it’s not competitive but if you watch it over a season you know it is
I (Liverpool fan) didn't want Arsenal to win the Premier league. The main reason is that their fans are so insufferable. Combined 11s with Real Madrid after 1 title challenge, the whole pray for Bayren thing. I was told by an Arsenal fan that they would beat city at the Ethihad 4-0 because they are so much better and would easily win the CL. Some of them were saying Artetta had surpassed Klopps legacy without even winning anything. The thought of them winning was painful. When City wins, it's empty, it's hollow. They don't have many fans, so it's easy to ignore. 115 also discredits anything they achieve.
AFTV is terrible. But it only represents about 1% of Arsenal fans who (not coincidentally) are the most vocal out of all of the fans. Don't judge Arsenal or any fanbase for that matter on a couple of delusional fans
@blueity3659 you're 100% right about AFTV. A lot of these comments I've heard, though are from Arsenal fans I personally know. I would have to deal with whatever they would say next if they actually won a league title
@@richardlittle8626 Sounds like a lot of Arsenal fans you personally know use AFTV lol, though I couldn't stand it if I was in your position and had to deal with their comments if they won
Honestly i'm a united fan so i couldnt care who won the league, but i think the reqson a lot of people didnt want aresnal to win was because of the fans. From what ive heqrd from people they dont like aresnal fans so they didnt want them to win the league
If that's a reason then every team with a fan base shouldn't want the other team to win because they can't stand their fans. And that's the problem people have become so narrow minded that because of a small minority of obnoxious and extreme Arsenal fans then the whole team and the majority of reasonable fans should suffer is that it ?
I don't think so, it's just people just love to hate on Arsenal that's it. Even if Arsenal were to win the league tomorrow those people would push the goalposts and find something else to hate Arsenal for.
Its kind of sad, i go on twitter and i literally just see our fans (mainly) from africa who just ki** themselves over coming 2nd, football is lowkey crazy.
I mean as a tottenham fan that doesnt hate arsenal i couldnt care less about them winning the league but the champions league spot was already taken by villa so i didnt mind losing to city aswell
i don’t feel like arsenal fans have ever been particularly different to other big clubs in terms of how “insufferable” they are, but seeing people parrot this nonsense is making me want to spam all of my mates with arsenal stuff after every single win and after any trophy we’re gonna win in our lifetimes. you definitely haven’t seen “insufferable” yet
I'm an arsenal fan but I seriously hate how active both the club and fans are on social media as if we're somehow the best club in all of history, it just gets embarrassing sometimes and I understand the hate we get. every big club has this but arsenal are definetly the worst
As a Newcastle fan, imo nothing can override that feeling of bad-blood with Arsenal, Liverpool etc. So of course we want City to win the league as we have no bad-blood whatsoever really.
The season isnt 5months long, it didnt start in 2024 They pushed city to the limits, agreed. But if u lose 6 points to villa, lose to fulham and then expect to win the league against Pep, its not going to work out. Rodri was right, it was a mentality thing, good result to get a draw vs city but they didnt even try to win.
That actually makes sense, Utd fans hate arsenal but not as much as they hate city or Liverpool. I don’t like Man Utd but I’d take them winning the league any day over Chelsea or spurs as they are London rivals
So then why do united fans talk of a treble won 25 years ago? Should clubs like Villa, Forrest and even Spurs not be able to talk about titles won even if they were ages ago? The invincibles might not be considered a great achievement by city or united but to us that's the single greatest feat in our clubs history.
Its not quality its depth. Chelsea have great players and a million injuries. Same with newcastle and Spurs. City just have a wellspring of players other clubs would put in the first team. They have two different starting elevens that could contend for the league separately and they all play for the same team
i'm irish, but lived in england for 15 years and as a complete neutral i've genuinely found arsenal fans insufferable. I love their history and i love what Artetas doing with the club love the players, but the fans do my absolute nut in (obviously there are some alright ones out there) but the majority of ones i talk to either in real life or just see opinions online are crazy byist and whine and whine and whine. Would've loved to see Arsenal as a football club win the league but id have hated for Arsenal as fans to have their team win the league.
To answer the questions in order 1. No 2. Why because I’m a City fan so I have an obvious bias 🩵🩵🩵 3. That’s harder to say because for neutrals I completely understand why y’all would want a different winner year to year however during the premier league’s history and even English football before the premier league era there was always a team who dominated whether it was Liverpool in 70s-80s united in 90s-2000s or us now and it’s never hurt the product before
It's probably because their fans talk way too much, are so arrogant, yet they have won as much as Real Madrid has. They talk way too much for their own good. Also AFTV doesn't help
A league being competitive has more to do if there’s a race for the title or not. The Prem almost always delivers 3-4 title challengers, the problem is that only one club are serious about winning and have that mentality built into the club structure. That club is City. Liverpool tried and failed to build the same ruthless winning mentality, but the rest just doesn’t have owners that care about winning titles, they care about franchise profits. Other European leagues tend to have one or two clubs that runs away with the league every season and they end up being boring and predictable. The only league I think can hold a candle to the EPL is Serie A
the owners of Man City don't need to care about franchise profits, that's the difference. They're a state funded club, and their owners' main aim is sports washing, so for them, winning is the main aim. They're owned by a state and the money gained from City for them would be minimal.
In most pre-season predictions, hardly any "pundits" put Arsenal anywhere close to the title. But many people expected Liverpool to challenge for the title (which they did) or even win it (which they didn't). So, in reality Liverpool bottled the league having stayed in the driver's seat for a long period of time, but no one is talking about it. It all boils down to narratives. Media narratives usually put Arsenal on the defensive while putting Liverpool and some other clubs on a pedestal. I think a lot of it is historical. But what I cannot deny is that Arsenal's fanbase (especially the fanbase shown on AFTV) loses a lot of goodwill for Arsenal. I mean, even I would hate Arsenal by now from what I see those blokes do on that channel if I wasn't an Arsenal fan. From forcing our most legendary manager out in the most ignoble of circumstances, demanding Arteta's head every time we have a bad run, to saying we're the best club in the world every time we have a good run. Surely, not the best fanbase a club can have. But what can I do? I love the club too much to hate it because of AFTV.
@@lucastanciu2567 I don't think you're being remotely factual. It's more their fans that makes you hate arsenal. I don't mind city but arsenal winning the league would be the worst. Glad they bottled it again. That's how they do.

I'm sure most of them are normal, a very large portion of them are utterly the worst when it comes to biting your ear off
It’s also the fans from my experience will talk poorly about almost every other teams and their players but when it comes back they get super defensive and resort to name calling or “InViNcIBle”

Not only that but rival fans tend to always, and i mean ALWAYS, treat every single arsenal fan in the world as if they're the same as the delusional fans you see on AFTV or Lee Gunner for example.

You booed Wenger and regularly booed in the stadium when things weren't going your way, match day going fans and twitter fans have acted NO DIFFERENTLY to social media personalities.

In the same comment section even. People just take an opinion or fancam from any specific member of AFTV or a random fan outside the stadium and use that opinion to judge everyone else who appears on there. Tunnel vision is real.

It's because your fanbase is the loudest and most cancerous even if there are a lot of genuinely good fans. That's literally the only reason.
@@Angus-bn2obPretty much only Ty is delusional on AFTV. The rest are quite reasonable in their support for their team.
@@Angus-bn2ob Great to a mature lion fan here.
As an arsenal fan I gave up the league in my mind after villa. It was amusing to see TL banter us though as if they wouldn’t love to see their club in a similar position despite the pain.

Honestly tho no one said Liverpool were bottlers in 18/19 97 points and 1 loss placement: 2nd
@@DjmasterE-hy6opExactly.
Your analysis of "4 leagues within the league" is actually very interesting.
I think many people that’s speaking on Arsenal now have vague or no memory to Football 20-30 years ago when speaking on modern day

United are hated wayyyyy more tho lets be real
@@BlackThoughtTheOverLord spot on mate can vividly remember every summer from 07-13 in the scummy sun every time a player left stating ‘crisis’ with the badge split in the middle until we signed Ozil, after that point I stopped giving a fuck what they printed out about Wenger because I sensed the agenda against him!

We didn’t by 2 points, and that was due to a stupid game against Villa.

If we win against a rival so be it, I love the smile on my face after and that’s that, no calling out other fans or rubbing salt as on another day that same team could beat us… again… it’s football…
Then you have the what I call the plastic fans… even I find these insufferable…. Prematurely printing champions shirts, posting all over social media, blasting Arteta out when the slightest thing goes wrong, forever tagging other fans in a post where they have lost to Arsenal, stupid comparisons like saka vs rashford or Doku or odegard vs Maddison etc etc etc
Unfortunately these idiots get the most attention ie AFTV (which I don’t watch because it’s not a true arsenal channel, they profit from views after losses from rival fans with their rages and rants and they know it…. It’s a business model)
As a traditional Arsenal fan, unfortunately I get lumped in with these clowns so I receive an absurd amount of ‘banter’ from rival fans when I play fifa with my arsenal past and present squad or mates as they just assume I’m of the plastic group and tbh it goes beyond banter, to the point I have to turn off notifications and I’ve even had to block people until the dust has settled.
Why? I don’t really know… the above reason can’t be the whole story but who knows…
Love the content my guy 💚 and oh…. COYG 🔴⚪️ 😂

I think its because many of the 'Big clubs' have ruled for so long they became a little too egotistical getting carried away with the formation of the premier league and thinking themselves as superior (likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal) and deserved to be the ones at the top end of the league every year by almost a divine right.
forgetting the years pre-premier League when teams like Villa, Sunderland, Wolves, Huddersfield, Derby, forest, Leeds etc were all highly successful trophy winning teams
now I revel in the downfall of all 4 of them the Premier League needed a wake up call and i think City and soon Newcastle and maybe Villa will be the ones to do it
The thing I don’t seem to understand is this “City Juggernaut” claim.
Bayern also had very close title fights in the last couple of seasons, yet the bri'ish still called the Bundesliga a farmer's league
So if bayern have a close race every year, but still win 11 in a row, its not a farmers league? Doesn’t make sense.
Then we can talk.
tbh, there are a lot of gooners who admire Kloppy and what he'd done there. People who trashtalk could probably be, are just trolls.
Klopp is generally very well respected by Arsenal fans, always has been.
Well tbf Liverpool are now finished without Klopp, whereas Arsenal can get better next year and leave them in the dust
This Arsenal team isn't a super team by any means. Close to one but not there yet.
Super team? Come on man what the fuck we are not a super team
As a spurs fan their fans going like “arteta out” is just them crying
You have a great manager who has a great team, he just started using that team it’s not gonna change in a flick of a switch
As a Liverpool fan who transitioned to rooting for man city to win the league after we bottled it, who knows the pain of losing the league by just one point, twice, I feel your pain, Arsenal. Embrace the hate, because you'll get yours. And it tastes sweet.
K BUT WHAT IF WE FUCKING DONT G CAUSE LETS BE HONEST MATE THIS ARSENAL TEAM ISNT EVEN CLOSE TO KLOPPS PRIME LIVERPOOL!!
The goat has posted 🐐🐐🐐
❤❤
Even though the points may differ drastically the games themselves tell a different story with the tiniest of margins usually being the difference like scoring 2 or 3 in the last moments of a match like with a few of Man City’s last matches or a great showing from a keeper or so many other random things. There’s so many decisive moments and that’s why it’s the most competitive league
You can look at the league and think it’s not competitive but if you watch it over a season you know it is
I (Liverpool fan) didn't want Arsenal to win the Premier league.
Love dont come no stronger than yours and mine, cuz I believe in you, you believe in me that makes us one of a kinddddd
Stuck in my head since i saw that clip as well
Honestly i'm a united fan so i couldnt care who won the league, but i think the reqson a lot of people didnt want aresnal to win was because of the fans.
@lyno2834 I agree people are just haters ik that being a united fan. But I'm pretty sure it's just people don't like aresnal
Same, aslong as it aint liverpool, our record number 20 is still intact and we are still the kings of england. Love to see it
Its kind of sad, i go on twitter and i literally just see our fans (mainly) from africa who just ki** themselves over coming 2nd, football is lowkey crazy.
As a City fan, I indeed did notnwant Arsenal to win the league.
crazy, big if true
Why not?
Obviously it was your biggest rival
I mean as a tottenham fan that doesnt hate arsenal i couldnt care less about them winning the league but the champions league spot was already taken by villa so i didnt mind losing to city aswell
The Champions League spot wasn't already taken by Villa when Spurs played City.
To be specific it's the fans that people doesn't like because they are insufferable which is understandable.
Most of the fans are fine, its just a select few that ruin it for everyone
All our players get underrated/disrespected, especially saka.
Depends which fans you see I guess, feel like those on Twitter and those not have a different opinion
Which is a terrible argument most fans of big teams are the exact same
i don’t feel like arsenal fans have ever been particularly different to other big clubs in terms of how “insufferable” they are, but seeing people parrot this nonsense is making me want to spam all of my mates with arsenal stuff after every single win and after any trophy we’re gonna win in our lifetimes. you definitely haven’t seen “insufferable” yet
I'm an arsenal fan but I seriously hate how active both the club and fans are on social media as if we're somehow the best club in all of history, it just gets embarrassing sometimes and I understand the hate we get. every big club has this but arsenal are definetly the worst
It is embarrassing when the club and players are posting saying “believe” as if we can’t lose the league when city were already top of the table😭
As a Newcastle fan, imo nothing can override that feeling of bad-blood with Arsenal, Liverpool etc. So of course we want City to win the league as we have no bad-blood whatsoever really.
The season isnt 5months long, it didnt start in 2024
They pushed city to the limits, agreed. But if u lose 6 points to villa, lose to fulham and then expect to win the league against Pep, its not going to work out.
Rodri was right, it was a mentality thing, good result to get a draw vs city but they didnt even try to win.
As a Man U fan would have still rather Arsenal won it
yh same
That actually makes sense, Utd fans hate arsenal but not as much as they hate city or Liverpool. I don’t like Man Utd but I’d take them winning the league any day over Chelsea or spurs as they are London rivals
I don't see people complaining that Man United won 13 Prems in 20 years under Ferguson, why do they complain with City's current dominance?
They would prefer Wimbledon to win over arsenal
Oh no doubt 😂
the fans still hold on to the unbeaten season they had years ago, if they win anything big it would be the only they’d talk about for another 20 years
yes we celebrate our club's history and we are proud of the stuff we have won?
So then why do united fans talk of a treble won 25 years ago? Should clubs like Villa, Forrest and even Spurs not be able to talk about titles won even if they were ages ago? The invincibles might not be considered a great achievement by city or united but to us that's the single greatest feat in our clubs history.
Hi vizeh lookin handsome today
nothing new there
Cheers❤
As a liverpill fan, i feel bad for you Gunners. I know how it feels to loose the league by 1-2 points.
As a Tottenham fan, I think it’s self explanatory lol
Yeah that’s fair
as much as I don't like Arsenal fans as a Liverpool fan, I still think your fans celebrating the loss against City is a bit over. Ange was right.
@@kwanlinus6999 Yh I do agree with that. With that mentality we’ll never win anything and be “spursy”
To answer the questions in order
1. No
2. Why because I’m a City fan so I have an obvious bias 🩵🩵🩵
I rate the title Viz 😂
I love the club too much to hate it because of AFTV.
wenger should have been kicked out at least 4 years before it actually happened. he was mediocre after 2008
@@lucastanciu2567 I don't think you're being remotely factual. I don't think qualifying for UCL in all the seasons you mentioning bar 2 seasons can be remotely considered mediocre, especially considering the financial power of other teams and Arsenal's debt. And the fact that you use the word "kick out" to talk about the most legendary manager in Arsenal's history just demonstrates my point. Arsenal's fanbase is virulent.
It's more their fans that makes you hate arsenal. I don't mind city but arsenal winning the league would be the worst. Glad they bottled it again. That's how they do.
As an Arsenal fan since '02 I apologise for all the fans in the comments that are the proof why people hate us.
Palace fan here. When City wins the league, there’s no reason to care. City fans (if they exist) aren’t annoying. But Arsenal fans????? Yeah, I am overjoyed they lost the league again.
Cool but don't take it out on the players, take it out on the fans like me
@@FUTAachenMARK players did all they could imo. we mustn’t forget its been raining, though
I understand alot of them are fucking annoying good luck on next season btw if you guyd keep the players you have now you'll be a real threat
@@johnrockyryan they’re very annoying but most of my hatred is banter. If i didn’t support a London club I probably wouldn’t mind. And thanks! The future at palace is as bright as it’s ever been.
If they exist 😂
Thank you Vizeh... Arsenal did not bottle the league... they were incredible! City were just too good... its not bad for the league, it just raises the bar imo
