What a lovely block! Thanks for the free pattern and very careful video tutorial so I can see each step. I really like how you pin, Kimberly... I don't understand so many quilters' aversions to pinning. Maybe because I come from a garment-making background, I'm very used to being careful not to poke myself, but I find the level of accuracy much higher when I use pins. For the points-matching blocks, I think it's essential! ~Diana K.
I would never attempt this quilt without your fabulous square-in-a-square foundation papers! They are going to make making this beautiful quilt a breeze! Thx, Kimberly and crew
Do you have a tutorial for making the square in square block without using the foundation paper? I love it but would just like to see if I can do it without the paper piecing. Thank you for the adorable pattern and helpful videos. I always love what you put out. ❤️
Hello Tracy! Yes, you would start with a large square the size of your unfinished Square-in-a-Square unit. On top of this square, you would add smaller squares to each corner, drawing a line from corner to corner, sewing and trimming with the Corner Triangle technique
I love your teaching methods, especially lettering the pieces. Such good attention to details and accuracy makes me one to make everything that you demonstrate. Also your camera angles are perfect for seeing clearly.
Love 💕 this pattern and the tutorials are so helpful and appreciated! Thank You for always sharing Free patterns also! Gives My budget a little room for spending more at the FQ Shop, lol!
I have all the tools needed to follow this tutorial, I just need to add a few of the accessories ... foundation paper and alphabitties. I'm thinking of going through my stash and picking out some colors that match siblings' households and making table runners with just 4 units in a row with a couple of borders.
Where do you get your clothes or the patterns for them? They are so pretty and since the fabrics are so pretty, I’m hoping you’re probably sewing them yourself out of your lovely cottons.
Kimberly, am I wrong in thinking that the top left corner. Of this block is turned wrong? It looks looks like it should be turned to match the other four corners.
Can you please tell me - if you starch Jelly Roll strips, and if not, why. I've seem lot of comments elsewhere and would like to know the correct answer. Thank you
I like the tutorials but I wish it could also be shown without using those papers. As a begginer I would like to see it done without the paper because now Im confused 😕
Love the pattern but not a fan of all this glue & paper. Seems to making the whole thing more complicated as well as forcing us to buy more stuff just to make a quilt.
Hahaha. Kimberly you crack me up! I snow I’ll love it too! Love the gray and whit but red and white would be stunning!
Those snowflake squares are cool! I can’t wait to make this.

What 1/4" foot do you use? Is it a Juki foot or another brand?
Can a jelly roll work for this? What about changing colors for each block instead of the same?
Is there a way to make it bigger? Like twin size? I’m relatively new to quilting and not sure how to modify patterns to make them the size I want
Wow, seams like a lot of steps for the very first tiny block.I normally make most of your quilts. But I think I’ll pass on this one.
Good luck ladies!
Sew cute!
Where do you get your clothes or the patterns for them? They are so pretty and since the fabrics are so pretty, I’m hoping you’re probably sewing them yourself out of your lovely cottons.
Hello Gail! Kimberly buys her tops from Talbots.
This is an amazing patterv
Kimberly, am I wrong in thinking that the top left corner. Of this block is turned wrong? It looks looks like it should be turned to match the other four corners.
what stitch length do you use for applying borders?
Hello Peggyisme! Kimberly uses a 2.0 stitch length for borders.
Did you just use one color for the snowflake from the collection?
Hello Denise! Kimberly used the sku's from the Snowflake Day Quilt Kit - bit.ly/3gsEwZV
@@FatQuarterShopTX thank you 😊
Does it matter if you cut paper with your rotary cutter?
Hello Greer! Using your rotary cutter to cut paper will cause the blade to dull faster.
Can you please tell me - if you starch Jelly Roll strips, and if not, why. I've seem lot of comments elsewhere and would like to know the correct answer. Thank you
The correct answer is whatever works best for you. Try it. Don't enjoy it, don't do it again. If you do, keep on doing it.
Hello Liz! Kimberly does not recommend starching jelly roll strips because the fabric will shrink.
Hi Liz, I do starch them, just be aware that they shrink a little across WOF.
I like the tutorials but I wish it could also be shown without using those papers. As a begginer I would like to see it done without the paper because now Im confused 😕
What other colors would you suggest?
Hello Angela! We recommend using any colors that would make you happy.
I really like this pattern however I wish the instructions were also written for people who do not have the square in a square paper.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🌲🎅🏼🤶🏼🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Love the pattern but not a fan of all this glue & paper. Seems to making the whole thing more complicated as well as forcing us to buy more stuff just to make a quilt.
Hello Kath! Kimberly is showing the methods that she uses but it is not required to make the quilt.
