This is an advanced level repair not recommended for those lacking considerable cell phone repair experience. Later releases of this model include some glue around the edges of the back panel making it even more difficult to remove without damage.

Mike, I have to say that your video WORKS! Yes, I tore apart my M7 this morning in order to replace the screen/digitizer, camera, and battery. I sourced a screen/digitizer (top half) on Amazon, and the battery and camera from eBay. With your video, I was able to perform this phone surgery with success!!! My only comment is, to start by popping out the volume control toggle bar, and that give you an open space to begin inserting the pick and spreading the back away.
To anyone wanting to service this phone, TAKE YOUR TIME, HAVE PATIENCE. This phone is a PITA. Also, LABEL AND NUMBER THE SCREWS YOU REMOVE. Each screw has its own specific placement.
hi I have been repairing cell phones for a little while now and I use your videos a lot just to see what kind of difficulty is ahead if I am doing a phone ive never done before. your videos are always dead on and I always know what to expect, however in the case of the m7 I checked out another video and the guy in that video is using a heat gun and saying there is glue holding the back of the phone on. ive seen people before mess with heat guns and overheat the phone causing the plastic to warp and the phone wont go back together correctly. just wanted to say thank you for that shot in the beginning of the video showing the clips on the side of the back case so I now know not to use a heat gun. you make great videos. just wanted to say thank you.
Thanks I'm glad that you found it helpful. As a rule of thumb I always tell people that heating any surface on a phone to about 100 degrees F should not cause any damage. During the summer a lot of phones get hotter than that just by being outside. I saw the other video that you are referring to and cringed while I watched it. My concern was the same as yours. He could easily damage the internals by heating up the phone so much.
Go Cell Phone Repair yes its intersting with the heat gun, maybe cause my htc was bought second hand and it was already opened once i didnt need one, just my tools and a lot of calm and did it with no problems on the display and the touchscreen.
I know this is old but Thank You! This is the most realistic disassemble I have seen so far. I've seen many. Very Good and again Thank You for showing how hard it actually is to remove the back cover.
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this video, I previously thought i'd try to replace the touch screen which was the only thing originally gone, but cracked housing also, so wanted to purchase mid plate & back. So attempted to remove touch screen and fluffed my LCD. But bought a Midplate/Touc/Lcd all assembled and watched your video from roughly 03:00 till 06:30 and followed it step by step and change it. I even changed the colour from white to Black...With your dissemble & Reassemble video's....The feeling of satisfaction is when it boots at the end....Thank you so much Go Cell Phone Repair....
lee rob Awesome. I'm glad that you were successful. As you already know this isn't an easy one.
Thanks for the guide. I actually discovered that there is indeed a way to disassemble HTC One without damaging the Display and glass, only very minor scratches on the bottom casing. The key is just to start opening from TOP. there are 4 latches: 2 on each side of the power/IR port, 1 right beside the audio jack and 1 at the right corner next to the front camera. Once this top side is pried open, the next is the right side (the side with volume rocker). There is no need to pry open the left side.
Hello, thanks for the video, 5 stars. I have a tip for separate the display from the back cover without damaging the two components. I used on a M7 phone guitar picks. I used diferents thickness of picks. To insert i used the most till then the others more thick. You must do it with a lot of patient and slowly. I take about an hour to do it, but in the end a have the result that i wont. Don't damaged any component. Again, thank you very much for the video.
great video mate, have done a few tear downs myself and I think if you take your time, mark the screws and have a rough idea of where you may have adhesive it's actually not that hard. The only thing I'd say is to not rush and make sure you have everything you need before you commit.
Good video.
Thank you for this video, it always helps to know, where the cables are to know where to be careful - just replaced the battery and everything's still working and looking as new (and I have the Black model).
I strongly SUGGEST ATM card method for opening. You may need a knife to get a small hole to put the card in but in ATM card way you risk WAY less to damage screen, cables or housing as it has no sharp edges and in stress, it peels of, not damages things around.
I just replace the USB charging port on my HTC ... Thanks for your video... It helps a lot... My HTC is working again..
Congrats. This is not an easy phone to work on.
did u scratch anything ?
I haven't run into that problem on this phone but with other models replacing the camera will often fix that kind of issue. It's possible but hard to know for sure until you try. If it is still under warranty I'd probably try filing a claim.
You helped me alot, Thumbs up!
But a note, I repaired a Google Edition HTC ONE, and it was a little bit different. I commented on that on your reassembly video.
the small metal thingie on the bottom, is supposed to go under the black plastic, and not over it, on my device, for some reason.
Worked great! That is until I damaged one of the ribbon cable connections, the small black gate did not lift up, the white base lifted. At 5:22 - 5:30 is where I mistakenly damaged the phone. Phone will now need to be replaced and I'm out the cash for the new body. Live and learn, make sure you guys are paying VERY close attention, aside from that I got the phone completely apart and back together. Makes a great looking paperweight.
Maybe I am one of the lucky ones but I managed to open my HTC one M7 without too much difficulty. I was also able to replace the microphone and usb connector PCB without fully disassembling the complete phone. Just had to remove 5 screws around the microphone PCB, Lift the main PCB a little and the microphone PCB came out quite easily. Two connector have to be first removed,
No worries man I just don't want people to get the wrong idea. When we fix phones they have to look like new when we finish or else we will have to fix them again. HTC is rumored to have a special tool which is used to remove the rear housing but I have yet to see one. If I do, or come up with an easier method I will definitely update the video.
thanks man. for forst minute of the video. open it with a same tool without breaking sides of the back plate. started from right side little bit lift from bottom to top. then pull up bottom and top and left side just came out easy.
Awesome. Yeah I recently got one open the same way but didn't have the camera going at the time. Also I removed the volume buttons first and that kind of helped a bit.
Growing up as a child I liked to take everything apart to see how it worked not always able to get it back together this use to annoy my mother because I'd do it to even my bran new toys and stuff I was only kid I knew who took apart match box cars as a adult I find I still like to take stuff apart again not always able to get back together I do have some computer and cell phone repair knowledge enough to get into trouble this video takes place of that wanting to see how my new evo ticks thanks
Sounds like something might be grounding improperly or getting partially disconnected. I would try gently putting pressure on different areas of the phone with the back off. Also check all of the connections near the charging port. Ideally you should be able to reproduce the symptoms and figure out where its coming from. If not try covering the inside of the rear housing with a non conductive material like masking tape and see what happens.
the other video should have watched your video. he just heated up the cover and pried it off. I had no idea what i was watching. You took the time to mark the cover. nice
Thankyou so much for your great input in this video. This is the best video so far for HTC One M7 Full Disassembly .
Hello. I'm having a problem I'm hoping you can steer me in the right direction . I followed your videos which were great thank you.
The problem I'm having is when I put the back case on and plug in to charge it comes up with the slow charge warning and my laptop does not find it also.
If I take the back cover off both these problems go away. Do you have any idea what I have done wrong ?
Cheers
Easiest method: force your fingernail into the small gap at the top between the aluminum face and plastic band. Pry slightly, insert any card you like: atm, gift card, anything and work it around the corner. Work it down the side of the phone and it pops right out after about three minutes. Easiest disassembly I've come across.
Do I have to heat the back cover housing with the heat gun in order to remove the back cover? Thankyou for the great video.
Thanks for the fast response . I'll give your suggestions a try. Thanks
I just removed the back off mine to replace the SIM reader, and it definitely had some form of adhesive around the edges and a few dabs across the dock port assembly. I did it without damaging the back or screen though :)
where did you get a new sim card reader? I just recently broke the screen along with the sim card reader it seems :/
Ebay, Around $12 Australian. Probably good that you broke the screen, because the SIM reader sits under it. Luckily I was able to heat my LCD and lift it out.
The only time breaking the screen is a good thing lol
Sorry, I'm a bit slow :) If you are replacing the screen, the new one will come with a SIM card reader installed.
Good job. I have a customer with the exact same situation. Completely ate up the frame, housing and ripped the lcd off
Thanks and good luck. This phone requires a lot of patience.
It is possible you just have to be very careful. In the video I was working on one that a customer tried to remove himself. I'm not sure what he used to try opening it.
yeah just tried doing a glass only repair using the same method used on the galaxy & iphone.. the lcd's black polarized plastic is REALLY stuck to the glass and you will most likely rip it when trying to seperate the glass from it.
I wish I knew what that tool was. My guess is that it inserts down the sides so it is probably long and flat. If I find out what it is I will update the video. Also when I get back to the shop if I have a back panel available I will post better photos on my website.
I used a flat side of a razer blade to pry it open. Did minimal damage to the plastic
Thanks for the video, it helped me successfully repair my faulty microphone without destroying the case. Mine did have a little bit of adhesiveness around the edge of the case but it was still quite easy to separate after freeing the clips on the side. Everything works just fine but, I found a small plastic piece sitting on my desk after i re assembled it. Its black plastic, kind like a little elbow, no more that 1/4 inch long. Any idea were it fell out of? I popped it back open and couldnt find any were that it would fit. Its not really a big deal, just kind of bothers me that its not were it should be. Thanks
Does it have a very small hole in in? It's possible that the piece which routes sound to the mic for your speakerphone falls out. Try your speakerphone and check to be sure that people on the other end don't have any problems hearing you.
A warranty claim would be the best option. Regardless of where you bought the phone HTC provides a one year warranty on all of their products. If you are already having problems I would take advantage of this. If your phone is physically damaged or has been wet that is the only way your warranty will not be valid. In that case I would try a factory reset after you back up all of your data. If that doesn't work take it to a reputable cell phone repair shop. Good luck and let us know what happens.
Great video any chance of the assembly video as I've disassembled the phone but would like a guide to the assembly thanks!!
HTC One M7 Reassembly
@Matthew Nabel The back panel you can replace with different colors but when it comes to the front that's going to be a bit more difficult. Whatever those speaker covers are held on with it is some serious stuff. I haven't tried replacing them yet but maybe someone else here has.
hey man can you make a video on how to remover the speaker grils it would be very appreciated
Hey man i was wondering if there was a way to take off the speaker grills and replace them my phone is pretty dingerd up and i wanna replace all of the parts of it to give a brand new look
Very informative video, but I have no where near the patience to pull this off my self.
I was seeing what you can do to a HTC M7 that will not power on, the phone has no water damage or ever been dropped, my ultimate goal is to retrieve all of my info off of the hard drive, please get back with me as soon as possible, thank you for your time.
FYI:
the phone was charging and froze on me so turned it off and tried to turn it back on and it never did. I took it to a local repair shop and they said it was more than likely the charging port, so they "told" me they swapped out ports and it still would not power on. is there a way to retrieve the hard drive at all??
If i have bought a replacement rear case is it easy and to reduce cracking or damaging the front screen to just snap of the rear case??
You might find this useful th-cam.com/video/GNc-_UpM8Is/w-d-xo.html
some guys from htc mentioned special tool for opening this phone, do you have an idea how it works... ps makro shots of back panel clips would clear some things. thanks
If I remember correctly the mic is on the modular charging port flex. I will check tomorrow to confirm. If that's the case it's only $20 for the part but the labor will run about $50 so figure about $75 with tax and installation.
Your video was very informative and allowed me to get my LCD replaced. Unfortunately my phone is now very erratic with the new LCD assembly. All the functions work fine but the touch screen is very sensitive and some of the characters will not work when the phone is vertical and others do not work when the phone is horizontal. Is this due to a defective Digitizer or is it possible I messed something up in the phone to cause this problem. The phone worked flawlessly until I dropped it and cracked the original Digitizer and replaced it with this new LCD assembly.
Thanks
From what you describe it sounds a lot like either a bad digitizer or maybe a partially connected flex cable. I would try unplugging and the touch screen and then maybe return it and try another.
Thanks. Tried reconnecting flex cables with no luck. Ordered another LCD assembly and will try that. Manufacturer agreed it was probably a bad digitizer.
Hi, I enjoyed watching both your videos very educational, I have a question about the battery? is there an upgraded battery unit that can be installed and can you give me any links to websites where I can replace the back cover and two frount face plates as I've voided my warranty with my custom viper rom and would like to convert me chassis to the red body, thank you for your time
Hey I've seen that u are replying to couple of ppl so I had a question my htc one has a problem known as abnormal reset it kills the battery and resets every now and then what should I do ?
Where the speaker "mesh" or "grill" is, you can buy replacement parts for that. I'm replacing a part and i'm thinking why not change the color while im at it, How would you go about that.
That little piece that goes over the screw hole, shown beginning at 14:00, what's that called, I need one, do you know who sells them? thanks
Can you do microphone replacement, Oreo how much would it cost?
Thank you. You helped me a lot to change my motherboard :)
At least the one series is modular in it's design.
The m8 and m9 also have 3 boards and replacing a broken usb port for example costs a few bucks since you don't need a whole mainboard or deal with soldering and stuff.
What kind of glue is that white glue that they use for paste the screen to the edges?
Hey I have a silver HTC one unfortunately while placing the charging cable in a hurry I slid the sharp cable and now there is a black scratch under the screen on the speaker . What should I do ? is there a way to replace just that small piece under the screen or should I but an entire front portion ?
how much do you charge? I have the digitizer and the camera. Because I need the camera definitely need replaced.
Hey bud I have a question, my front camera has a lot of dust build up inside the lens, what's the best way to get inside the lens?
Hi
Brilliant video & very helpful thanks. Have a Question for you if you could help me with please, I have taking my htc one apart successfully to transfer everything over to a new LCD+Digitizer & housing but how do you transfer the SIM card tray over? Or does the new middle frame come with new one as I haven't received it yet?
Many thanks
If you are talking about the tray that plugs in from the outside of the phone then I would recommend using the old one as it has the serial number printed on it. As far as where the tray goes that should still be intact attached to the logic board. Let me know if that wasn't the answer that you needed. By the way the ones that we buy do have new sim trays so I just set them aside in case I need one later.
use a fan in proper temperature degree of warms and start disjoining from sound controller swings
Hey, I kept losing concentration... is there any chance you could tell me where the antenna port is? And maybe point me out to the specific point in the video where you point it out perhaps?
It'd be really appreciated. :)
You should be able to find a cell phone repair shop that can perform this repair.
Hey I have a silver HTC one I've scratched the portion under the screen (speaker) is there anyway I can replace just that small portion ogle do I have to buy entire front portion ?
Hi can you help me?
I can change the back camera for another that I buy in eBay.. and it is easy or hard level. My camera has the purple tint issue.
If I replace it will be working good?
Thanks for the video. I wonder if you have opened the phone before you start making the video? I was going to replace the battery but when I tried to open mine, there was no way to get in between that lcd and the back panel edge. I have destroyed a plastic pry tool, then I also tried it with a screwdriver and an old knife. All I managed to do was destroying the plastic in the area I am dealing with, but freaking thing just does not pops up. I wonder if mine is glued inside? Any suggestions?
This is my least favorite phone and a pain to open. If it had been opened previously it would be a lot easier but they seem to vary a bit from one to another as far as difficulty in removing the rear panel. There may be some glue inside. I wish that I could give you some tips but it's just a matter of patience and persistence with this one IME.
Hi! and thanks for this video.
I´ve changed my upper speaker and the sound is the same as before. It´s scratching when you turn up the volume.
Is it possible that ´s not the speaker?
The bottom one is alright.
The membran from both seems to be ok. Can not imagine that a new speaker is broken...
Thanks!
Very informative video. helped me tons to open the back panel. First time i'm doing this and it got done flawlessly. But my problem is that my wifi keeps saying turning on but never does. After a while it says error. Is this a hardware or a software problem?
Tough to say. I haven't seen that before but is it by chance a CDMA model like from Verizon or Sprint? Those are particularly prone to problems especially after repair.
I had this same problem, it was because of those two cables from top board (black & blue) was mixed. After I changed those around, wifi started to work.
Thnx for the prompt feedback. But i watched the vdeo and i saw the 2 cables were in the same or correct position. Thinking it maybe hardware. Thanks alot for your input guys.
If your screen already is broken and you're about to replace it, I suppose you dont have to be as careful whilst taking of the back, or am I wrong?
My HTC one m7 top speaker sounds distorted as if it burst, just after I cleaned it with a toothbrush. Or is it because of playing music with the volume at the loudest and is there anything I can do to fix it?
I just disassembled my one, and i used a guitar pick to seperate the glass from the back case. no damage!
Cool. I am going to try some different procedures once I come across another broken one.
Hi I'm having a problem, the rear camera is not working after I have replaced the screen. The camera app does not open, I know this is not a software problem as other apps such as instagram and snapchat don't work for the rear camera also. I have taken it apart and put it back together several times
Hello. Thanks for this video, no skipping, great explanations. Mine is from Verizon, and I need to replace the LCD/digitizer, but I'm not sure if the 801e's is compatible with mine. Tried searching for the 6500 assembly, but came up empty. Any advise will be really appreciated.
Thx
To the best of my knowledge they should be compatible. I would just be sure to test everything before you put the back panel on.
Go Cell Phone Repair thanks for the quick reply and the info. I wasn't sure because in the One X they use 3 different brands, and they're supposed to be incompatible 1 to the other and I didn't know if they did the same on this one. Thanks
Jose Santana No problem and good luck. I don't know anyone who likes working on this phone.
I just watched this and granted I've never taken one apart but if your throwing out the old case could you not just use a dremel tool with a cut off blade and carefully run it right at the 4 clip mounts then open it rather then trying to pry it open? Just curious
I suppose you could if you are very careful not to cut off any of the inner part that holds the clips and don't cut into components and damage them. To be honest I've been tempted with a few that were particularly stubborn but haven't chanced it yet.
If there any memory car slot or somethig? If so where is located? I don't know if I can increase the memory by putting an other micro SD.
Just pulled my one apart, blowed a speaker and I'm gonna have to replace it there is glue in there just so you know it's a rubber base glue kinda like window caulk in a vary small amount around where the white bezel meets the LCD area I used a guitar pick and an old credit card and was able go get it a part without a metal instrument I did however damage the volume button area of the rear case but I have ordered a new one so no big worries... Nice to know I can cancel my insurance now and just fix it my self when and if it breaks
Go Cell Phone Repair great video :) I have a question: A week a go I drop my HTC M7 and since then the wi-fi signal got really weak. what part do you think that should be re-place in order to fix my cell phone?
Awsome tutorial! I cracked my screen a few days ago :( I ordered a new display/housing and everything already. One question, do you know the size of the screws inside the HTC One? I'm looking for a good magnetic screw driver for projects like these.
Hello Go Cell Phone Repair ,
I found your videos extremely helpful and replaced my screen assembly. After completing the operation I found that vibration motor was not working and the SIM card is not detected. I'm fine with the vibration not working, but how can I get the SIM card reader working? I (very carefully) reopened the phone the make sure everything was connected properly. I even took the SIM reader out of my old display assembly and plugged it into the phone and still no beans. Is this a fairly common problem? How do I resolve it?
The only time that I have run into that problem was when the connector wasn't properly attached. Were you able to test it before the phone was disassembled?
Yes. It worked fine before the phone was disassembled.
I have problems with microphone on my HTC one m 7 mini if you are able please post video how to fix this problem it would be appreciable
Assuming that you have the HTC One M7 you can expect to pay about $240 with parts and labor.
Great vid. I wonder if you can help me. I bought a faulty HTC One on eBay, I need to know where the Liquid Damage indicators are apart from the ones on the flash. Thanks in advance. Help will be appreciated.
Bea G That I'm not sure about. If I come across another one I'll try to figure it out.
Hi
Thank you for the comprehensive video. i followed all your instructions and replaced the LCD screen. after reassembly when i tried to test everything before put back the backpanel , i turned on the phone.
It vibrates and gives the HTC Boot up sound but the screen displays a salt and pepper pattern of color dots , it doesn't change at all. the phone works , when i call it , it rings . just the display is like this , i tried my old LCD screen to see whether the part was faulty but got the same result. i checked all flex cables and they look like in good shape. What do you think can be the problem? is it just a flex cable somewhere , or the main board is damaged?
It sounds like one of the above. If you've inspected the flax cables already you might want to put the board under a microscope or magnifier and go over it. If you knocked a chip off that's gonna be bad news... Did you disconnect the battery before you plugged in your old LCD? Sometimes rebooting with a battery pull might help. If I think of anything else I'll post it here.
Go Cell Phone Repair Thank you for your response. Yes i did disconnect the battery plug before using the old screen. Can it be cause by my hands static electricity? Do you know if it's possible to buy and replace the mainboard as well?
I'm sure that you could find a used motherboard if it comes to that. You'd just want to make sure that it is from the same carrier.
is it possible to fix the aout of focus issue by changing the camera
Mine i have removed the back cover without breaking the edges of the back cover.. i used plastic protractor to remove it.
Thanks for the video. It really helped taking this phone apart. I run into a situation and need some help/advice. The phone I am working on was dropped in water. After opening it, I noticed on the ribbon that connects the top board to the main board had a burn. If I plug the USB cable in, the screen does light up with the battery icon and shows its charging. I removed the ribbon for now but can't seem to figure out how to turn on the phone. I just want to get the videos/pics off the phone. If I plug into PC, it will see that something is connected and then gives error. Downloaded driver but no help. Is there a way to turn on the phone via USB port?
Not sure as I have neither worked on nor seen an M7 for quite some time. Hopefully, someone here will be able to answer your question.
How do I put everything back together after I've replaced my battery?
just done a complete remake of my phone cause my old housing was very ugly, bought a new one, the red model but something wrong happened. i have notice that it was opened before and when i unplug the display band i saw a small crack on it and guess what happened after :((:((:((. well i need another display now so im stuck with no phone for about a week or so. but the good news after a bit of cleanup my small green/orange LED in the speaker works again.
It was very helpful, Thanks!! But I ripped my volume flex cable third time. ( Anything I can try before ordering a whole top board?
There may be an app out there somewhere that will allow you to control the volume function but as far as fixing the physical buttons you will have to replace that entire board. Unusual design on this one.
Yes,sir and thanks for your help!
Hi, is it possible to change the screen only? Or its better to just do an insurance claim? Please let me know,
Forgive the delayed response. I've had a problem using this new comment system. Short answer- not in my experience. Use your insurance if you haven't already.
will you upload a video for htc desire 816 complete reassemble
Shaikh Imran If I get one for repair I will for sure.
thx mate, got my phone running again :D
Thank you for the great video, Go Cell Phone Repair. My HTC One started constant rebooting last week. I tried master reset and didn't fix it. Which part do you think is the issue? Another question: how did you put the screws in order. You put them off-camera.
The HTC One has been plagued with many problems. It could be a defective power button or moisture damage among other things. A magnetic project mat is the best way to keep your screws in order but if you don't have one a small cloth laid flat should keep them from rolling around on the table.
Go Cell Phone Repair Thank you for your assessment. I decided to pass on repair and ordered a new phone (a Moto X). Hopefully I have better luck with another fixed-battery-no-sd-card phone. Your videos are still very educative.
If anyone can answer this please do. I have two HTC m7s. One was my husband's old phone and he doesn't need it anymore. I just messed up my phone by getting milk into the top by the on button and SIM slot. It dried but is sticky inside. The phone turns on when plugged in, but keeps turning off and on again. I wish to replace my mother board into my husband's old HTC. Is this possible? Will all my data, pics, contacts, documents be on that motherboard? Is there anything easier that can be done to my phone such as an internal cleaning? What product to use for internal cleaning, rubbing alcohol?
o meu cabo flex de recarga quebrou, o conector dele não estava mais carregando, eu comprei outro cabo flex e com esse tutorial eu mesmo coloquei, mas ele não está ligando, ele ficou quase 10 meses parado, o que pode ser ?
First off thanks for the videos, you are awesome. BUT I am having a slight problem with my phone. It powers on, everything looks fine, getting service, updates, etc... But when you touch the screen NOTHING happens. I cannot manipulate the touch screen in any shape form or fashion. I have went back and checked every ribbon with no luck.
What ya think?
Thanks in advance!
If you are certain that the flex cables are seated properly then it might be a defective digitizer. They really have to be in the exact proper position though or you might run into that problem.
Hey buddy, it looks like i snapped a flex cable leading to the screen. im assuming theres no way of replacing just that flex cable? i would need to purchase a completely new screen assembly and transfer the battery + board and what not to fix it?
Not something that I would attempt especially on a screen at this price. Not impossible depending on where the cable was severed but a very difficult and time consuming task even if you have enough length from the display left to work with.
very talented man
Do u have a video on how to replace mic/charging port, I messed mine up..
I don't have a video for that specifically yet but at about 12:30 you can see where the charging port flex is located. You would have to tear it down to that point to gain access which sucks because there is a good chance of damaging your rear housing/lens+LCD. Is the phone out of warranty?
I wonder if there is a way to install a wireless charging pad that will go inside the phone, not the external stuff.
Only if they come up with a back plate that's made of something other than metal. I suppose if you have the tools and creativity maybe it would be possible to modify the panel so that the signal gets through. Otherwise you could use something the like the Put2Go system and just put a case on to hold it in place- th-cam.com/video/o08JbX08KLM/w-d-xo.html
to change only the battery stores charge 300
dls for a 30 dlls phone value
Hi do you know if it is possible to replace the on/Off button on a M7? I dropped mine this afternoon it dented it on the button. I called a place nearby and they say that you cannot even get into the unit which your above video proves you can. Im not sure its worth it but I know after watching this I can say I do not feel confident doing it myself. Thank you
+Angelina Celeste It is possible but as you saw in the video not particularly easy and will most likely destroy your back panel. Worthwhile? That is questionable. Not too many HTC phones are worth working on these days.
Ha yeah. I'm sure most technicians won't have much of a problem with this repair but HTC just crams so much stuff inside their phones that a lot of it looks like an afterthought. It's not that hard but you really have to keep everything well organized if that makes any sense.
Awsome disassembly! 2 questions, do you have the name/kind of screwdriver your using? I'm looking for a good magnetic one for projects like these. Also what type of heat gun are you using (tired of using hair dryer) :) plus they don't work well on phones. Thanks a lot.
Forgive the delayed response. I've had a problem using this new comment system. I'm using a Husky PH00 or PH000 for most repairs. I will also be adding an affordable heat gun to my website soon.
I love how Google added a speed button over the resolution because I hate watching long videos that draw me in
Hey Mike can you tell me how to do just the glass (on an M8)?
Or are you aware of anyone who has just a glass (no digitizer) replacement?
+Glen Burton I haven't done glass only on that one but all I see available seems to be glass with digitizer attached.
Opened mine in ten minutes with a plastic card.
Still have to figure out if my reboot loop issue is caused by faulty battery...
el micrófono en altavoz donde se encuentra y como se reemplaza?
No adhesive on the back....mine did have adhesive on the back and now I had to order a new backpanel, power button and speaker because of all the damn adhesive.
Also, is it possible to turn the phone on without the backpanel?
+ferdinandstrat Yes, you should always turn on the phone before putting the back panel back to check if everything's working. If it's not, fix it, because back panel only makes the phone look good, it does not have any vital function in phone system itself.
