- This vlog about Lusaka, the capital about Zambia is not at all to bring down the city. Let's just be honest... there aren't many things to do in Lusaka or places to see.

I stayed in Lusaka for 4 nights and sincerely tried to make the most of it. There is a cool rooftop bar, you can visit the Presidential Burial Site ($15 USD entrance fee), check out some monuments, etc.
The best places to visit in the city is the Kamwala Market, the bustling heart of the city. Here you will see the real Lusaka and its people. Furthermore the Kabwata Cultural Village is a very touristy place, but it the best place to buy your souvenirs when visiting Lusaka.

This is So disappointing! Having lived there for 35+ years I think you needed to be taken around by someone who knows where to take you. There is so much to do in Lusaka itself and you are not portraying a true picture of what lusaka is which is so sad. I wish you could come back and I'd be more than happy to take you around when I return back to Lusaka. I don't think he did any justice taking you around.

But he's being honest. Most of them are the oldest places in Lusaka that give a true definition of Lusaka and Zambia. We just need to up the game as Zambians and rise up to international standards. He's a tourist who has probably visited similar places in other countries, and he just did a comparison.

true. I feel offended and I'm not Zambian but my wife is and I visited Lusaka many times and always see something cool and new. Of course, Lusaka isn't Paris or Amsterdam but there is definitely more to see than the Vloger showed here.

I am very much a city boy, grew up here, but moved abroad as an adult. I went back recently for a couple of weeks vacation after a long interruption, and was delighted to see how much it grew since I left. That said, I tend to agree. I love Lusaka, but I have to admit it is not really a city for visiting, but for living. The most interesting thing here are the people - and they're the best - not the buildings or locations. You don't need a tour guide, you need friends who live there, so you can get under its skin and into its lifeblood. If you're only here for a few days, then admittedly there's not much.
I feel you! I bet when you live there you can have fun. Every city is fun actually. However, not every city is for tourists. Agreed 100% 🙌🏻

I visited Lusaka last month for two days (I'm from Canada) and really enjoyed it. I found it lively, interesting and fun. The markets and Cairo street are fascinating. I'm surprised he didn't mention the national museum (behind the statue), which I found excellent.

Welcome to my country! yep, Lusaka is not a tourist place. 😊, there's hidden gems in Lusaka but most of the crazy interesting stuff is in southern province and Northern province.

As someone that works in the tourism industry, I'd advise you to use a trained tour guide next time for you to actually enjoy Lusaka otherwise you will always be disappointed. Lusaka has so much to offer than the markets you showed you didn't see anything, such a shame.
I kind of agree with you,Lusaka doesn't really have a lot of sightseeing places,but there is a lot of fun things you could do..and of course that's if you are with someone who knows the city.

I spent a few days in Lusaka there is a bit to do if you are into cafes , rooftops and pool sides. And generally as hub as most buses to other places unfortunately require you coming back to Lusaka to connect
Yes any city in the world would appear to be less interesting if you are cheap and cheerful 😛 Lusaka is a very exciting place to be depending on what you are looking for. Visiting London would just be as boring if you only have £0.50 to spend as well 🤭
Mate, having enough money to enjoy Lusaka or any other city is the reason for the point that Lusaka is not an interesting city. A good example is that we don’t have a public park in the city centre area to be enjoyed by everyone (tourists included) for free. In my view, when enjoyment of a city is linked to having more money, then the city ceases to be interesting.

@@TravelTomTom You may have money but you just did not want to spend it well in Lusaka :) When you travel anywhere, have some open mind - you will learn more and have more fun that way. I love to travel a lot and have been to some exciting places too. Personally for me it is not when I am staying in multi story 5 star accomodation but when I mingle with the local people. There is always something postive about people and places even in the most remote places!

You needed a guide/a tour guide that's knows information about Lusaka's history and current state. People like me that have lived there for all their lives would show you everything you need to know. You need more than just one day to tour Lusaka. I hope you can do another video on Lusaka, this time with someone that knows Lusaka well. People will watch this and be misguided. we all make mistakes and I'm sure you were not properly informed. i suggest you redo this video. As you can see from the comments section there is a lot of backlash from Zambians that know Lusaka well.

@@TravelTomTom I think that you should visit more in Zambia maybe not in Lusaka for example Vicotria falls, lower Zambezi, south luamnga, kafue, Liuwa plains, kapisha hot springs. In lsuaka you could visit hero stadium, freedom statue, etc.

Nice. I have been to Zambia it's a very beautiful place. I think you covered the bad side of Lusaka. Just like if you come to America in Washington DC. If you go to Southeast DC it's really bad there. But if you to Northwest DC it's nice. Please next time you visit a country show both sides the nice and the bad.

Its disappointing to see that they are still people who take tours just to expose the bad side of a place. Of course Lusaka isn`t a tourist resort area but there are a lot of things that makes it a beautiful city. Sightseeing in Lusaka isn’t the best? Mate why didn’t you for a game drive, or go on a cheetah walk or see the lions? You can’t see one part of Lusaka and then say it isn’t the best. They are plentiful of beautiful places in Lusaka.
I lived in Lusaka over 50 years ago for a couple of years. It has changed a lot, I vaguely remembered the market, and certainly the cathedral as I lived near there. I didn't really recognise anywhere else. We used go to Munda Wanga but as I remember it was just a garden with a swimming pool, nice place to go though.

I’m sorry,but iv leaved in lusaka my whole life and I’m surprised each time I explore it because they are many beautiful places iv never known existed until recently, for example makeni, matero,Rhodespark,lusaka west and south, Mandevu,chilenje and chelston (I could go on)all have incredible history and depict a modern day lusaka
The problem was that the makers of this video focused only on the ‘town’ areas but lusaka city is so much more than just the central business district and had you taken an extensive tour rather than a basic tour, in fact,this was a textbook version tour 😂 you would understand my point which is that,it is not possible to really see and know lusaka in a day!

You clearly just woke up, decided to get on a bus to lusaka without any idea what you were going to do and asked the first person you saw walking on the street to give you a tour. You're just making my beautiful city look like its nothing but a big market. You should change the title of the video to "Why my lack of planning ruined my experience in Lusaka, Zambia".

i came to intervene, i think you got it wrong, they are actually a couple of things to do in lusaka, they are many game parks, and a couple more things.. someone listed them below not so much tho but your videos has a lot missing. also they are so much churches than mosques you can actually laugh when you see how many are so close to each other.. in my area they are about 10 to 15 churches within a 5km radius. try going to chibolya, Lusaka

You were with a wrong tour guide. Lusaka has a lot of cool places. You cannot just randomly pick someone as a tour guide and expect good results.
He should have to Bonanza or the Victoria falls or something like that because the places he went to weren't interesting at all😅😅😅

He bought a shawarma* 😭 instead of going to the matebeto close to ZSD, heart breaking... you could've even gone to the leopards hill caves or walked around the old colonial homes and looked at the architectural designs close to state house😭😭, so you basically just went to town and concluded at that's lusaka 😭😭😭you might as well have gone to mandahill and said that's the only mall we have 😭😭😭 so so sad this is horrible, are you not embarrzzed?
