If you can take emotion even rawer than here, Gary and Phil Lynott's 1985 Still in Love with You, which is on TH-cam, has it all. Phil's vocals are so clearly deeply felt, and he passed away just a few months later. Gary unleashed two solos, the first reflective and haunting, the second an outpouring of tears into the fade. Gary Moore... When you watch his concerts, look at his face during the solo. He literally tells us (his?) life story through this guitar solo, talks to us through the guitar, tears his soul and gives it to the audience... Maybe that's why he left us so early, because he relived almost every song every time he performed it.
And one more thing. A little fact: Gary was left-handed by nature, but as a child he learned to play the right-handed guitar. And he became a great guitarist.

There was just no-one who could hold a sustain like Gary Moore. Fantastic guitarist. I live in NI and to be brutally honest, I don't think he's had enough love over the years from the place he was born - when people talk about Northern Ireland musicians past and present, you hear the same names over and over (Undertones, Van Morrison, Snow patrol, etc) and I don't often see his name in there. So it was inspiring recently to hear that there are initial plans afoot to erect a statue in his honour in Belfast.
Asides from The Messiah will Come Again and Parisienne Walkways, which get a lot of reactions on YT, another great track he sung is "That Kind of Woman" (written by George Harrison). It's very catchy and upbeat and probably my favourite of his.

You *need* to hear the 1990 live performance at the Hammersmith Odeon.
IMO, the greatest live version ever. Gary died on Feb 6, 2011 and leaves a legacy that is unmatched. Search: "Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues (Live at Hammersmith Odeon) [HD]"
    Pure. Raw. Passion.
And don't miss "The Messiah Will Come Again" You will be amazed.
The man was alone at the top, (again, IMO...)

Gary Moore was a Northern Irish blues, blues rock and hard rock guitarist, composer and singer. There is an album by Gary where he played Celtic Rock. I would highly recommend Over the Hills and Far Away. You can see Gary, how fast he plays the guitar. I saw Gary Live three times and each time it was a great concert. Gary is one of the best guitarists in UK history.

Stacey, This is what's missing from a lot of music now. Masterful musicians who actually play instruments. Computers and digital programs will never replace the spontaneous human element that makes you feel the music. Always love seeing you enjoy the music just like we did hearing it for the first time!

There are a few guitarists who can not only play music, but transmit emotion with the instrument. Gary Moore, Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa and David Gilmour are some of my favorites. Plus, this is a great freaking song.

You said it Stacey he does make the guitar sing 🎸 Gary takes a simple riff and makes it soar during his solos. The band is tight allowing him to take it wherever he feels. I'm glad you got to experience this song and great performance 😊

He is among the top positions of every best-guitarist list - and if he isn't, he should be
He spanned from blues based hard rock, scratched at metal during the 80s hair band time, and returned to pure blues

He loved to play with the crowd, pausing before one of famous long notes etc. I spent a lot of my childhood in the car and my parents played Gary Moore a LOT during those long car journeys, I was lucky enough to see him live (it was one of his last performances before he died). If you love his guitar solos then I'd recommend: "The Loner (live at Hammersmith)", it's my favourite song of his and I've heard pretty much every version of it and THAT'S the best one (don't think there's video of it though, just audio)

Congratulations Stacey, you have discovered the greatest guitarist ever to walk this earth. Gary was an absolute master. I would love to see you react to Gary Moore The Messiah Will Come Again live. Here is the link:
    th-cam.com/video/7k07j7LcLqw/w-d-xo.html
A lot of people, including myself, believe that this is the greatest live guitar playing ever seen. Apparently this was Gary's 3rd encore of the evening. Just imagine, if the crowd had not kept asking for more, this would never have been captured on film!
I really hope that you will react to this.
R.I.P Gary. Your music lives on!
    Kindest regards from England.

"I wonder if there's a guitar solo" - This is Gary Moore there's always a guitar solo. One of the most amazing blues guitarists of all time, taken from us far too early. His cover of Red House is one of my favourites of all time. Also Parisienne Walkways Live. Too many great songs to list them all.
