The Lemokey L1 surprised me...

  • Lemokey is a sub brand of Keychron and today they present to us the L1! A gaming keyboard! But what makes it a gaming keyboard? Does being able to play games on it automatically qualify it to be a gaming keyboard? Or is it what's inside the keyboard that makes it a gaming keyboard? If the keyboard wishes itself to be a gaming keyboard, does it simply become one?
    BUY IT: www.keychron.c...
All of these questions are answered in this Lemokey L1 review!

5:09 Exactly. Unless you constantly bring your keyboard around or your pc is at least 2 metres away from your table (for some reason), a wireless keyboard is pretty pointless. You could argue that having a wireless keyboard on your desk gives you one less wire, but you would still have to plug it in eventually to recharge the battery unless you have wireless charging. And if you do bring it around, you would probably prefer a light plastic keyboard rather than a heavy metal one.

Ummm clearly you don't have multiple devices? It's a convenient feature. Being able to use your PC then subsequently your work laptop with a switch of a button is quick and simple. Having an option is better than having no options.

I use wireless keyboard daily since my pc is connected to TV in living room.
It’s also popular with people who use same keyboard on several PCs by just switching BT channel.
And I’m VERY disappointed that no reviewer properly tests wireless features.
    1) How good is wireless connection on distance more than 1m. Many are awful in this regard, especially full metal ones.
    2) Does it wake from sleep instantly without eating several key presses? Most keyboards don’t and it’s very annoying.
    3) Can you disable sleep mode on keyboard and how does it influence battery life?

    • @Mbloser1
      @Mbloser1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hello I have this keyboard and from what I experienced:
      1) From about 2m from my computer it still works fine. I do not have an exact time for it but the response appears instant. It is also hefty like mentioned before so you probably do not want to be moving it constantly.
2)The keyboard has a backlight timeout and a sleep mode. After 5mn the backlight turns off but any input is still transmitted. After another 5mn of inactivity it goes to sleep which does require a single button press to turn back on.
3)Unless you flash the keyboard I do not believe there is a way to turn off sleep mode. Generally I leave my keyboard turned on, I work about 8 hours a day and game for about 4 hours afterwards and only need to charge around the end of the week.
I apologize if this was not helpful.

P.S. Just to clear up the "wake up" situation - does the same keypress that you use to wake up keyboard process as keypress?
I currently use Logitech G715 and flawless wireless + not eating a single key input even when waking up from sleep are its only saving grace.
But it's soo rattly and clangy that I can't deal with it when typing, only bearable when gaming)

I know this video is old but you just got a new sub! Great explanation and humor! I've been searching all over for a good hefty 75% with a volume knob and this one was on my radar but the other reviews didn't really help. You helped me solidify my choice, and really any mechanical keyboard can be a gaming one. I understand HE keyboards but I function well with my thocky soundings keychron V1 in higher elo on Rainbow 6, and i do well in COD

One thing that I never hear you mention in your keyboard reviews - and I watch them all - is key rollover. N-key rollover is an absolutely crucial feature to me, and the sole (Seoul? kek) reason I, a British man, continue to play on a Korean keyboard designed for Starcraft. Is it just something all modern keyboards have? Am I too much of a boomer? If not, I implore you, please mention it in future reviews

This is a brilliant video for highlighting why 'hobbyist/enthusiast/custom' mechanical keyboards are unattractive to the mass market of gamers.
You want a good gaming keyboard so you look towards the custom scene only to be faced with QMK/VIA spaghetti code, north/south facing LEDs, no BIOS mode, etc.
It's sad because custom mechanical keyboards can sound and feel so great. But, they s u c k for anything except productivity and typing tests.
