Awesome videos! I got my father's 2007 toyota matrix M-Theory edition 5 speed after he passed. Spent all winter slowly after work breaking down the front suspension & replacing stuff. Even bought a new pair of struts thinking that was the issue. All your videos are on topic & right to the point. I couldn't be any more thankful
My mounts came in the other day and thanks to your video I'm gonna do the job myself. I'm sure the neighbours will hear me cussing and talking to myself but I'll end up getting it done. I have the tools and now the know how. Thanks.
Thanks in large part to your videos as guides, I was able to change all four mounts, exhaust manifold gasket and timing chain tensioner in less than 5 hours! Just wanted to say thanks!
I just changed my front and rear mounts. Got a good improvement, but still shakes a little. Pontiac Vibe 2008. It's to be expected from these cars. Thanks for the videos, it helped a lot.
I have a matrix myself got a good deal on it with 185k miles around 210k it started this issue...thanks for the series all your how to vids really helped out a lot!
I believe I have the exact same issue. When I start it up I hear a clunk and especially when I put it in reverse I hear the same clunk. Even when I slow down I hear it and can feel it in the steering wheel(I assume from when the car is downshifting). But I got under it and had my wife switch it in and out of gear and sure enough the whole thing moved. Doing the repair this weekend and I’m gonna have your videos ready. My first big DIY. Wish me luck!!
Thanks for the videos about to do this on my 2004 Pontiac vibe has 236,000 miles on it your video series here is going to be quite helpful so thanks for putting it out
I’m working on my sisters matrix it was in bad shape….. all 4 engine mounts, door handles, intake manifold, transmission fluid, spark plugs, ignition coils, valve cover gasket, power steering fluid, brake fluid, exhaust manifold, battery terminals…. I hole I don’t find anything else wrong I didn’t all that in 2 days
good video thanks. But do you know if the engine mount are still good? Because i read a lot on internet of people telling its really important to put OEM engine parts and the jobber and rock auto one are so cheap that they break after 6 mounth. thanks
Great series...I watched all of them. I'm thinking about getting one of these cars myself...do you know of any other common issues this model has? Again, great series!
As far as I know they are pretty reliable. Not too difficult to work on for a diy mechanic. A little bit of vibration is to be expected on this model though. If you can drive a manual I'd recommend finding one. Much smoother than the auto and more fun to drive.
@@SensatiousHiatus , I own a 2005 Toyota Matrix XR (automatic). Original motor and transmission, actually most of everything is original. I've got 230K miles on it, I put 180K of them on it myself. A great reliable car, I love it. Great fuel economy (28 city/35 hwy).
B4G3L5 Sounds like you’ve got a good one...I’m gonna wait a couple months until after this virus passes, then pull the trigger on getting one as I think. 🤘
Great videos!! I'm doing this on my 2005 Toyota Matrix this weekend. Long overdue!! I can't find a video on the transmission mount replacement, did you not film that one? Thanks for your help, wish me luck!!

They worked up until the car was wrecked. They seemed to be good quality.
Thanks hands on I'm doing the same job next weekend. Where did you get the parts from?
ebay

How are the parts holding up?
No complaints so far.
Was there any rattling or clunking when driving going over bumps?
No, it just felt buzzy. It did improve with the new mounts but didn't completely disappear.
Where did you purchase your motor mounts?
I got them on ebay, sorry I cant remember the vendors name.
