    I’m with you, don’t care what battery platform as long as the tool works for me. My van is full of red/black and yellow/black. I’m a plumber, started off a dewalt only guy several years back but Milwaukee caters to our trade so it was hard to stay loyal to dewalt. I carry both M12 and M18 but the M12 line are more suited for my line of work.

    I’m about to get the Milwaukee m12 fuel multi tool I’ve have the dealt brushless but what I hate is the vibration ends up damaging the area where the battery attaches to the tool and the gap between the battery and tool starts getting bigger and the issues you found with the dewalt are what I hav e come across. I’ve also had to of them and both have had the same issues so Milwaukee here I come x

    I have two multitools, a M12 Fuel Milwaukee I just got, and an almost new Worx 20V W697. The power of the M12 is almost the same as the 20V Worx! I have a friend who is a tool nut, and he had a bunch of them, so I tried all the cordless ones. I already had Worx 20V, Milwaukee 12V, and Bosch 12V tools, so I didn't want to get started with any more battery forms. I was pretty shocked how great the M12 ended up being. I liked the Dewalt's variable speed trigger, but other than that, I liked the Worx just as well. The M12 was an easy pick to get with the free bare tool offer. I got another M12 screwdriver so I have two, one for home and one for my RC tool bag.

    As much as I hate to admit this, you are correct...of course. The issue, or difference with the DeWALT is the distance between the blade and the linear center of gravity of the tool. That added 3/4" transmits/wastes energy and vibrations. I'll remain true to DeWALT though.

    I have been using the Milwaukee M18 multi tool brushed for 8 years 9 years now and have tried the DeWalt before and like the soft start of the variable speed trigger for doing finer more intricate cuts. I see your point on it kicking out but maybe you should have used more of a real world scenario which would have been plunge cutting a notch. I recently bought the DeWalt for doing finer cuts hopefully that wasn't a mistake but I still have my M18. I basically just bought it because of the variable speed trigger that is the one thing I liked about it but my Milwaukee doesn't have the Milwaukee you have to turn it on and precisely plunge whereas the DeWalt you can get your kerf started. I'm not really a fan of DeWalt tools I have used a few of them and broke them by using them how I normally use my Milwaukee. I think they are a bit weaker and break easier.

      @@hammerandhome I have a good amount of M12. The hacksaw is terrible, meaning the battery issue. The saw I love for drywall light duty work. Especially over head work gets frustrating either stopping or popping out and falling. Been that way day one. Other tools I don’t have that problem with. Although all milwaukee m12-18 the batteries fit very loose. And eventually they have problems wearing out.

    Never the less I need one and it looks like red for me.
    Most of my saws drills nail guns are Dewalt.
    The best performer is the 18 gage cordless nail gun.
    I simply did not want a mixed bag of batteries.
    I can seamlessly go from one tool to the other without looking for the other batteries.

    In my opinion, the Dewalt Atomic series should crush all other tools on the market including their own. Especially the batteries.

  • @felishiadarling

    Also…I know careful thought is put into creating a new line of tools before manufacturing and testing them. There’s NO WAY these ppl didn’t discuss every aspect beforehand. Isn’t this where the engineers improve the tools efficiency? That’s the idea, right? So my puzzlement is where I cannot believe they didn’t experience the same frustrations your demonstrating here. So HOW THE H*ll dis they say - ok it is great. Instead of going back to the drawing board. SMH - Shenanigans are afoot!
    Thanks for this eye opener. Tools are way too expensive these days to not know and buy a piece of junk.

    I fully agree with you.
    In my opinion there are at the present time (Jan 2022) two multitools which are far much better than all other, both being very stable (very little vibrations) and fast:
    - on the cheap side, the Milwaukee M12 FMT (ideally with the 6.0 Ah battery) , super in size and weight, with own lighting, but no automatic fixing of starlock and no possibility for Starlock max
    - on the expensive side, the Festool OSC Vecturo in the set version, which set version includes unique and fantastic accessories, allowing so much precision and so many possibilities
    The ideal solution is to own both, which I do :-)
    Else, I can recommend buying at least one of the two, and avoiding all the others.

    Dewalt already has a new one coming out but trigger is so much better than the switch I just bought the brushless craftsman oscillating tool and it has a variable speed trigger my porter cable is getting retired the trigger is sooooo much better

    The atomic tool line if you contact dewalt is geared more towards diyers and the XR line is for more commercial use

    Just wanted to say I watched this video back when I was getting into building up my tool variations and mobility and this thing is seriously so damn good. I have two now and the productivity I get out of these lil guys is wild! Can't believe i took so long to get rid of my old corded. Makes me appreciate the capabilities these m12's though!

    Thank you. just switched to dewalt for my 18v gear for more hopefully reliability over milwaukee. milwaukee have a better range but dewalt seem to be more solid. BUT dewalt have some poor designs and almost no small range in the 12v gear compared to milwaukee and since i have some 12v milwaukee gear i was trying to decide which multi tool to get. think ill go milwaukee.

    Yeah I can confirm dewalt confused everyone with two Xr models and atomic version
    I assume they should have another one in the works cause variable trigger simply is just a very poor option for a tool like this; their RD department should recognize that no one wants to micro manage a tool since there’s no need for a dead man’s lock on it

    I have the fuel m12 too, and love it…I also got a deal on the ryobi brushless multi too…believe it or not the ryobi does a really good job too. Definitely feel the vibration a bit more than the Milwaukee but it has the power and easy to control. But I love the m12, and pretty much any of the m12 line I’ve been very happy with

    Which blade brand model you use on the Milwaukee and how long it last on the daily or average user task jobs you have done ?

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i have so many different blades i wouldn't be able to tell you, but if its a wood blade and i dont hit any nails, it will last a very long time. I use a lot of Milwaukee blades mostly. I used a wood blade for a couple months with high use on framing.

  • @MistAtsiM
    @MistAtsiM ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the reason why it skips out is because of the easy blade change. The spring itself causes slight flex to it.

      If the m12 is twice as fast as the Dewalt 20v how do you figure the M18 will do. Lmao

  • @brianf9619
    @brianf9619 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Red CHINESE one is Brand New , the Dewalt came out at least 4 years ago , so is it really a big surprise the Chinese one beat the Dewalt ....DeWalts 12v multi-tool is just as fast , but about an inch smaller ....

    Home depot is selling M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool Tool only, I notice on your tooll there is a light. The HD version on sale now does not have a light. Have they changed models? I can't find the HD model # sorry.

    • @dizdizzle2
      @dizdizzle2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this question is ten months old so hopefully you have figured this out. If not. The M12 with a light in this video is the FUEL version (model: 2526-20) brushless. The one without the light is the older/original model.

    The thing with Milwaukee is that they've skimped on the quality of their internal parts-while keeping their prices sky-high still. While dewalt is always consistent. You don't even know if the milwaukee tool will even work out the box or not. And I know others who've reported the same thing. Milwaukee tools are overpriced and questionable quality. Btw the porter cable oscillating tool blows both out the park. PC is owned by Dewalt also.
