Tip 1: Set your vertical FOV to 0.6 or 0.7 and horizontal FOV to 0.9 from the Oculus Debug Tool. You can almost double your resolution this way. Tip 2: If you have a low end GPU, just disable post processing and Single Pass Stereo from CSP VR Tweaks. Game becomes so light this way.
There's also VR tweaks in the shaders patch menu. Making some changes there can give you an FPS boost. Assetto Corsa runs well in VR, but the main issue is some mod tracks or mod cars are poorly optimized and can cause stuttering compared to the official Kunos content.

Link cable is nice, but if you have a nice router Virtual Desktop is next level, you can have stuff like snapdragon supersampling, SSW and most of all hand tracking which works with Assetto Corsa (and of course you are wire free)

bro if I use these settings, can I also improve the gameplay on pc with steamVR? Hi, would you mind confirming a few things for me please....new to VR, never owned one but im a long time sim racer so im about ready to take the plunge and try something different to my triples for that extra immersion....Kit wise, i plan to use the link cable if it does a better job for sim racing, does this negate the need to buy the headset with the extra battery pack or will i still need it? I presume the cable charges as you play so it cant run out and therefore no need to buy the charging dock either right? Will i need to the two handheld controller things? Finally, would you advise buying the elite strap? Thankyou
Hey and welcome 👋🏻 Firstly I'd be super interested in your opinions on VR vs triples. I've never had the space so would welcome your thoughts. So the Meta link cable doesn't keep the headset charged. It will drain slower but will eventually run out. I would purchase a powered link cable. You essentially plug one end to a USB 3.x port on yor PC and the other to the headset. In the middle of the cabling there's a power box. You take the original Meta USB-C cable and plug one end into this box and the other into a mains socket. I would seriously save your money and not buy the Elite strap. I bought that too and then very quickly found it still not super comfortable and bought the Bobo S3 which is a very similar price (may even be cheaper) and is not only super comfortable but comes with a battery pack that does keep the headset charged and a cooling fan too. You don't need to buy the controllers for SimRacing. I would only recommend those if you ever plan to play standalone games. I use the hand gestures to launch things. Let me know how you get on. 👍🏻

Same. Only oculus setting works, not openvr. My image isn't great and this seems to be the only difference from this great tutorial. I wonder if this is the cause?
What all do you have on in Custom patch settings? I have a 2080, and can get at least 72fps. If you haven’t already figured it out, it takes some time to get the settings right. lol
Iv just moved over to VD after getting a better router and it's been amazing. Setting the computer to render half the frames and the headset to do the rest gives me such a fps boost iv been able to ramp everything else up. Running on a 3060ti btw
when you clicked, enable the quest link it went to a window screen, you pulled it off and put it in test mode and when you went back it was full screen, mine is still just showing like i'm looking at a large screen... how did you get it to switch to vr mode instead of it still looking like a big screen :(
my head in game with vr on doesnt like shake in the sense that it doesnt follow my actual head shakes rotations etc. It's like stuck in one place but will rotate to where i look but withotu jitters. I would like the jitters and the ability to rotate.

@gundam0039 I’m running a 4090 with an I9-14900k and yes the bitrate and what you can set it to will depend on your PC. The default value of 0 is around 150Mbps from memory.

It does just very buggy can’t bind you’re vr camera reset and things like that’s without content manager it’s a pain but promise content mod is worth it just did it and hills are crazy fun to drive on now
You can yes if you have good WiFi. They recommend WiFi 6 which I don’t have but I’ve always had a cable connected to my VR headset for years so I’m used to it. Let me know how you get on 👍🏻

I joined the CSP Discord server like you suggested and grabbed the pinned document. However I had 2 questions/concerns that I'm hoping you can help with. 1) The AC settings document is dated 2019. Do you know if it's been updated since then? 2) The heading of document is "AC VR Settings for Samsung Odyssey+" Were you able to use those high or ultra settings pretty much exactly? I'm looking for guidance because I believe my setup is pretty similar to yours. I'm on a 13900K/4090 with a Meta Quest 3. Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
Yes for your CPU and your VR headset I would use the Ultra settings. In fact, I would recommend copying mine shown in the video and see how you get on. Let me know how you get on. 👍🏻

Thank you so much for putting this video together. I've been putting off setting up Assetto Corsa for years and finally got around to doing it through your videos. All set up and ready to go on Quest 3. Question: I'm hitting 90 FPS on practice or when the other cars level out on the grid. But I'm near 45-50 FPS at the start of the race when all the cars are bunched together. Are you hitting 90 FPS the entire race beginning to end irrespective of number of cars?

Only 2 thhing you messed up that needs a bit more explaining :) When you said to turn off Anisotropic F. in CM since it is better if GPU takes that load (which is correct) you didn't mentioned that it must be then enabled in Nvidia Control panel and adjusted there, correct? And at the end you mentioned Max Bitrate and to increase in 100 increments and to test.... Test for what exactly? What to look for? What are the benefits going higher or lower? and most importantly how to know if something is actually better or worse? Like drop in frames, stuttering, resolution drop etc? Kinda super important but missed completely :) Especially since if default is at around 130 and max is 500 and hacked max is 950 while our theoretical link max is at 2.0-2.5 Gbps thru link cable, I am asking myself why would they set it to 130 by default and limit it to 500 max? Hope you can answer since I am trying to get the max out of Q3 and in ACC it look like dog shiat even with all the settings adjusted... Car interior looks great but track and anything after 10m is just a mess xD (and I have my Q3 at 90 or 120Hz and 1.5x res....) Will test AC with what I learned from your video and hope that at least AC will be good since I know UE4 is also bad in VR :)
How do I see the full screen, for proper VR with head movement etc? All I can see through the quest link is what looks like a virtual monitor in the middle
Press the left handed start button on the vr controller. I had the same thing, its just showing you the screen of desktop one so if you press start it will close that and the game should be playing

Hi, do you know is there anyway to set the brightness with CM, mine is a bit dark in the interior, outside view is fine, only the interior not as bright as yours in this clip. I set my vr brightness all the way up but still bit dark for me, please help, thank you
When this has happened to me in the past it's either been the Car VAO's or the ppFilter. Have you tried changing the ppfilter as that's quick and easy?
The only VR Racing i do is on Gran Turismo Sport on my PS4Pro, so yeah, the quality of the image is not very good, is pixelated but i can compromise that for the sake of being in the car which is by far the best experience i ever had. I am thinking on buying a VR Headset for my PC to try in Assetto Corsa, problem is, my PC is on the low end range in terms of VR. I did run the Steam VR Bench once and said it's just about VR Ready, but that means in my opinion that is not realy good for VR and i need a better spec. So i will have to delay the PC Build and VR Headset.
Hey man hope you’re doing well i am connecting my VR via quest link and when I try to get into an online server my vr starts tripping out. It takes about 8 min to get into the server then it just crashes. I have a 3060 I7 16 G of ram. Single player servers work but online are hell and I have to cross my fingers when I try to get in. My in car view seems fine apart from the speedometer are a bit blurry and the reds are too. My problem is that the foreground in the distance is quite pixilated as are the other cars when they are up ahead. Can I clear this up?
WOW this is a great video! I have a Varjo Aero headset, what are your recommandation of graphics settings with the Varjo Aero headset? My graphics settings in AC are not very clear and crisp compared to ACC. In AC with your ultra setting the FPS is not stable and bounces between 80-90 and the VRAM on my 4090 GPU is only using 8Go out of 24Go. And in ACC the FPS is stable at 90 and the VRAM is at around 20Go. So my settings in AC are definitely not optimized to get the maximum resolution out of AC! Please help!
For some reason, I can see the game in front of me in vr, however, when I look around , the view doesn’t move with my head and I can only see the game right in front of me.

If you've got good WiFi then no you don't. Your PC only needs to have a USB 3.0 port. So can be a standard USB port with the blue plastic just inside it. Hope that helps. 👍🏻
The colours are really bright/washed out on my Quest 2 so I can hardly see the track but if I move really close to the windscreen, I can see perfectly (so it seems to be some sort of glass effect). Any ideas how to fix this?
I can't get VR to work. Either I see just 3 loading points in the Quest 2 headset or the game starts on the PC even though I selectd VR. Can't this be easier? If it takes me an hour to get this working it's not worth it for me. I wanna race not deal with technical sh*t.

Came across your channel last night as im at that point of frustration. Having setup my motion rig at not getting stuff to work together. In short i have a dof reality h6, fanatec csl wheel/pedals,quest 3,i9 with 50 ram and a 4080 sp setup power is all there. I run virtual desktop not a cable. I have sim racing studio, is that the quivalent of content manager? I bought asserto on steam and dirt rally 2 but when i tried them my pc slowed right up(maybe its the virtual desktop but it works perfectly with half life and ghosts of tabor.) And i couldnt get to go into vr mode leaving me with cursors or press enter etc. Is that because asserto is only vr "supported" and theres some setting i have to change ?? Lastly if i download the other software like pure and shader patch will it be compatible with my currebt setup. Thanks as you do explain setting up so well!❤
Sorry to hear you’re having issues. So I use sim racing studio for my wind sim so this piece of software would be to setup you motion platform. Is that all working ok? Let’s start with Assetto Corsa first. Content manager is a launcher for Assetto Corsa so you don’t run the ac program, you run content manager choose the track the cars practise or race and then it launches the game for you. In content manager under video settings is OpenVR chosen? If so try the Oculus Rift option. OpenVR works for me and others but not for some people. Try that and then let me know what you see then 👍🏻

Following this great guide i managed to have my first test and the rig did connect however after the race i tried to restart the race and it glitched out and then had to do a complete restart and try again. So still not out of the woods for finding why.... trying a powered hub tomorrow when it arrives. But i cant audio through my quest 3. Link cable tests ok. How did you get it to work, as on the net its a known bug. Fir the moment i have to run through a bt speaker. Thanks
@@deadlydarksun9670 So in sound settings make sure the Oculus headset is chosen and then in Content Manager under settings -> Audio you can set your audio device to the Quest headset too 👍🏻
I cannot get Sol to uninstall using the new Pure 0.222. I still see Sol in the weather options and I don't see pure in there, I know I installed it because it is in other areas of content manager. I had also uninstalled content manager from scratch at least from the method I pulled up from online, that did not work, sol is still in there. Im lost. Plus on top.if all that now im getting the 3 loading dots when trying to link with pc. Tried many options on that too. I don't want to ha e to reinstall windows.

So how do we make it so the GPU does it instead then?
If you have an nvidia GPU then this is enabled in the nvidia control panel. For AMD I think it’s in the adrenalin app. 👍🏻

Sounds like possibly a graphics driver issue or more likely a ppfilter. Have you tried changing those

@gundam0039 I’m running a 4090 with an I9-14900k and yes the bitrate and what you can set it to will depend on your PC. The default value of 0 is around 150Mbps from memory.

It does just very buggy can’t bind you’re vr camera reset and things like that’s without content manager it’s a pain but promise content mod is worth it just did it and hills are crazy fun to drive on now

You can yes if you have good WiFi. They recommend WiFi 6 which I don’t have but I’ve always had a cable connected to my VR headset for years so I’m used to it. Let me know how you get on 👍🏻

Yes you can use the hand tracking and use your fingers to point and select by pinching your thumb and index finger together 👍🏻

I joined the CSP Discord server like you suggested and grabbed the pinned document. However I had 2 questions/concerns that I'm hoping you can help with. 1) The AC settings document is dated 2019. Do you know if it's been updated since then? 2) The heading of document is "AC VR Settings for Samsung Odyssey+" Were you able to use those high or ultra settings pretty much exactly? I'm looking for guidance because I believe my setup is pretty similar to yours. I'm on a 13900K/4090 with a Meta Quest 3. Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
Yes for your CPU and your VR headset I would use the Ultra settings. In fact, I would recommend copying mine shown in the video and see how you get on. Let me know how you get on. 👍🏻

Thank you so much for putting this video together. I've been putting off setting up Assetto Corsa for years and finally got around to doing it through your videos. All set up and ready to go on Quest 3.
Question: I'm hitting 90 FPS on practice or when the other cars level out on the grid. But I'm near 45-50 FPS at the start of the race when all the cars are bunched together. Are you hitting 90 FPS the entire race beginning to end irrespective of number of cars?
It will drop with a full grid at the start of the race but will then quickly come back up again but it's usually no less that 70fps for a few seconds.
@@thesimracingshaolinstudent thanks for the info. Mine may be dropping too much FPS with a full grid then. Even with an RTX 3080, I’m in between low to medium visual settings.
Great Video! Only 2 thhing you messed up that needs a bit more explaining :) When you said to turn off Anisotropic F. in CM since it is better if GPU takes that load (which is correct) you didn't mentioned that it must be then enabled in Nvidia Control panel and adjusted there, correct? And at the end you mentioned Max Bitrate and to increase in 100 increments and to test.... Test for what exactly? What to look for? What are the benefits going higher or lower? and most importantly how to know if something is actually better or worse? Like drop in frames, stuttering, resolution drop etc? Kinda super important but missed completely :) Especially since if default is at around 130 and max is 500 and hacked max is 950 while our theoretical link max is at 2.0-2.5 Gbps thru link cable, I am asking myself why would they set it to 130 by default and limit it to 500 max? Hope you can answer since I am trying to get the max out of Q3 and in ACC it look like dog shiat even with all the settings adjusted... Car interior looks great but track and anything after 10m is just a mess xD (and I have my Q3 at 90 or 120Hz and 1.5x res....) Will test AC with what I learned from your video and hope that at least AC will be good since I know UE4 is also bad in VR :)

If you run the USB test from the Oculus app that will tell you that you need USB 3.0. You can buy a PCIe card for pretty cheap these days. 👍🏻
How do I see the full screen, for proper VR with head movement etc? All I can see through the quest link is what looks like a virtual monitor in the middle
Try Oculus Rift in the video settings in Content Manager. OpenVR works well for me and others but not for some people 👍🏻
Press the left handed start button on the vr controller. I had the same thing, its just showing you the screen of desktop one so if you press start it will close that and the game should be playing

They’re both very good in VR in terms of clarity, graphics and being optimised well too. AMS2 is by far the easier of the two to setup 👍🏻

Hi, do you know is there anyway to set the brightness with CM, mine is a bit dark in the interior, outside view is fine, only the interior not as bright as yours in this clip. I set my vr brightness all the way up but still bit dark for me, please help, thank you
When this has happened to me in the past it's either been the Car VAO's or the ppFilter. Have you tried changing the ppfilter as that's quick and easy?

The only VR Racing i do is on Gran Turismo Sport on my PS4Pro, so yeah, the quality of the image is not very good, is pixelated but i can compromise that for the sake of being in the car which is by far the best experience i ever had. I am thinking on buying a VR Headset for my PC to try in Assetto Corsa, problem is, my PC is on the low end range in terms of VR. I did run the Steam VR Bench once and said it's just about VR Ready, but that means in my opinion that is not realy good for VR and i need a better spec. So i will have to delay the PC Build and VR Headset.
Hey man hope you’re doing well i am connecting my VR via quest link and when I try to get into an online server my vr starts tripping out. It takes about 8 min to get into the server then it just crashes. I have a 3060 I7 16 G of ram. Single player servers work but online are hell and I have to cross my fingers when I try to get in. My in car view seems fine apart from the speedometer are a bit blurry and the reds are too. My problem is that the foreground in the distance is quite pixilated as are the other cars when they are up ahead. Can I clear this up?
WOW this is a great video! I have a Varjo Aero headset, what are your recommandation of graphics settings with the Varjo Aero headset? My graphics settings in AC are not very clear and crisp compared to ACC. In AC with your ultra setting the FPS is not stable and bounces between 80-90 and the VRAM on my 4090 GPU is only using 8Go out of 24Go. And in ACC the FPS is stable at 90 and the VRAM is at around 20Go. So my settings in AC are definitely not optimized to get the maximum resolution out of AC! Please help!

For some reason, I can see the game in front of me in vr, however, when I look around , the view doesn’t move with my head and I can only see the game right in front of me.

No you don’t need the USB cable. You can use Oculus AirLink or Virtual Desktop or SteamLink. I chose the cable route. 👍🏻

If you've got good WiFi then no you don't. Your PC only needs to have a USB 3.0 port. So can be a standard USB port with the blue plastic just inside it. Hope that helps. 👍🏻

The colours are really bright/washed out on my Quest 2 so I can hardly see the track but if I move really close to the windscreen, I can see perfectly (so it seems to be some sort of glass effect). Any ideas how to fix this?
I would try changing your ppfilter as an easy first step

I can't get VR to work. Either I see just 3 loading points in the Quest 2 headset or the game starts on the PC even though I selectd VR. Can't this be easier? If it takes me an hour to get this working it's not worth it for me. I wanna race not deal with technical sh*t.

Yes for sure it’s recommended you let your GPU do it and not the CPU (game). 👍🏻

everything went well, except that when I accelerate with the pedal, the game steering wheel turns, while my real steering wheel doesn't turn...
That sounds like you have a mapping configured oddly in Content Manager. If you go into controls you can set them up there. 👍🏻
how did you get assetto vr to record widescreen like this, mine only does for the right eye and the fov is super small
why openvr and not oculus as the renderer?
I’ve always had it set that way and works really well for me especially for recording content. Not felt the need to change it 👍🏻
Came across your channel last night as im at that point of frustration. Having setup my motion rig at not getting stuff to work together. In short i have a dof reality h6, fanatec csl wheel/pedals,quest 3,i9 with 50 ram and a 4080 sp setup power is all there. I run virtual desktop not a cable. I have sim racing studio, is that the quivalent of content manager? I bought asserto on steam and dirt rally 2 but when i tried them my pc slowed right up(maybe its the virtual desktop but it works perfectly with half life and ghosts of tabor.) And i couldnt get to go into vr mode leaving me with cursors or press enter etc. Is that because asserto is only vr "supported" and theres some setting i have to change ?? Lastly if i download the other software like pure and shader patch will it be compatible with my currebt setup. Thanks as you do explain setting up so well!❤
Sorry to hear you’re having issues. So I use sim racing studio for my wind sim so this piece of software would be to setup you motion platform. Is that all working ok? Let’s start with Assetto Corsa first. Content manager is a launcher for Assetto Corsa so you don’t run the ac program, you run content manager choose the track the cars practise or race and then it launches the game for you. In content manager under video settings is OpenVR chosen? If so try the Oculus Rift option. OpenVR works for me and others but not for some people. Try that and then let me know what you see then 👍🏻

Following this great guide i managed to have my first test and the rig did connect however after the race i tried to restart the race and it glitched out and then had to do a complete restart and try again. So still not out of the woods for finding why.... trying a powered hub tomorrow when it arrives. But i cant audio through my quest 3. Link cable tests ok. How did you get it to work, as on the net its a known bug. Fir the moment i have to run through a bt speaker. Thanks
@@deadlydarksun9670 So in sound settings make sure the Oculus headset is chosen and then in Content Manager under settings -> Audio you can set your audio device to the Quest headset too 👍🏻
I cannot get Sol to uninstall using the new Pure 0.222. I still see Sol in the weather options and I don't see pure in there, I know I installed it because it is in other areas of content manager. I had also uninstalled content manager from scratch at least from the method I pulled up from online, that did not work, sol is still in there. Im lost. Plus on top.if all that now im getting the 3 loading dots when trying to link with pc. Tried many options on that too. I don't want to ha e to reinstall windows.
