@Bismuth gotta race Summoning Salt for the breakdown video. GG on almost completing the A Button Press series, a task nearly as complex as Braden’s level.
I love that the video is not just a clear celebration, but also a community celebration. It's been a wild 7 years, but I'm glad you can finally put this to rest. We're all so proud of you.
it's also impressive how much people have stayed on (at least a big part of) the whole process... like wow, seeing the same people as 5-6 years ago were feeling hype for this level, seeing them celebrate it now... meanwhile i have only been here for like 3 years and pretty inactive lol but i also admire the others who have stayed for longer and still were present around the time the completion happened

Well 27:31 that last sentence "the community Ive built" its hard to call CCB humbled , "Id say he started or we built" as the final trailer came out 5 years ago & with the MM1 upload feature disabled last year - so a large part of community moved on. Yet one didn’t & Im excited to watch this as a new to me experience Tell us on the outside of the box viewers looking in - Did it soften the man? If by being hard on others (the no arrows / checkpoints thing is what gets me 😅😱) & years playing it just by himself by hours of gameplay then it was all worth it!! I hope he picked it up & put it down over the years to enjoy many other things - Im not quite sure how to quantify that many hours of gameplay. Definitely deserving the title of Madlad!! What a amazing video & journey!!
I haven’t ever heard of this person in my life but just after this video I’ve instantly gained mad respect for him. I can only imagine the toll it must’ve took on their life to dedicate that much time toward such a grueling task. GG well played!
It's honestly amazing how this guy kept trying to beat his own hardest Mario level for over 7 years and still didn't give up, even after the feature of uploading levels was discontinued in the original Mario Maker and all the people telling him he couldn't do it. This guy truly is a legend.
The comment at the very end emphasis really what this is all about. It's not about the outcome and final goal but more about the journey to reaching it. Reminds me of Deft quote about his own journey of 10 years on competitive lol scene before being finally crowned World Champion. Also, his run was called "the last dance", znd for the mezning of it, you czn check it out more about DRX 2022 journey. Also this particular quote make me remember about "The last dance" named level, which was officially last mario maker 1 level made by the community before game server shutdown. And even more insane, The clearance of TAS level "Trimming the herbs" by sanyx91. Another great example of perseverance, devotion, grind, faith and resiliency. I found lot of analogies behind all 3 distinct stories. Congrats to sanyx91, Braden and DRX to inspire real people through worth movies or anime material stories.
and also talent, other good players also put many hours into Trimming the herbs but didn't even get close, while sanyx was the most skilled of all who tried it
I love that Braden kept all the screenshots of his doubters. I imagine him posting them all on a bulletin board in his room lol. The clear was inevitable! Congratulations!
my jaw DROPPED. i knew of this level's existance but didn't know how long it'd take to go through, not to mention how incredibly difficult it is so seeing it be beaten was simply amazing. Congratulations on this incredible journey and playthrough. We love to see it 🎉
As concieved in 1632 by Canadian Mario Maker player ChainChompBraden, Trials of Death was a gentlemen's level in which Phil and Redggie would square off and regale each other with stories monotonous for days on end as they watched Mario die over and over. Over the next few years, Braden gained a loyal following of a few hundred concurrent viewers. It was ChainChompBraden's son, ChainChompChainChompBraden, who developed what he called the "not sneezing" strategy in 1637 after witnesing his father lose a legendary run to a massive sneeze causing him to fall out of his chair. When ChainChompChainChompBraden challenged the fully buffed Trials of Death to an attempt, the doubters were in full force. You can imagine their surprise when while he was playing the final section of the level, he proceeded to complete the level without sneezing causing Trials of Death to be "clear checked" in the parlance of a pre-server shutdown time. While it was universally agreed that the level couldn't be uploaded to the servers, ccccb had a dev-exit version that was previously uploaded allowing anyone to play the level after his victorious attempt. This accomplishment caused an uproar in the Mario Maker community large enough to spill into local gaming articles, and stirred the interest of many Mario Maker streamers to see what the fuss was about. Streamers were enthralled to engage in this borderline barbaric display of human endurance and skill, and the rest is history-after a few spoilsport schoolmoms single-minded about safety srarted watching the windwaker feet streams, of course. Today's Trials of Death enthusiasts fantasise about the newcomer that would clear an even further buffed version of the level than the one ChainChompChainChompBraden did. Classification of the modern hyper-buffed level has essentially left it unclearable; but it's easy to get caught up in the fantasy. Young scholars with big dreams often do attempts of the level with their crazy new handicap, usually some variant of blindfolds or oven mitts. Although they've achived the occasional key door, none of the absurd gimmicks have been playable enough to make it to the end. The real wonder, though, is that the level ChainChompChainChompBraden originally cleared is still being played. Trials of Death attempt livestreams can be found from streamers all over twitch; you can visit one most any day of the week and see an erudite gentleman exchanging plesantries with twitch chat. Most people only come to watch a few hours of attempts, and then leave. But every once in a while you'll find amongst your elders a stout fellow, a die-hard fan, who perhaps witnessed that historic clear from ChainChompChainChompBraden, who for the love of the level must stay to witness the last glorious seconds of motivation slip away, only to give up and not try again another day.
This is truly THE Super Mario Maker moment. Surreal to think this went on for 7 years, and you never gave up, you kept going and going just for a personal goal, and that's simply admirable, you deserve a break, you've earned ir.
"he will not beat it never" is a double negative, so that guy accidentally said you would eventually beat it, and he was correct! this is insanely epic
I think the 2 key things to know about this is: 1) this was NOT the same level for 7 years. Constantly updated and made harder over 6.5 years 2) when something is a personal goal. It's never a matter of IF it will happen. He didn't do it for glory or fame or money or for anyone else, it was for himself
Thank you so much for even including me as the last reaction xD I'm honored to have that.... but yeah, the True Ending is a very worthy one ;) The honor of being in the video still isn't as big as the honor of being part of this Seven Year Schlobberknocker ™.
I know I'm late, but this is one of the most wholesome achievements in video games history EVER. _7 whopping years to beat a single level._ You're a living legend ma man :))
The amount of Mario's that had to die for this to be completed is disastrous, but genuinely always looked forward to Trials of Death being slayed someday and now that it's finally happened I couldn't be happier and thanks so much for streaming the level over the years. I have always admired your dedication. I still remember the first day I decided to finally create an account and follow you instead of watching signed out. I have always believed for the last 3 years that I have been watching this journey that you would clear it. Congratulations this is massive
@Ll L yes but that's intuition most people don't use for jobs, instead of being a wet blanket on one of the most memorable achievements within a community, actually let people enjoy the journey this dude has taken and celebrate with the community!
@Ll L this isn't something he had to devote every hour of every day to doing. he also probably had a life and did productive things like you say those people did, the difference was that their hobby in their free time was hating on something, and his hobby in between those things was accomplishing something insane that inspired a lot of people
Absolutely stunning. Trials of Death has been an amazing community to be a part of and it made it possible for me to meet some of the best people I've ever talked to, as well as inspiring my own two year grind. I cannot believe you did it. Braden Moor, you've done something truly incredible; you have conquered Death.
@@imakedamoney420smokeweed why would you waste your time by continuing to reply to this comment that has nothing to do with you when you can do something productive with your sad life
I’m 18 now and was in 5th grade when I starting playing this game. You have become a childhood hero to me in this and an absolute inspiration for this next stage of my life. Well done!
I loved it when Braden said “it’s clearin’ time” and then proceeded to beat the hardest Super Mario Maker level ever and do possibly the hardest thing in gaming up to this point. Huge GGs Braden
For about 3 years, I kept telling myself “surely this is the year he beats it”. Honestly, in 2022, I decided to skip that tradition. I thought it was more realistic to hope for 2023. But then nai 9 happened and I thought “imagine it happens this year”. Well, let’s just say we never saw a nai 10. GG Braden, you have accomplished so much more than just beating a Mario Maker level, you are a legend. Huge congrats, and I’m excited to see what’s next for you
Despite all the criticism, the denial from other players, you pushed through, and after 7 years, you did it! I never doubted you for a millisecond! Your dedication is honestly inspiring!
Let it be known that those 10 minutes might just be the greatest 10 minutes in the entire history of gaming. Proud of you, man. I hope you carry this with you as a trophy for the rest of your life, because you deserve it.
WOW! This clear video was everything I expected and more! Once again I’m going to say a huge congratulations to you, Braden. I’m so thankful to have been a part of this journey and it has been amazing being a part of your lovely community that you managed to build! I’m excited for what’s to come ❤️Also AoT music FTW
Legendary achievement - dare I say, a source of inspiration greater than Streets 112. Also oh my GOD, the power fantasy to clown on unhinged TH-cam comments is one of the most satisfying things I've ever witnessed
This journey was so much more than a level. You've changed the lives of many, brightened the days of many, and achieved something of an incomprehensible magnitude. Thank you so much for doing this.
This is gaming history right here. I remember showing this to my friends in middle school five years ago, and seeing it actually done is so surreal, it doesn't even feel real. Absolutely monumental completion, nothing is ever going to top this.
This is one of the craziest achievements in gaming history. Nearly a decade of work and thousands of hours went into this single level. Very few people have the drive and perseverance necessary to complete such a difficult challenge, yet you kept pushing to achieve your goals. Congratulations on completing this level Braden!!!
I just got around the time to watching this video. This is a huge inspiration to me and forever will be for the rest of my gaming. If someone asked me what the most unimaginable and difficult thing a human can do, it would not be this because you are not human. You're skill and persistency is surreal. It must have been exciting to see the axe the first time in a run and satisfying as hell see it the last time. And again, GG!
« He did it because he did not know it was impossible ». We fail when we doubt or when we think something is not possible. This story is a perfect example. This story, your story is one of the best of the video game history. Each time I feel emotional! Your strength, your will, your patience is out of this world !
I still can’t believe that it’s been done. Congrats on pulling through with this insane achievement! I wish you the best for whatever you do next. YATTA!
This is just underrated. Literally it is one of a lifetimes accomplishments that anyone could do. Spending 7 years would feel like I would never be able to complete it. But seeing that you never gave up actually is why this was beaten.
This level being cleared re-defines what I think is humanly possible in video games. I've made a lot of TASes, but this level looks more impressive/impossible to perform than most of them are! It just goes to show - with enough patience and effort, anything is doable. Major congratulations to Braden on completing gaming's most impressive achievement!!!
Thats crazy, I remember watching the first trailer years ago and cheking your progress from time to time and now one of this times I chek you actually made it, congrats man.
I can’t believe I finally get to see it completed. This is unimaginable, the stuff of fiction. Watch Val’s Shellspace, or Seigein’s Magnum Opus, or Panga’s U-Break or the top hardest NSMBU levels of SMM2. As impossibly difficult as they all are, as a kaizo player I can still look at them and imagine they can be beaten. This is a different beast. Not only have you achieved the creation & completion of the hardest Mario level ever created, but you proved it was possible. This is the greatest achievement I have ever seen in a video game, and one of the greatest statements to the human will I have witnessed in my life. Actually, maybe that’s wrong- this isn’t human will. No one else could do this. Nobody but you, Braden. Enjoy the fanfare my man. Anyone like me has been rooting for you from day one. This is single-handedly the biggest win of the Mario Maker community ever. Your talent is amazing. Mario Maker 1 has officially been completed, yes, but even more than that, you’ve brought the beautiful conclusion to a formerly unfinished fantasy story from my childhood. I remember watching your development as I grew up and when this game was all I cared about I always wished I could be like you. This is amazing!!!! Surreal isn’t a good word here. It’s just not enough to describe this otherworldly feeling. It doesn’t feel like this level has been beaten, because in my mind, this is the impossible challenge from my youth. But this beautiful chapter comes to a close now. This momentous achievement from so many peoples’ childhoods has received the ultimate gift & honor of being realized for all to see. Let every person with a child at heart look at this climbed mountain, & cheer to the occasion of your impeccable spirit!!! I can’t say anymore. Why write any longer? Words won’t do this conquered trial any justice. I find that they fail me as they leave my fingers. Love you man, forever & always. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
it will eventually get cleared by another player, most likely by kingboo97 who has already said he is going to grind it until he clears it, also u-break or airspace are way easier than magnum opus
@@coreyyohm you underestimate people, but ok it just takes one person to say something isn't possible or something will never happen for it to actually happen i know i'll be right (eventually, obviously it won't happen in a week)
@@ReadySalted80Number1ForSoaps anyone is capable of beating this level. It`s just the fact that it will take someone a long LONG time just to get close to the end no matter how experienced they are. So it could be another 7 years before someone else ever beats this
Watching someone completing Top 1 in games like MM GD FNaF OSU and Celeste makes me happy that we as humans can do amazing things And watching him (guy beating it) and pushing Limit or that game is one of best moments in whole history imo
Such a nice clear video, celebrating not only the level clear but also the whole community built around it! I followed your journey for about 3 years (always lurking in chat) and I was here for the last run (and the nai on the preceding day), truly an incredible experience that I will share for the rest of my life. Your perseverance is unmatched! Thank you for creating and beating this level!
I've been dealing with severe health issues for more than 2 years now and have been practicing Traditional chinese medecine for 3hrs a day, for 18 months straight. Although I'd been having crazy improvements, the time span was starting to wear me down, doing the same routine 7 days a week for so long. But then I saw your accomplishment and it lit up the fire inside me again, 18 months is nothing compared to 84. Thank you for reminding me that all things are possible as long as you believe
All hail the king of Mario maker Chain chomp Bradon. But really. I remember seeing this level all those years ago when I was just turning 8 and now am just about to turn 15. You and Ryu inspired me to beat some of the hardest levels in the game and even though I may not be the best player and there's way harder levels for me to still beat this level showed me my all time favorite game. And even though I didn't tune into a lot of streams what you have done is truly insane ♥️
Possibly the greatest achievement in all of gaming. Even tho i just found out about it from a gc on discord i cannot comprehend the amount of time and effort you put into this level like i don't even know what's going on everything looks like a frame perfect timing. This completion better get some huge popularity because you sure as hell deserve it, GG!
this video deserves way more attention and views than it has right now. this deserves millions and this man needs an award. congrats dude this was truly amazing and one of if not the best and most complicated gaming achievement ive ever seen.
Congratulations Braden! I remember first seeing you do attempts when I was like 14 and I was just getting into Mario Maker. It’s crazy to see how much it progressed since then. You are truly an inspiration to me, and not just because you’re good at Mario. Thank you for sharing this journey with us all, and thanks for including my reaction as well! Can’t wait to see what is next for you ❤
To be honest I forgot this guy existed and I’m sad to say that! I knew about the level but I never knew it was as hard as it is! So CONGRATS! 🍾🎈🎊🎉 YOU DESERVE IT ALL FOR ONE OF MANKINDS GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS! GOING IN THE HISTORY BOOKS!
Congratulations on the completion of such an amazing journey. Through all the deaths and all the attempts, I was in awe at your persistence, consistency, and determination of it all. To finally see this come to a close, to finally see this era-defining level be beaten live, and to finally see the axe fall, it was the most incredible feat in video games I've ever witnessed live, and probably will be into the distant future. Of course, my words don't serve the level, the journey, or you any justice, but it truly was an incredible destination at the end of an incredible journey. Looking forward to whatever may come next
incredible consistency and unbreakable motivation, this will never cease to impress the world. i'm not sure anyone will ever be able to top this kind of achievement in gaming as a whole. very deserved gg
太强了 Amazing! Really amazing to see this kind of level being challenged through. It proves that anything is possible as long as you believe in it and keep working on it.
Huge congrats Braden!!! When I first started watching you in late 2016, I was so mindblown by the difficulty of this level. I never would have thought that it would grow to the monstrosity that has just recently been beaten. Your patience and dedication are inspiring.
I started watching the stream when an attempt was roughly in the section at 19:42 and got a completely wrong impression of how insanely complex and precise and dense the sections in this level are. Pretty much started watching at the only point in this level that resembles anything I know about kaizo from other games, and I remember calling it something like "reasonable" from just those first 30 seconds I watched. Boy was I wrong. Absolute insanity that an 8 minute long level with that sort of density is possible. Somebro told me that half a minute in SMM is the equivalent of like 8 minutes in SM64 if the individual jumps are around the same difficulty. So this is probably longer and harder than the red coin star in dj0nk's Junk. Mad respect dude
this is like the most insane achievment ever in videogames if it wasn't for you, i would never imagine there is anyone in this world even close to the consistency and persistence that you got right here you had a dream, a goal, and didnt matter anything around, you went with all for it unlucky how i missed it, but this is very inspirating people should stop criticating that hard lol at the point where someone has been trying it for over 6 years, you have to spect he is not going to stop for anything in the world massive GGs man, most deserved clear ever :D now waiting for ToD 2- cough
This is one of the most incredible grinding feats I’ve ever seen. I haven’t been following your progress actively on twitch, but I’ve been curious about your progress by checking your TH-cam channel every several months or so for maybe 5ish years, hoping you wouldn’t give up or move on. Easily one of the greatest accomplishments in gaming as a whole, and truly a story that needs to be widely noticed
I feel ashamed of myself cuz I haven't spent more than 100 hours on my levels and get bored easily, but the dedication you had over the 7 years is mind-blowing.
That was the most amazing mind-blowing level clear and I've ever seen. And possibly the single greatest achievement in the history of gaming. NGL, I actually shed a tear afterward at the thought of how satisfying Braden must have felt accomplishing this truly god-like feat in gaming history, when so many people told him to just give up and told him he would never be able to do it. Bragging rights for life as far as I'm concerned...
I feel honored to be in such a welcoming community. I remember finding your stream about 4 years ago when I looked up hardest Mario Maker level on TH-cam. Insane to finally see the completion after 7 years, we are all proud of you Braden and good luck to your future endeavors :)
I can't express better than anyone else already has what an incredible achievement this is, but I also want to say, what an awesome level. It's laid out perfectly for what it is; each moment is like part of the narrative of beating it. It's paced like a good movie, with so many memorable sections and an arc from start to finish that really sells the emotional moment when you start approaching that axe. I like how it starts out fast and flashy, then throughout the middle it gradually gets more slow and tense, and towards the end you get all these especially distinctive high-concept parts that fill you with that "this is it" feeling before launching you through one last gauntlet of nonstop action punctuated by that one last jump every level like this has to have, that gives the end of the level the celebration it deserves. The way it's all put together definitely contributed to how excited I was by the end; it's great to see a level that's designed to embody the context surrounding it and everything it stands for. Congrats on beating this monster of a level after so long!
I've said it before, but congratulations on clearing mario makers hardest level and closing the final page in the history books for the game. I've been here since hour 400 and it's been a wild ride. I'm so happy you finally finished and gave the game a proper sendoff. The clear is deserved and have always believed and I'm so happy to see you finally get it. It still feels surreal that it all happened but I'm happy it did. Wish I couldve been there live with you guys. Congratulations braden
TH-cam is wild. It's been like 2 years since I last even heard about this. And yet, YT knew to recommend as soon as it was done. Congrats 👏🎉👏 I hope you got everything out of it that you wanted. 👍
I am not overstating it when I say, this is probably the biggest achievement in gaming history. ChainChompBraden just conquered the hardest level in ANY video game (imo). This monumental occasion will no doubt go down in gaming history.
It is really just a miracle that this level and community has become what it is, and really one of the most incredible journeys I have ever seen in gaming. Seeing this back in 2015/2016 as the hardest level of all time and for it to finally be done 7 years later is just... nothing like what I've ever seen before. You are truly a masochist for sticking with this, but that is the sole reason you managed to do this in the first place. There is nothing else to say about this accomplishment, other than the fact that it is truly one of the greatest feats in all of gaming history. YATTA.
This will forever be the best achievement in gaming history. When I first saw this, I thought it would've never been beaten for the rest of time. I'm glad that I was proven wrong. I could never spend seven years doing a single thing, let alone something of this difficulty. Massive congrats, Braden. You're impossibly strong.
What an amazing journey has been. The fact it took 7 years to beat, which is how many years I've been apart of the SMM community is absolutely wild. This is the greatest moment in video game history. It's also hilarious that you screenshoted every doubter and show it to the internet, so we can laugh at their embarrassment. 🤣 Amazing work, man. You drop this. 👑
Just because something took 7 years to beat doesn't mean that makes it the hardest ever thing to be beaten in any video game. For one, this game is independent from all other video game types, and cannot be compared to other games, due to different physics, controls, features, etc. Second, while this is and will likely be the hardest completion in this game forever that does not mean it suddenly triumphs over every other game, for the reasons I said in my first point. Lastly, why people even factor in time to determine how hard something is is beyond me. You could spend 1000 hours on something extremely easy or you could beat something extremely hard in 5 hours, that doesn't make the easy level suddenly harder than the hard level. When comparing levels, you have to look at the objective difficulty and other factors related to that like how long the level is, how precise the jumps are, how punishing the level is if you fall and so on.
@@Xenon_001 Fair point. But in the end, it's how we view of what's consider to be the most difficult task in a video game. In my opinion, taking 7 years to beat seems really impressive.
As a fellow geometry dash player , we are able to to comprehend seeing such an insane amount of attempts & playtime dedicated to beating a single level. And yet this is incomprehensible.. The amount of patience , skill & determination required to be able to do such a feat is still ABSOLUTELY MIND-BLOWING.. This is truly one of the if not the hardest achivement in gaming history Massive respect for you and good luck in future 👍
I genuinely do not think GD has a story as grand as this one. Closest that comes to this would be either Kugelblitz (honestly the parallels between his story and this one are insane), but that has yet to come to an end, or Nifty (he has 600+k attempts on Firework, projected to be over 1 mil when he beats it). Before this I thought GD had the greratest challenges of gaming to offer, but honestly I think my opinion has swayed.
I’m a gd player and I just do believe that is harder than any level ever beaten within gd other than 1, but that’s just it. And I could be completely wrong. But this level has the greatest story in any game ever
POGGERS 34:19 Who’s that? Also, for those who don’t know, I was shouting “TEND!” because that was the nickname for end 10. That was pretty hype. GG Braden, again. YOU DID IT ccbChomp ccbChomp
Holy shit! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This video is epic. Your determination has always been inspiring. And it wasn't until Vegetafan's video that I realized the whole reason I ever made a twitch account was to watch your live attempts. I saw you reference your level on GoSeigen's MagnumOpus clear, and that opened the rabbit hole. Sad I missed it, but super happy for you dude! I can't imagine how good it feels to have finally cleared it, But you made a good point about it really being about the journey. Thanks for being an inspiration!!!!!!! Thanks for the hours of determination. Thanks for showing us how to deal with haters. And thanks for giving us this sweet video to close the whole thing out. I will keep posted.

It became a personal goal. It's honestly great he kept at it.

The comment at the very end emphasis really what this is all about. It's not about the outcome and final goal but more about the journey to reaching it.

7 years.
I'm sure Andre Filipe would approve.

Not me a 34 year old man sitting in my living room at 430 am crying for how impressive this is and how happy I am for you
I think the 2 key things to know about this is:
1) this was NOT the same level for 7 years. Constantly updated and made harder over 6.5 years
2) when something is a personal goal. It's never a matter of IF it will happen. He didn't do it for glory or fame or money or for anyone else, it was for himself

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!! I’ve been following your journey for 6 years! Crazy it’s been this long!

Grats on the end of a journey. It's bittersweet. I hope your next project is even half as fulfilling as this one was. I'll be there for it.

Wow, after 7 years I can’t believe this finally happened. Congratulations man, you earned it.
Amazing work, man.
@@Xenon_001
Fair point.

But this level has the greatest story in any game ever
this is like if sailent created silent clubstep and then tried to actually verify it
@@drunkendog4469 It's definitely up there , but trials of death clears all those
@@drunkendog4469 ever heard of a little level called "Silent Clubstep"
What i find fascinating is that this is Mario Maker 1, not 2. Truly incredible.
Mm1 had more stupitly hard tech like smw wall jumps
Bruh this level was created way before Mario maker 2 😅
"Seven-year schlobberknocker" is probably the funniest thing I've heard today.
POGGERS
34:19 Who’s that?
I can't imagine how good it feels to have finally cleared it,
But you made a good point about it really being about the journey.
Thanks for being an inspiration!!!!!!!
Thanks for the hours of determination.
Thanks for showing us how to deal with haters.
And thanks for giving us this sweet video to close the whole thing out.
I will keep posted.
You are like the real life Guts of SMM. A true legend and inspiration.
