I’m a retired army captain who progressed from the enlisted ranks. What bothers me about Trump’s qualifications is how he was deemed “inherently trustworthy” to have access to classified information. He should have been immediately disqualified long before being elected because of his numerous bankruptcies. We hold our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen to a much higher standard regarding national security and being REAL PATRIOTS. Many of our service members were and are involuntarily discharged or denied reenlistment because of indebtedness, which can also result in the loss of a security clearance. And some unfortunate men and women were and are career veterans nearing retirement. Pardon my language, please, but the system is fucked up.
We also require anyone in a financial career to be licensed and follow ethics rules. Trump wiped this department out! We know why. Several Bankruptcies disqualify US citizens from being licensed to work and profit from the financial sector.

I especially liked it where he said he could be sued if he didn't move forward and disqualify Donald Trump implying that it would be negligence if he didn't exercise the Fourteenth Amendment and withhold Trump from being on the state's Presidential ballot. Excellent interview. We lived in Arizona (2019-2023), and the political atmosphere was insane. Yet, every once in awhile, we see a civil servant with some integrity.
Maybe stop voting for people and vote for policies instead? This is why we must call for Direct Digital Democracy without Parties nor Politicians. Citizen initiated referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws. As well as a Public Authority to audit police and prosecute bad actors in our own courts. With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc. Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%. The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register. This would all be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination, that can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in a similar fashion at Scale. It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on. This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented. Alternatively candidates could run with the directive to install a Direct Democracy, and therefore wouldn't need to have any policies of their own, they could even be Mascots!

I just wanted to share that feeling ashamed seems different than I feel. I feel really P*ssed off about Trump and his idiotic cohorts causing such huge distractions and threats against our country, our gov't. and the Constitution. No one is perfect so therefore no country is perfect. It was written to keep those Confederates who rebelled against the Union from holding office after the Civil War had ended. Remember, CSA President Jefferson Davis had held a position in Congress before the war. The 14th Amendment kept him from being elected to public office once his home state had been readmitted to the Union.
If this wasn't a violation of the fourteenth amendment nothing ever will be.
The amendment was for actions like what the confederates did. I suspect what trump did falls short.

I’m a retired army captain who progressed from the enlisted ranks. What bothers me about Trump’s qualifications is how he was deemed “inherently trustworthy” to have access to classified information. He should have been immediately disqualified long before being elected because of his numerous bankruptcies. We hold our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen to a much higher standard regarding national security and being REAL PATRIOTS. Many of our service members were and are involuntarily discharged or denied reenlistment because of indebtedness, which can also result in the loss of a security clearance. And some unfortunate men and women were and are career veterans nearing retirement. Pardon my language, please, but the system is fucked up.

I especially liked it where he said he could be sued if he didn't move forward and disqualify Donald Trump implying that it would be negligence if he didn't exercise the Fourteenth Amendment and withhold Trump from being on the state's Presidential ballot. This is why we must call for Direct Digital Democracy without Parties nor Politicians.
Citizen initiated referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws. As well as a Public Authority to audit police and prosecute bad actors in our own courts.
With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc.
Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%.
The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register. This would all be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination, that can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in a similar fashion at Scale.
It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on.
This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented.
Alternatively candidates could run with the directive to install a Direct Democracy, and therefore wouldn't need to have any policies of their own, they could even be Mascots!

I'm starting to feel less ashamed to be an American as I witness our Secretaries of States step it up and do their jobs so properly, and do it with NON PARTISAN power. This is what America is supposed to be. To be honest, it makes me feel safe. I was watching Secretary of State Joslyn Benson of Michigan do her job properly the other day, and all I can say is, again..... I'm feeling less ashamed to be American. I'm just glad we've got proper Secretaries of States in place the way we do 👌✔️
I just wanted to share that feeling ashamed seems different than I feel. I feel really P*ssed off about Trump and his idiotic cohorts causing such huge distractions and threats against our country, our gov't. and the Constitution. No one is perfect so therefore no country is perfect.
This horrid guy comes along, enrolls all these weaklings to go along with him on his hugely destructive journey and all us others have to put up a HUGE FIGHT to maintain safety and security here. With all the indictments and anti Trumpers, my wish is to permanently get rid of
him one way and another and further extricate his followers from their game and move forward
to heal. One day, it can be just a horrid chapter in our history. Shame is more personal. Anger
and revenge may give better results. He certainly made his mark as a shameful character.
Great perspective from this Secretary of State. Very articulate at what needs to be done in ALL states to get this election truth worthy.
