this is a great way to accomplish this! David is educating and presenting these 'arguements' in a logical and approachable manner. his calm attitude and willingness to have a calm conversation and back and forth is so refreshing. This is wonderful to show people.

@@errollkleinwassink8847sooooo many people don’t know that most of what Ukraine gets from us is old equipment. It should make a difference to those that don’t want so much money going overseas. Especially considering it’s a triple win for us. We get rid of stuff that would be junked, we’re protecting democracy without actually going to war AND we are paying our people to make new equipment to replace what’s sent to Ukraine! It’s creating or at least keeping more people working here at home. I cannot fathom wanting to stop supporting Ukraine, at minimum, in this manner.
Everyone is ragging on this young man, but he's the smartest Trump supporter I've seen. He was honest about what he didn't know, he listened to David's point of view and was open to learning. If more of them had this mindset, the political climate would not be so combative, imo.
He was polite and non-combative I agree. I would wait and see if any of his views were changed or was he just nodding and saying he would look into things that were brought up to avoid having to engage in a back and forth. I would see if his future interviews with people on the right who discuss these same topics are any different than what he has done in the past.

I appreciate that the interviewer honestly admitted that he did not know many things that you discussed. It makes the MAGA viewers that might see it be able to more easily relate, and potentially react in the same way, listen and try to absorb what you say.

I agree... but I also can't help but WANT to humiliate. And, I admit that I do it. I can't seem to find David's level of patience. But I'm pleasantly surprised by the kids' demeanor, which is rare.
Truly. I came away with a good impression of both of them. Sean Kelly seemed legitimately interested in what David was saying, asked thoughtful probing _good_ questions, and when challenged on his assumptions, didn't blindly stick to them.
And meanwhile David was calm, took his time, and presented clear and reasonable points to keep the conversation both civil and productive. Bravo to both.

He nodded and said "right" a lot, but did he actually adjust his views? He didn't really express any views other than asking questions. He never had a counterpoint, he would ask, listen, and then move on.

I listens to all. I personally like podcasts where they have both sides like breaking points. The five isn't bad. Yeah most of them are biased but they always have at least one Democrat. I wasn't sure if I could stomach this content though I wanted to watch. I have to commend this young man for having the kind of conversation we should be able to have ALL of the time. I really appreciate his willingness to truly listen, his curiosity, and absorption of information leading to new questions. As well as his complete emotional control, something we fail to see in people 2 and 3 times his age. We are all learning new information in politics because it is dynamic, so the openness to an actual conversation is a must have. Thank you David, for having this conversation and choosing a great person to have it with.

I appreciate this guest who had the courage to admit that he didn't know a lot of stuff talked about. As a Trump supporter, he obviously carried Trump's ideas and further delivered Trump's side of the story. A lot of Trump's supporters have no idea whatsoever of the truth, and have no disposition, or maybe time to check facts out. Hence, they listen to what they are repeated over and over again and appropriate the lies, becoming less and less willing to give an unbiased eye to the issues. It's fun watching one of these guys discovering the truth, even if they're not overtly converted. The fact that they're gradually waking up, means that they start having a glimpse of the truth and Trump starts sliding off the throne he put himself in their eyes. 😁

This was a fantastic interview. Not just because of the depth into each topic, but because there's actually a dialogue. No attacks. No willful ignorance. Both David and Sean were willing to hear each other and respond appropriately rather than jumping off into a bunch of non-sequitur topics. No overt attempts to convince the other that they are right, only encouragement to fact check claims and the presentation of objective facts by David.

OMG, David! You were incredibly knowledgeable and articulate in this interview! This young man was calm and accepted the fact that he didn't know as much as he should. For him to choose trump from his extremely limited knowledge, I think may be typical for the average republican. That may be the reason we see "normal" people who want trump as potus. Great job, David!!

Great interview. It was nice to see two different sides have a conversation, an exchange of ideas, and information about politics. This is how citizens behaved before trump. I cant wait to get back to civil discourse.

You did a great job informing about the real world vs what he thinks he knows!! Obviously he is misinformed about the issues and processes that he is “trying” to discuss.

Right from the start this T supporter shows exactly the problems with even the average T supporters;ill informed, simplifying complicated things,, shallow and bad knowledge of issues and use and understanding of concepts not the least political ones, limited insights in general and conflating issues.
Yeah, this kid didn't even know about the electorial college 😳
But to his credit....he had none of the attitude! He had a curious and open mind! How open do we see this in Trump supporters?? And civility!
